About Me:

Fox Amoore (interview):

When did you start learning music?
------------------------------ ------------------
I first started learning Piano from age 4, on my GrandMothers Crane & Sons upright Piano. I enjoyed teaching myself and learning songs by ear then playing them on it. I inherited it when she died and I still have it in my Studio. After a few years I took full Classical training and maxed out the top grades just after I turned 10. I later started learning other styles such as Jazz and Blues. Once I left school, I went on and studied and obtained a MA Degree in Composing and Popular music performance.

What has so far happened in your career?
------------------------------ ----------------
My first full-time job came when I turned 14, being the Keyboardist for a professional Show and Party band "The Rebels", later named to "Phoenix Four". Sometimes I wouldn't get back until 3am... and my school work suffered greatly the next day! What was also unusual, but in a good way, was me being with far older musicians... I learned so much from them! A major break came for me when I went to audition to join "The Get Back Band", headed by Lawrence "Paul Mcartney" Gilmour. I secured the position and started touring all over the world with them. One of my fondest memories is performing live at the Cavern Club in Liverpool on my 21st birthday! I still perform with them regularly to this day, especially at Beatles conventions and theatres.

Tell us a bit about your composing career and tools:
------------------------------ ----------------
I was always writing songs when I was still in single figures, but over the last few years I've been composing professionally. I've built up a studio which I use for myself and hiring out for others to record. I use a lot of the latest commercial sound libraries (East West, Vienna) and keyboards (Roland Fantom X8, Yamaha Tyros 3, Roland AX-Synth), Cubase 5, Tannoy monitors and an almost endless amount of ethnic instruments I like to collect. I've composed for companies like the BBC, Nintendo, and one of my personal favorites, "Gamer Tonight", an online video game parody show run by a friend.

Who influences you the most?
------------------------------ ----------
It's very hard to say, I listened to a lot of Film Music when I was yonger, as well as Classical. I adore the work of Thomas Newman and James Horner. I also admire a few keyboardists/Pianists, including Jordan Rudess (Whom I had the pleasure to meet whilst working for Roland), Keith Emerson, Chic Corea and Rick Wakeman.

What are your future ambitions?
------------------------------ -------------
I try not to see too far ahead, I try and focus on what I need to do for now. I very much appreciate the support my fans and friends give me. My only ambition really is to continue to learn and grow.

I wish I could do music as good as you. The most I can do is play El Shaddi on the piano. Even then i can only get so far in the song.
