OLPC is a community-driven project that has designed the XO laptop to help children learn, share and create. The XO is rugged, for outdoor classrooms and harsh environments. It is ultra-low-power and can be charged by the Sun.

We have over a million laptops in countries such as Peru, Uruguay, Ethiopia, Rwanda, Afghanistan, Mongolia, and Haiti. See the results on this channel and on our Flickr photosets:

Widows 95? Eww... Linux made it possible for One Laptop Per Child to exist. In turn OLPCF really helped to invent the netbook. I love Linux and I love One Laptop Per Child. One of the best TedTalks ever to boot!

I'm thinking about getting an XO. They have some on eBay. I might get VMware Workstation on it and install Windows 95!
