poem of the week: A little girls death (secret admirer)

For years a little girl has past my window,
and on her little white skates,
around the block she would go.
She looked so happy even though shes alone,
and i wonder,
why she always stays away from home.
I wanted to get to know her,the little girl,
no older than me,
she reminds me of a delicate pearl.
Soon I watched her everyday,
and sometimes,
i would come out and watch her "play".
So happy, so young, so pure.
if someone was depressed,
she was the cure.
its been years and she has grown,
so have i,
but still she skates alone.
I want to be by her side, and hold her hand,
and mabye,
shed hold back and understand.
its been years and everything is the same,
i love her,
yet i dont even know her name.
My dad is reading the newspaper, listening to some tunes,
its 3:00
the little girls shoud be coming soon.
As she did i said, "look at this girl whos skating by"
my dad looksand says,
"why dont you go out and say hi?"
I walk out nervous, but the girl looking like a rose bud,
i shouted "HEY!"
she lost her balance and fell onto the concrete, making a hollow thud.
She looked at me with a hollow stare,
then i noticed,
blood was everywhere.
It seeked through her helmet, onto the ground, it felt like a dream,
when i noticed it was real,
i began to scream.
My dad called 911 who took her away from me,
i cried,
at what i had to see.
I was told the little girl died that night,
i couldnt sleep,
and i hugged my pillow tight.
I attended her funeral, but i didnt cry
this little girl
had died, all because i said hi.
