Annie Pattison began dreaming of becoming a professional singer when she was age four after watching the popular movie musical, "Grease". Olivia Newton John's vocal performances in "Grease" helped to inspire young Annie's own love for singing, a love and passion which has continued to grow ever since. Soon afterward, at age five, Annie sang in public at a charity fund-raiser where she was very well received. With her love for music and for singing continuing to grow, Annie came to find herself performing in many parts of Western Canada, often by special invitation at sporting events, weddings, at concerts and even at outdoor festivals. Having gained so much experience as a singer over the many months since her first performance, it was a wonderful next step for Annie when, at age 8, she became the official "National Anthem" singer for her own town's professional baseball team.
Annie then came to be invited to sing for every professional team in Calgary including The NHL Calgary Flames, The CFL Calgary Stampeders, The NLL Calgary Roughnecks and for the Canadian Winter Olympic hockey teams. Annie still shares her vocal talents with all of these great teams and she continues to support each one of them. Many other organizations including various clubs and even political groups regularly enjoy featuring Annie as their special guest singer at their various functions. Annie has also gained many fans through her wonderful music videos.
Annie holds the wonderful distinction of being the youngest person ever to be given a starring role in The Calgary Stampede Grandstand Show! This awesome event is held every July in Calgary. It consists of 11 straight nights of performances before an audience of over 25,000 people each night. Annie was only 9 years old when she was called upon to take on that starring role for this 2007 event and she won the hearts of many who were in attendence.
That same year, Annie was asked by Canadian Emmy Award-winning songwriter/composer, Dave Pierce to record a wonderful original Christmas song entitled, "Love For Christmas". Just after it's original release, Annie's lovely recording of "Love For Christmas" was played on over 1500 radio stations in 34 countries. Dave Pierce also accompanied Annie as she sang a touching rendition of this beautiful new Christmas song on The Breakfast TV Show on Canadian television. Today Dave Pierce is known as the composer of the music for the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2010 Olympics for which he was the Director of Music.
From 2008 to the present, Annie has continued sharing her talent at various "live" shows, through audio recordings and through her awesome videos. She may have started out as a little girl with dreams of being a singer, but Annie took those dreams and continues improving on her vocal skills, both through practice and through performing. Aside from her progress on flute, Annie's ability on piano, keyboard and guitar, which she sometimes uses to accompany herself as she sings, are ever on the increase thanks to her hard work and dedication.
Annie was the first place winner of Calgary Idol for 2009 and in 2010 she finished as a top finalist on the National TV Show, 'The Next Star". But these are only a start for Annie who is very ambitious, writing her own original songs now and setting her sights not only on a career as a singer, but on a musical career that she hopes will come to expand into a career in acting and modeling.
