Interesting points... however - If the government might confiscate my precious metals, then isn't it also possible that they might confiscate my precious home as well? After all, the pople who are creating the Republic-destroying conditions, and winning at it, are the same party members who will confiscate my precious metals. Since these are ruthless cunning people, I doubt that having a home will be very helpful as it is entirely non-liquid, and also easily confiscated by the government. In fact, much more easily confiscated than my precious metals, which are at least possible to hide and move to someplace safe. I'm just speculating on the logical consequences that seem to derive from your premise that at some point the government might confiscate precious metals. Yes, I am aware that gold was confiscated by the government in 1933. Anyway, I'd be curious to hear your thoughts on my supplimental speculation.
