Typical poseur comment-
"Metallica was always "metal." they wrote songs that weren't metal, but that doesn't destroy their title. Slayer blows as a band, but to some people, including myself, find then likable. Some Anthrax is ok, but Joey Belladonna-era kicks ass. Megadeth is great. they have technique, talent, etc, what matters. out of every thrash metal band mentionable:
Metallica, best Instrumentation
Megadeth, most Musicianship
Slayer, best fits the Genre
Anthrax, best Attitude
thats why they're the big4"

I am a Devout Metalhead "elitist" and wouldn't have it any other way. I can be as much of a wayward, fastidious asshole as I want, that doesn't affect my music tastes at all. You 15 year old Internet Generation pissants call elitists poseurs, yet all you listen to is Slipknot and the big four. See the irony there? I'm tired of having to explain to mallcore kids that the latest "h@rdc0r3 8r00t@l" poseur shit isn't real metal. I'm also tired of poseurs saying, "You're just a low-life elitist douchebag FAGGOT!!!!1111". Do you really think that hurts? Listen to whatever you god damn please, just know what scene you're part of and what genre your music is. Also it never hurts to be able stand up for it and for yourself. Metal is metal. If it isn't metal it isn't metal; "middle ground" is not metal either. Big fucking deal. The real problem is the people who think they listen to metal but listen to the wannabe shit. Pull your heads out of your asses. People need to know what a poseur is and whether they are one or not. It's not an elitist who only listens to metal, it's not always a fan of metal who also likes non-metal music or has a guilty pleasure, albeit that would invalidate their credentials as a "metalhead"; making them a person who like metal and other music, it wouldn't necessarily make them a poseur. A poseur is someone who pretends to be a part of a group, and doesn't know about who they're trying to impress. In simpler terms it's someone who tries to fit in somewhere where they don't really belong just to be "different" or "cool". At least 90% of people getting into metal these days will be poseurs only doing it because "metal is the new pop/emo" or some fucked up shit like that. There is NO NEED for Poseurs in metal. Or any other scene really. Metal is a life choice and once those riffs envelop your soul everything else pales into insignificance.
Something else I'm getting sick of is all this "tr00 metalheads only" Bullshit. You poseurs know nothing about metal; and it is fucking idiotic how you're all "DOWN WITH TODAY'S SHITTY MAINSTREAM MUSIC!" Yes, pop and country and rap and hip-hop and whatever other mainstream non-metal genre of music you could think of suck beyond mother fucking belief. No doubt. But who on god's green earth cares? As long as there's good metal, good metalheads shouldn't give a rat's rotting ass about the mainstream, mainly because it does NOT, I repeat, DOES NOT, affect metal's culture or well-being, at all. Whatsoever. And don't waste time of what I'm sure is your otherwise busy lifespan by spamming their JewTube videos with "M3TVL ЯULZ!!!!111" or "Instead of a Metal rebellion I purpose a new plan". Those are some of THE MOST douchetarded things you can do. And it gets nothing done at all. Hate them, that's totally fine. I do too, but you will rarely if ever see me bitch and moan about it. They're totally different subjects. The only bands that are really "insulting" (for lack of a better term) metal are Deathcore and Metalcore and all that fake trendy shit. It's today's version of Glam, Bands of Androgynous trendwhores profiting off a trendy scene that has a clear expiration date. But again, it doesn't affect true metal. It will die off eventually just like Glam "metal", Nu "metal", and Rap "metal" did. Without a Heaven there's no Hell. It won't be "the downfall of metal" or some gloomy shit like that. Why? Well, let me make an example. Ever wonder why True Metal has outlasted punk rock by 20-30+ years? Well, because punk is at least 98% about the scene itself, and 2 or less percent about the music. But that's a good thing, because metal is way more about the music rather than scene (varying by sub genre of course), meaning it can't be diluted by wanna-be poseurs leading to its death, as was the case with punk. If a poseur metal fad actually LASTED for once in history, I'd be scared shitless though. But the good thing is that it won't.

Companies:
I would say "Damage Inc" as it is one of 14 Metallica songs I don't promptly do everything in my power to turn off upon hearing. A lot of poseurs do it though. So I guess "The Wrecking Crew", until I see a poseur saying it.
Schools:
Old school metal. Fuck that Post-Blackened Neo-NuGlam Grindorama Screamocore ambient groove-crab Doomslam.
Interests:
TRUE Metal Elitism, Dressing like a dirtbag, Supporting my concert habit, Hating Metallica, Dipping, Steak, Alcoholic Beverages and drinking them (None of the rooty tooty fresh 'n' frooty pussy shit), Collecting Vinyl Records and all kinds of worthless Random shit, Metal culture, Computers, Laughing at the Christfags on Deicide videos, Leaving the reaction "ouch" on every Cannibal Corpse "Fucked with a Knife" video I can find, Trolling poseurs, Things of that nature.
Movies:
Early Horror films like the original Nosferatu and the original Frankenstein to name a couple well-known ones. The newest I can go is 80s-early 90s. Basically obscure, old, scary shit you've never heard of. I can't today's pathetic excuses for horror films, like the inexcusably monotonous "Paranormal Activity" or the countless "Saw" or "Scream" films that are just the same predictable, unoriginal bullshit over and over again. The old ones are the only way to go.

I read some books about metal culture as long as they don't suck, I've found good (or at least decent) ones to be: The sound of the Beast: the complete headbanging history of heavy metal, Mustaine: A Heavy Metal Memoir, Heavy Metal: the music and its culture, Hell bent for Leather: Confessions of a heavy metal addict, Metal: the definitive guide, A-Z of thrash metal.
