About Me:
Short history
The history of DIGIC Pictures goes back to December 2001, when the first members of the later animation company, have joined the video game developer company called Black Hole Games. Its task was to produce animation sequences for an RTS game developed by Black Hole, competing with the best. Along the way the team grew and advanced. Their 3 minute project "Armies of Exigo" (Developer: Black Hole Games, Publisher: Electronic Arts) was completed by the beginning of 2003, and was the first Hungarian project ever to make it to the selection of Electronic Theatre, one of the most prestigious selection of the 2003 Siggraph Festival / Conference, that introduces the worlds leading computer animation projects. This was the event when movie producer Andrew G.Vajna has noticed who at the time was occupied with the production of Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines. Digic Pictures was given the opportunity to show their talents making special effects. For starters, Digic was given 2 special effect shots out of Terminator 3. Upon success 58 more VFX shots followed.
This was the birth of the creative lab Digic Pictures, which specialized itself to create computer animation and special effects measured by the highest standards.
Mission
DIGIC's goal is to produce projects that impress even the most prestigious professional forums bringing a good name to Digic Pictures and the world of the developing professional Hungarian computer animation. Its highest standards allowed Digic Pictures to be the first Hungarian animation studio joining the blood circulation of Hollywood.
