Ecclectic and sometimes silly, but always makes you think. Now that I've got a T1 I'm discovering the greatest parts of YouTube! Check out my videolog for my favorites.
About Me:

I've been described (by my publicist) as a provocative, ambitious, and engaging producer, that has taken the independent film community by storm with groundbreaking projects. And that I've never been shy about tackling a hard subject or a controversial fire storm.

Probably because my current documentary, "Anarchy Ahead", which I wrote, directed and produced, is poised to blow the whistle on serious nationwide Family Court malpractices. I have spent the past three years conducting extensive research, collected hours of supporting interviews, and reams of implicating documents, and exposed a pattern of legal abuses that perpetuate the breakdown of the American Family.

But the BIG NEWS is that I have put all the research I did for the film to good use and am launching a Self-Help book series for women! The book is a sassy financial guide presented with intellegent humor. Think Suze Ormand meets Sex In The City!

To promote my book I was just on The View From The Bay (on ABC just before Oprah

A bit about my past:
My early acting career was cut short by an injury when I was working on "I Know What You Did Last Summer", but I stayed in the game finding original independent projects to produce. My first feature, "Metal" (written and directed by the amazingly artistic Christopher E. Brown), was shot in just 8 days in the rough neighborhood of Hunter's Point, San Francisco. It was a gritty and dramatic portrayal of a poor black family in turmoil that went on to receive stellar reviews and awards at festivals worldwide. It premiered, and was a critical favorite, at the Mill Valley Film Festival, won the Jury Prize at the Pan African Film Festival, and Best Picture at the Seattle Underground Film Festival, along with several Best Director nods around the globe.

Following the success of "Metal", I re-teamed with Brown to produce his follow up, "Jesus of Cinema", a 35mm feature. Another challenging drama, and the end of a working relationship with Brown (when he failed to deliver the film within the specs required). I had to have the film cut down to 90 minutes (from nearly 3 hours), and although the film also went on to a successful festival run under it's new title "Making Metamorphosis" it was still described by Daily Variety as a Naval Gazing Experience. For me it was a learning experience and illustrated more than ever, no matter how brilliant and talented your actors are (and they were spectacular) they cannot overcome flawed script.

That hard lesson is probably why my next project is with the brilliant Paul Gordon (check him out in my Top Friends)! His script "Folk Music" is the funniest thing I have ever read! The film has extraordinary talent attached and interested! While we are still shaking out scheduling conflicts, we hope to move into production 2007!

At present, I am venturing back in front of the camera for three acting roles in 2007. I am asked frequently if I read scripts. The short answer is yes, but the reality is that I am booked until 2010 so even if I love it, there is no way for me to fit it in any time soon. But, I love to encourage up and coming filmmakers to follow their passion and get it made!
