Whether you're currently enrolled in a language program or not, take advantage of free online instruction from an experienced teacher. The lessons will introduce new content to some and serve as a review for others.
Please use my PLAYLISTS. All the videos are grouped by subject (Grammar, Vocabulary, etc.) The videos are listed in the order I made them. You may also see a complete list on my website.
Teachers are most certainly welcome to use my videos to supplement their own lessons. I also approve FREE distribution of my videos (e.g., on English language blogs).
I welcome comments and feedback from teachers and students here on YouTube. Note: I no longer receive private messages through my YouTube or Gmail account. Also, I no longer approve Friend requests on YouTube. Please join me on EnglishCafe and send a Friend request to that account. Yes, I'm on Facebook, but I reserve that account for friends, colleagues, and other personal acquaintances.
Alternative forms of contact:
Teachers may use the comment section on my Wordpress blog. Students will find it easiest to contact me via my EnglishCafe.com account. (Sign up for a free account. Send me a friend request. Then send a private message.)
NOTE: A follow-up exercise is offered for each of my lessons (posted after April 2009) at http://www.EnglishCafe.com.

Thanks for your letter!
Tatiana
Hi Tatiana! No worries. Thank you for the feedback. I appreciate hearing from viewers. I'll keep your request for more "face time" in mind. I try to balance the text and the on-camera shots according to what I'm teaching. For example, in the series on English vowel sounds, I did a lot on camera because I knew learners needed to see how I pronounced my sounds and words. I may try to slightly increase use of on-camera shots in my next lesson for professionals. Thanks again. Best wishes!
Hi again. :)
ANSWER: be (base verb) - was/ were (simple past tense) - been (past participle)
You need the past participle "been" in PERFECT tenses.
- You've been very kind. (present perfect) / I had never been to a French restaurant before. (past perfect) / He'll have been living in the States for 10 years. (future perfect progressive) / The number has been saved on my cell phone. (present perfect in the passive voice)
You might like the tutorials on verb tenses posted on EnglishPage. Please ask more questions if you have them.
CORRECTIONS:
Hey Jennifer! How are you? I hope everything is going great :))
I'm still having a hard time understanding the word "been", like when you said it in the "The Jim and Jen Show": "I have caller ID, so the number's already been saved."
When do we use the word "been"?
Are there many possible ways to use it? (Yes, there are!)
ANSWER:
Pay attention to the initial statement. Is it affirmative or negative?
(+) I love to play the piano. - So do I. / I do, too. / (informal) Me too.
(-) I don't play very well. - Neither do I. / I don't either. / (informal) Me neither.
CORRECTIONS: Hey Jennifer!
First of all, I want you to know that you're an AMAZING teacher!
I'd like to know if there's any difference between either / too.
Example: I love to play the piano. /I love playing the piano.
Answers: Oh really? Me neither. / So do I.
Which answer is correct?
