Setup :
People often ask about my setup and methods, so here it is Feel free to use any of this information as you see fit. Info is provided as is and should not be construed as a recommandation or endorsement. This setup is non-ideal so please don't blame me if you end up buying things like this and complain they don't work as you wish them too. If you want actual advice on new hardware/audio equipment I can provide it, but please send me a private message for that.
*Recording methodology*
For WoW, I record in 720p with FRAPs at 30fps. I record sans commentary, put the footage into Adobe Premiere. I then replay the video while recording a commentary track over the top. Simple as that. It is not particularly time-consuming, actually the worst part of it is finding a replay that is interesting, then coaxing Starcraft 2 not to trigger the ATI Crossfire Bug that STILL has not been fixed after 3 months of beta. WoW and ISS2 videos are exported in h.264, 2-pass VBR at 3-6mbps bitrate with audio in 128kbps 48khz AAC format.
SHOUTcraft is recorded differently. I cast all my material live, using Xsplit to stream to Justin.tv. I also FRAPs while doing so and record my audio in Adobe Audition, which is running in the background. I then process my audio using compression and normalisation settings, export it as a wav and then sync it up with the FRAPsed recording. I do NOT record my mic with FRAPs because that results in decreased quality. I also use this method for WTF is? and anything else that I'm doing completely live.
That's basically that really, I use the following equipment.
Cynical Rig Mk2 Codename "PLAGUE"
Intel i7 980x @ 4.1ghz
12gb G.Skill Trident 2000mhz X.M.P.
Asus Rampage III X58 Motherboard.
2x Nvidia Palit GTX580
RAID 0 Western Digital Blacks 1TB
2TB Western Digital FRAPs drive
3TB External Storage.
160GB Intel G2 SSD.
Audio equipment :-
CEntrance Micport Pro audio interface.
Electrovoice N/D767a Super-cardoid dynamic microphone (it's nice, but I'd never recommend this setup for someone since there are more cost effective and better sounding mics available, I just happened to have these on hand at the time). The mic is pop-shielded and backed with sound-absorbing foam tiles. Still not happy with the overall ambient noise level so I'm replacing the fans on my computer with something quieter.
Software :-
Adobe Audition 3 (basically the best multitrack audio editor I've ever used)
Adobe Premiere CS 5 (can you tell I like Adobe products?)

TotalBiscuit Status : Back to normal schedule.
Those asking about DC Universe. Yes I am playing it and I am now back to the exact point where the beta videos ended. PvP also now works and it's pretty neat. My name is DarkHalibut on the EU PvE server. I'd ask you please to keep in-game correspondence to a minimum so I can film for you guys.
I have reorganised the way my channel is set out into 4 playlists. This will allow people to choose the content they want to watch without having to dig through stuff they're not interested in. You can click one of 4 playlists, either WoW, Starcraft 2, DC Universe or General Gaming, to get access to the latest videos in that category. Playlist limit is apparently 200 videos, so not all of my WoW stuff is in there, but the latest 200 will be. If you just want to look at my uploads the old fashioned way, click uploads at the top of the page
Schedule :-
You might have noticed I don't keep much of a schedule per-say. But here are some of my regular series and when to expect them.
Azeroth Daily - Every weekday, Monday to Friday.
SHOUTcraft - 1 regular live show per week on Wednesdays at 19:00 GMT, VoDs from said show released throughout the week at regular intervals.
WTF is? - Irregular, when and if I find something interesting.
Magicka TB/Yogs collab - Friday and Saturdays. Friday episodes on this channel, Saturday on Bluexephos
Blue Plz! - This live audio broadcast over on cynicalbrit.com occurs every Friday at 20:00 GMT and is tuned into by following the instructions on the website. The podcast is released a couple of days afterwards.
***Sunday is my day off and by day off I mean I do not guarantee content on that day. Doesn't mean there won't be any, but I don't promise anything***
Other content such as levelling videos, other MMOs, ISS2, wipe-a-thons and raid guides are all irregular, they come when I have the chance to do them or when I have suitable content available.
"It's much easier to hate than to create" - Smart people.
