About this user
Rascals is a highly intelligent, compassionate border collie that responds quickly & eagerly when he is summoned. Rascals thrives on toys and is willing to please. He is even tempered, but very sensitive. He is a well marked black and white 45 pound male and has a well proportioned body.
Rascals doesn't tend to worry about much except occasionally seeing his reflection in the glass of the fire place at night. He does do a little barking and growling at that strange dog.
Now, along with being a dog owner there comes certain responsibilites: Food, water, shelter and such, but if you have an inside dog, (especially one that is over 45 pds) you have the responsibility of taking him outside when "nature calls".
This one winter morning it had snowed about 3 inches here where we live. To be honest I was not too thrilled about taking Rascals out to "potty" that morning. It was cold enough (12 degrees without the wind-chill at our place) that I had to bundle up and cover everything I could cover to take him out.
Once we got outside though my whole attitude changed, just being exposed to his infectious enthusiasm. It is amazing to me how much fun he can have in simple snow.
I had wondered how he would do with snow this year, being it is his 2nd winter and he is no longer a puppy. Well I shouldn't have wondered, because Rascals doesn't know he isn't a puppy, doesn't know he should slow down a little and act a little more mature. As we went out, he hit the snow running. He would look for the deepest snowdrift and run and jump right in the middle. He would kick up little snowballs when he jumped and then chase them.
You couldn't help but to laugh when you saw him playing with this strange, white, soft, cold creation, with which God had blessed us called snow.
After letting Rascals play for a little while we went back inside, and I got my coat and shoes off and got a towel out and dried his fur. It wasn't long before he found a warm place and was curled up contentedly taking a nap with not a care in the world!!
