Good luck - I've seen someone lose 100+ lbs by changing their diet to a mainly raw vegetarian foods. Remember to ensure the following points if you are new to vegetarian diets:
- Vitamin B12 (2500mcg per week or about 250mcg daily).
- Vitamin D (15min of mid-day sun or 2,000 IU vitamin D2 or D3; take the supplement during winter months if you live north of 30 latitude)
- Iodine (150mcg/day - a bit of seaweed daily)
- DHA 250-500mg from algae.
- Omega 3 fatty acids - 3TBLS flax or chia seeds.
