The reason why most videos fail is because of messaging. This means not communicating the right away with your viewer. For example, being technical with non-techy person. It is a surgeon saying, I "could care less how the operation goes" to a patient just before a major surgery.
The message is often the biggest problem with videos that don't take off with your viewers. People often think the problem is editing and production. But slick and fancy videos only create passive viewers.
To get things right, you want to identify 3 Critical elements
(1) Know your Viewer's Mindset -- Clearly Identify Who You Are Talking To.
Identify your viewer according to a tribal mindset
What "tribe" or group are they a part of?
gamers, gardeners, couples, sports fans, etc.
write down to the the group(s) you are targeting
What is the tribal language they use?
What is the attitude of the tribe about the subject your your video?
What is the current level of information tribe members have about your video topic?
What does the tribe fear or is suspicious about?
What does the tribe love or admire?
When you do this correctly you will know what your viewers want
(2) Know How to Talk to Your Viewer -- There is Only 1 Choice
Talk about how the features of the of what you are presenting will change your viewer's circumstances.
Say what occurs after your viewer possesses the product, services, or information you are promoting in your video
Describe how the features will change the viewer
It is the fat burning power of the P90X exercise system
It is the instant celebrity created by viral videos on YouTube
You need to explain what things will be like once they possess your item
Deliver the information like how you would talk to a friend
Never preach to your audience. You can cite the opinions of others, but use lots of facts and figures to back up your opinions.
Creatively use controversy to gain attention from time-to-time
(3) Know Your Message Structure

Best used to create empathy and bonding with your viewers
It shows that you can empathize with your viewer as a follow tribal method
It is one of the strongest ways to build trust without having fame or celebrity.
Powerful scripts and stories will shine though most production difficulties.
If you follow the system above it is one of the fastest ways to improve to improve any type of video or video series you are working on.

I've been Youtubing for almost 2 years now. What was first, a cheap form of entertainment and a great way to meet people has now turned into a full time job. People just don't realize the money you can make working on Youtube. Right now, we are at the beginning stages of a huge revolution in media on the internet. Like it or not YOUTUBE is right smack dab in the middle of it. Hollywood, Fox News, Big Corporations haven't figured it out totally, but don't worry, they soon will. I recently met with executives at google youtube in San Bruno and would like to share what's coming down the pike. If you get set up NOW, not later, making a few thousand a month will be NOTHING! The key is to get in NOW and start learning how to make a spectacular youtube channel and you will be a huge beneficiary of all the businesses beginning to focus on internet media. As they told me in San Bruno, "It's the wild west" on youtube and RIGHT NOW is the perfect time to position youself. Almost ANY & EVERY business will benefit from having a video hub online, the question is, are you going to be a part of it?
