Explore the Ideas of Liberty
Welcome to LearnLiberty, a resource for learning about the ideas of a free society. Our goal is to provide a starting point for conversations on important questions:

• What is the nature of man and society?
• What are the best ways to organize human society?
• What is the proper role for government?

We believe that the classical liberal or libertarian tradition can offer compelling answers to these questions. Classical liberal ideas have deep intellectual roots, cultivated by thinkers such as John Locke, Adam Smith, the American Founders, and more recent scholars such as Friedrich Hayek and Milton Friedman. These thinkers emphasize the importance of free markets, voluntary exchange, individual rights, and peace.

Classical liberal thinkers do not agree on everything, and the speakers on LearnLiberty are no exception. We believe exploring and discussing these ideas is so important precisely because we do not all agree. We hope you will join our conversation, and help advance the understanding of these important ideas.

Through LearnLiberty, college professors and public intellectuals provide a resource for understanding:

• Disciplines such as economics, philosophy, history, political science, and law
• Contemporary issues and policy debates that impact individual liberty.

As you explore the videos, we encourage you to offer feedback. This is a new, experimental project, so your feedback will be critical in helping us to improve.

LearnLiberty.org is a project of the Institute for Humane Studies (IHS). Many of the faculty featured on this channel are speakers at IHS seminars for college students and recent graduates. For more information on IHS seminars and how to apply, go to http://www.theihs.org/summer-seminars .

Man, I've lost so much sleep pouring through the material you have put up so far. It's about time we've gotten something like LearnLiberty!

I think "Are the Poor Getting Poorer?" is probably the best video treatment of income distribution ever made... As the number of people insisting that I read Mother Jones' recent take on the topic increases, so will the number of times I link back to that video.

Recommending your site and channel to anyone wondering what my political background is, which would mean dozens of people in the coming weeks alone!

Math rules, however cute your grandma may be.
Nice channel! Found you through the uploader of the Romanian version of THE PHILOSOPY OF LIBERTY.
Keep up the good work.

well done with these vids--youtube needs more economic, common sense responses to statist propaganda.
