Learn how to do a pole bend with this pole dancing lesson. Expert: Mai Yee
Video transcript:
My name is Mai Yee, I'm an instructor at Sheila Kelley's "S Factor" studio in Manhattan, New York. I've been doing this movement for five years now. It's a movement that combines ballet, palates, striptease and pole dancing. We have a website where you can get more information, and it is www.sfactor.com. And I'm here today to talk to you about pole dancing.. I'm going to show you a move that we call the Pole Bend at S Factor. It's a back bend using the pole for support. We're going to start to the left side of your pole, come about a foot and a half away, and have your feet hip width apart. You're going to reach your right hand back until it comes on the outside of the pole. Bring your shoulder to the pole. Lift up on the balls of your feet and push your hips up. Then you'll drop your head back and using your hand to control the speed, you're going to back bend using the pole for support to slowly sliding down the pole. Take your time and breathe. Let them see the beautiful curves of your body. When your head comes right above the ground you're going to tuck your chin into your chest and just let your spine slowly melt down. Let's do that, now with the left hand. Now, stand with your feet hip width apart. Lift back with your left hand until it comes to the outside of the pole. Bring your shoulder to the pole and lift up to demi-pointe. That's the balls of your feet. You're pushing your hips up and letting your head drop back. You're going to take a luxurious time rolling down. You can move hand on your body as well to extenuate the curves. When your head is right above the ground, tuck you're chin into your chest, and lay your spine down one bone at a time. And you'll reach your legs away, use your arms to support you to come up. Be sure when you're doing this trick that you move slowly. That shows off the beauty of the movement so much more.

Video transcript:
My name is Mai Yee, I'm an instructor at Sheila Kelley's "S Factor" studio in Manhattan, New York. I've been doing this movement for five years now. It's a movement that combines ballet, palates, striptease and pole dancing. We have a website where you can get more information, and it is www.sfactor.com . And I'm here today to talk to you about pole dancing. We have a website where you can get more information - and that's www.sfactor.com - and I'm here today to talk to you about Pole Dancing. I'm going to show you how to do a beautiful spinning trick that we call the Half-Pint at S Factor. It's a trick that doesn't take a lot of effort, but it's a bit of a brain-teaser, so you just want to follow the steps and allow it to happen. Just relax, follow the steps, and it'll happen. So your right hand comes above your head; you're on the left side of the pole. You're going to step on the ball of your left foot - come up high on the ball of your left foot - and reach your right leg behind you. Your right leg is going to spin backwards as your left hand comes across your chest onto the pole, and you're just going to leave that left foot down as that happens, and then the spin will happen. So here we go: right hand on the pole, step on the ball of your left foot, reach your right leg out, spin it backwards, hand comes to the pole, and the spin happens. So you don't have to do anything at all with the left leg. Just leave it down, and the pole naturally bends the back of your left leg. Let's do that with a walk now, give it a little more momentum. You're going to take a walk - step with your right foot, step with your left - come up, spin that right leg back, and spiral around. Everything you do with your right arm, let's do on your left as well, because you want to build your body up evenly on both sides. So we're going to take a step with our right foot, left foot, come up high on the ball of your right foot, reach your left leg out, hand comes to the pole, and it spins you around. And that is your Half-Pint! Enjoy it!

Learn how to make the best balloon animals for bachelorette parties with this balloon animal tutorial. Expert: Jonas Cain
Video transcript:
Hi, I'm Jonas Cain and I'm here at the Veritas Theatre at the beautiful Elms College in Chicopee, Massachusetts. I am a magician and a balloon sculptor having performed and provided entertainment solutions for many, many years. Visit my website at www.jonascain.com. And today I'm going to be talking about making balloon animals. A safe bet is the flower. The balloon flower is a great way to win over the heart. You can make a whole bouquet of flowers, you can make a whole bunch of them and put them together. So that is definitely a great one to do. Another thing to do is, also, just like the kids' parties, you don't what personal interests are. Maybe they really like horses? You know, so a good thing is to get interacting with them, find out what they really like. Maybe even before the party you could find out what they're really into. And even if you don't know how to make that balloon, like, maybe someone really likes princesses, you can learn how to make a crown and like a princess wand. Or, you can learn how to make a balloon that looks like a queen or something. So a good thing to do is to find out beforehand what they like, what they're into. Do a little research and practice, and you can show up and really wow them. A good way to find work making balloon sculptures at bachelorette parties: you can go to bridle expos, pass out your cards, flyers at these places. Another way is to actually get a booth at a bridal expo. That's a great way to not only get making balloon sculptures at bachelorette parties, but even at weddings in general. At the receptions, a lot of times they have kids, they want to keep them entertained. So those are great ways to find work in that field.

There are many many ways, you can perform at fairs, at festivals, at private parties, at corporate events. When i first started making balloon animals, i would do magic shows and it was an add-on sale. I would do my magic shows, at the end of the show i would stick around for an extra twenty minutes or a half hour making balloon animals for all the kids, so it was an easy way to break in with that. If you want to find work, you could just be starting out, you could go online, research local fairs, local festivals, you can look at sales flyers, see of anyone is having a grand opening. A lot of time they will want to hire people to attract families, so a balloon artist is definitely in demand so that's a great way to get your foot in the door even just give them a call say " Hey, I make balloon animals, how about i show up and do that." and you are shocked. So that's a great way to do that too and always we should have business cards printed up that has your contact information, that way as you are out there doing it you can hand out card so people can call you afterwards if they are having a party, so definitely if you do a good job you'll get work after it. Another way having a brochure or a flyer, you can have your pictures on there too, you can post them around town or hand those out as well so that's a great way to sell yourself as a balloon artist. I found my first job doing magic shows and what i would do is, i remember the first time when i was called to a magic show, i said " Hey, i also make balloon sculptures." so after the party, after the show i'll make a balloon for all the kids and they were like sure. So it was an easy way to make some extra bucks on the magic show too. The kids really, they bought it and the adults loved it too so it was a great way to get started.
