450 million litres a day (150 mill a year (number sound familiar)) of waste water is dumped into the sea at Gunnamatta. Turning it into drinkable quality..... $2 billion.

Tim learnt to lie from a very early age... He's been doing it for so long, he doesn't know the difference between truth and lies... He just goes with the flow of the team he's on

@ 3aw77

... What exactly does a Liberal 'look' like?

Politics is an area rife with 'perspective bias', where those who criticise any politician are assumed by that politicians supporters to be 'from the other team'. If it was a Liberal government which was making such poor decisions, and therefore being criticised by me, there would be Liberal voters on here accusing me of sounding like I'm 'Labour'.

I do not apologise for the stance I have taken against the current government. But I assure you I have paid no attention whatsoever to the 'flag' they fly under. I have simply looked at their policies and decisions and found them lacking.

Cheers.

So, his proposal for the desal plant was a big shed with 2 x 90deg pipes in it. One would take the sea water and send it to the power station for cooling, the other would take the 150GL of fresh water and send it to your tap. His maintenance fee was a very modest $50m a year and i think he even said he would build the plant for free! Before you dismiss this idea as quickly as the govt did, think about it against the other alternatives, it is a very reasonable short-med term (10-20 year) solution. Does the govt think we need more than 150GL in the first 20 years after the 1st desal plant is built?

A friend of mine submitted a proposal for the desal plant, unfortunately it wasn't published. Consider this: The latrobe power stations have an allocation of 150GL of fresh water for cooling purposes. Amazingly, this is the same amount of water the desal plant would produce. Also consider that a desal plant requires sea water and power, meaning you can build a desal plant near the sea and run power to it or you can build it near a power station and run sea water to it in a pipe. I think most people would agree that HV power cables are pretty dangerous and water in a pipe generally isn't. So you might think ok i'll build the desal plant near the power station. If you did this you might also realise that sea water can be used to cool power stations just a fresh water can, in fact many power stations are built near the sea for this reason. cont...

Have you tried to show your clips to Andrew Bolt who writes for the the Herald-Sun? He has been advocating the Mitchell Dam for ages and I wonder if he is aware of the Trans-Tassie pipe. All publicity is good publicity: the more Victorians that see your views the better. We need to get rid of Brumby and his rabble before the money, our money, runs out. Not to mention the water!

Great video Topher! I would love to see you make videos on other issues, such as the stupidity behind the ETS and the global warming scam.

I'd vote for ya! They should get you on Q and A sometime we need a fresh voice out there.
