It's actually simple group demographics really. You look at what the group with the most money (ie preppies) and you cater to them mostly. In the neighborhood I live in, we're average so we'd get average responce on fandom with JB fans and such. But you head up into the base of the mountains and the big newer houses, you'd find JB fanbrats and violent Twilight fans. Most likely because those parents didn't say no to them as a kid and instilled moral values on them.

By the way, LOVE your taste in books. I got my mom hooked on Decker and Peretti. :)
