As you'll notice my favourites range from music, to philosophy, science and religious debates even to conspiracy theories.. I add anything that piques my interest which I think deserves to be highlighted, note also that just because I favourite a video does not mean I agree with its message, only that I think it should be seen.

I am an agnostic atheist, but not a humanist.. I have no faith in a god (or anything that cannot be proven) nor do I have an abstract faith in humanity (humanism).

Feeding on from that, I am an antinatalist and that is in a large part due to my firm opinion that the suffering we and indeed most life on this planet endure is needless, how many ask themselves not "Can I be a good parent?" but "Do I have the 'right' to create another sentient life in this world which 'will' suffer"?

As the most intelligent species on this planet, it falls on our shoulders to take responsibility for the world we find ourselves thrust into, a heavy burden and one we should bear as such, for the sake of humanity and the sake of all life on this planet.

To go further on intelligence, if we can't logically agree as a species that life is an inherrently needless source of suffering we should atleast come to the conclusion that reducing it to the minimum is a vital goal for us to pursue.

We have to move forward and leave our ignorant superstitions and illogical belief's behind, we can't rely on a non-existant sky daddy or a mindless nature to dictate our future for us anymore.

Onto politics and society.. my political position could be said to be liberal, ofcourse given how broad a label that is I'd have to go into more detail than this little section allows to truly define where I stand.

I oppose the twisted version of feminism that now exists within western society. I want true equal opportunities for men and women, not a patriarchy or a matriarchy.

I don't think western society is ideal obviously and we should treat patriotism with the same level of contempt that we treat any bigotry, it only holds us back from giving our societies and politics honest and objective evaluations so we can improve them.

So where do I think we're heading with the future as we are now? Well it looks set to be controlled by the power hungry and the rich much like it always has been, one question is whether the world will become unified or remain fragmented but given the amount of factors involved in the answer to that question... I guess we'll have to wait and see right?

Will we grow up before we blow up? Who knows with us, the hopefull part of me says we might, the realist asks me who I'm kidding and the pessimist kicks me in the ass for asking.

Life is short, make the best of it while you can, if you can.

"Our passion for learning is the tool for our survival" - Carl Sagan. (1934 - 1996)

"Religious distress is at the same time the expression of real distress and the protest against real distress. Religion is the sigh of the oppressed creature, the heart of a heartless world, just as it is the spirit of a spiritless situation. It is the opium of the people. The abolition of religion as the illusory happiness of the people is required for their real happiness. The demand to give up the illusion about its condition is the demand to give up a condition which needs illusions." -Karl Marx (1818 - 1883)

"I do not fear death. I had been dead for billions and billions of years before I was born, and had not suffered the slightest inconvenience from it." - Mark Twain (1835 - 1910)

"Sleep is lovely, death is better still, not to have been born is of course the miracle." - Heinrich Heine (1797 - 1856)

"The question is not, "Can they reason?" nor, "Can they talk?" but rather, "Can they suffer?" - Jeremy Bentham (1748 - 1832)

I see you like the fantasy genre. Have you had a stab at the Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan? The first three books are terrific but then the plot slows down dramatically. However, everything can be forgiven for the first three books in the series. Btw, I loved the Dark Tower series as well ;)
