'The feeling that: yes! All this shit we've been told to like, we don't really like it because we really like this', by Gem Archer
About Me:
Currently, I think there are 2 things in the world that I'm sure (but I'm so damn young that I can't be sure of any f*cking thing), and that are the things that actually describe me:
1st it's my cousin, Maddy, my bestfriend, 'cause thanks to our friendship, we do know what friendship is and that's something just a few people know.
2nd it's music and yeah, I changed a lot when we talk about music, but I still loving music and that's what matters.
Going back in time... well, I used to be a ordinary teenager who listened to all the shit from MTV, that loved all the annoying counts that are MTV popstars . Who am I now, after 2 years? Well... I'm a 'dreamer dreams', lol (only Oasis fans can get it)... I can say, that 2 years after realising that MTV stars weren't the best musicians in the world, I'm a Beatles fan. LOL
I mean... I had that point in my life where I start realising: 'No, that's not good music, that's just rubbish!' And it took me where I am now.
It was kinda of an overdose of good music. First my father gave me his old Oasis Cd's and I loved it. I guess I'll never forget when in my 13th birthday, my brother was playing the Oasis cd and he was listening to Magic Pie, over and over again... I just fell in love. How can someone not fall in love with a song as Magic Pie... I mean: 'An extraordinary guy, can never have an ordinary day?'. That's what the world means. lol
Ok, first step. There I were, loving Oasis and still loving Britney Spears. Now that I look back... what a strange thing to do . LOL
Then... Mika. It was some months after Oasis, not much time I think. Well... my cousin, and I have to thank her for that, showed me the song 'Grace Kelly'. I immediately fell in love... I mean, that voice and Mika in that purple sweater I jusy went to my cousin: 'This guy is AMAZING!' and I knew it was coming, lol. I saw something different, I knew that guy had something different and I loved it, he was different than all the other pop boys... he had just something, and of course, I took a while to realise that the things I used to like, were just shit, but I did. Mika helped me w/ that. All his talk about being sick of the music in the street, well... I just started to understood you know. It made a lot of sense... The pop people were idiots who made awful music . That's why I keep saying 'I love pop, but just the good pop, not the shit that we are listening all the time' - and yes, that was Mika, a pop boy, who made me see that we can't just eat everything people give us, he made me see the need of having an opinion.
Then... to confirm, all the things that I have been thinking about great and bad music, Beatles get in my life. I think I'll never forget that day, my brother came home to spend the weekend, it was a regular thing, but he brought something new. When he arrived he told my father that he got curious and went to download some Beatles songs, to listen to the band that he knew how famous were but he never did listened. Then he sat down in the sofa, I was in my computer, doing my shit stuff, to busy to give a fuck for what my brother was saying... yeah, he was talking about Beatles, so what? They are probably boring... that was my thoughts at the time. He showed me a song and I got like 'yeah... it's cool. nothing special', but I was not caring, I didn't want to know, I didn't have any curiosity. But then... my brother showed me 'Elagnor Rigby' and... I mean... Who can be indifferent after listening to 'Elagnor Rigby'? Just if you are completely unbrainned ! Coz Elegnor Rigby is just AWESOME ! I went to my brother and I told something like 'THAT'S PERFECT!' (lol), then he showed me 'Strawberry Fields'... and one more time: Where the fuck in the whole fucking earth is there a people that wouldn't be fascinated after listening to Strawberry Fields? I mean... it's 'Strawberry Fields', man! It didn't take any long with Beatles, really soon I was in love with 'em... I mean, I think I felt in love as soon as I heard Elagnor Rigby... Not sure, lol, I was still a bit stupid at the time. lol (and I probably still a bit now :P)
And even if now, I'm way more into Oasis/Beatles than into Mika, even if I have all the rock 'n' roll soul... well... now there are a lot of things that make a lot of sense. I still enjoying Mika, and Katy Perry and Alphabeat and ... well... all the great pop bands I know, even when I turned a rock 'n' roll girl, it just means that they are really good. Cause as I said in the beginning... when everything changes, you understand that there are some things you do love and you realise that there are some things you though you enjoyed but you don't really do.
