Episode 10: The extensive excavations at Tel Dan in Northern Israel sets the stage to discuss the sin of King Jeroboam.
"Now this thing became a sin, for the people went to worship before the one as far as Dan." - 1 Kings 12:30
King Jeroboam reigned over the northern tribes of Israel. In an effort to keep his people from reverting back to the house of David in Judah he devised and implemented a plan to change both the place of worship as well as the times of worship - the moedim. Join the FFOZ tour as it makes its way through the ancient site of Tel Dan. Observe the steel frame representation of the altar that once stood at this cult worship site and served the golden calf that King Jeroboam had set up on the high place. This story, which took place at the foot of Mount Hermon, provides a valuable lesson for all Believers.

Episode 9: Sitting among the ruins of the ancient town of Korazin provides a setting to consider the amazing things that were done here. This Galilean village had witnessed many mighty works performed by our Master Yeshua. However "To whom much was given, of him much will be required..." (Luke 12:48) Several similar statements in the gospels reveal a most interesting perspective of the Master's teachings that should cause us to pause and consider their implications.

Episode 8: The archeological work at the ancient village of Korazin has unearthed some very remarkable finds. The Galilean town sits above the northern shore of the Sea of Galilee and is one of the primary towns in which Yeshua ministered. One of the artifacts uncovered is a stone chair known as the "Seat of Moses". This brings to mind the Master's words in Matthew 23 where he states:
"The scribes and the Pharisees sit on Moses' seat, so practice and observe whatever they tell you - but not what they do."

Episode 6: Touring the ruins of the ancient pagan cult center of Banyas located in northern Israel brings Matthew 16 to mind. Biblically known as Caesarea Philippi, Banyas was a site of a Greek pagan temple dedicated to Pan, a goat-footed god of music and goat herds. Is it possible that Yeshua and his disciples, all Torah observant Jews, could have come into proximity of this center of pagan worship? Could this location be "gates of Hades" mentioned in the Gospels?

Episode 7: Thinking about the holy Temple and the various services that took place there in a positive light is often a perspective that believers find difficult to embrace. Consider the following Psalm:
"Great is the LORD, and most worthy of praise, in the city of our God, his holy mountain. It is beautiful in its loftiness, the joy of the whole earth ... walk about Zion, go around her, count her towers, consider well her ramparts, view her citadels, that you may tell of them to the next generation. For this God is our God for ever and ever; he will be our guide even to the end." - Psalm 48:1-2,12-14
In reality, the Temple mount in Jerusalem where the Holy Temple once stood, is the holiest place in the world. In the spirit of the weeping prophet Jeremiah, who prophesied the coming destruction of the first temple, Yeshua also wept over the coming destruction of the second temple saying:
"I tell you the truth, not one stone here will be left on another." - Matthew 24:2 How accurate really was his prophecy?
