My Grandfather passed away in 2002. I miss him dearly. This video is a Tribute / memorial for him. He was one of the people that I loved the most on this Earth. My Grandfather was a Prisoner of War during World War II. Captured in Germany for 9 months. He hardly ever talked about what he experienced during capture . When he did, it was hard for him to discuss. I do know from the things that he told me that he was forced to march in the Snow barefoot. He was forced to eat Grass , Worms etc... He was forced to eat out of the same bowls and pots that the prisoners had used for toilets. Imagine being treated that way. He and others did manage to escape capture. He told us that the Nazi camp was located in a fork in the road and that Russian Troops were making their way down both sides of the fork. He said that a mortar shell scared a mule enough that it ran through the fencing and he and others were able to escape and made their way back to friendly lines. He also told me that while everyone was running through the fence and trying to get away that the Nazis were shooting prisoners and riding through them on Horses cutting them down with swords.
