I'm looking one of the many, many beautiful songs Fairouz sang that someone gave me - the hard drive on my computer died. The song is from a play/musical about a despot king who was so bad, that everyone left the country except for the king's singer. Fairouz sang this incredibly beautiful song to the king. If anyone recognizes this song from this description, could you please let me know the name and where I can find it again? One of my students sang this song a capella at the Washington National Cathedral many years ago on Martin Luther King Day. She learned it by ear. It was one of those times when the audience holds its breath while listening to the shimmering beautify of the singing. Thank you for your assistance.
