about other bands... i guess you already know nightwish;).
hmmm, i don't know if you like grunts in the music, if you like a combo of grunts and female voices then you'll like "epica" and "after forever".
if you don't then i suggest "vissions of atlantis".
also you have "sirenia" and "lacuna coil", although i don't think those 2 are as good as the others i mentioned, but still very nice.
if you find one you like, and you watch one fo their vids on youtube, on the right you might find more bands you like in the list of video's.
