Did the lanc fly over north staffs at all on Friday (17th June)? In partic, a flyover of the birthplace of Reginald Mitchell near the Cheshire border.? Was ambling up the road near there early friday evening and could have sworn I saw a lanc fly over, only saw a quick glimpse, after that it was to far away to make out.

Despite not been old enough to remember the 2nd World War ,the sound of the Merlins in perfect harmony makes the hairs stand up on the neck,i can only imagine what terror the fliers faced when they heard the engines when they took off not knowing wether they would get home or not.The youngsters of today simply do not realise how much they owe to those brave youngsters of the 40s

Nice to see the flypast at the wedding and a really nice shot of the Hurricane alongside, on TV.
You missed mine though ;-)

I always think it's important to remember and keep history alive so we may learn and progress and the BBMF is living proof of keeping history alive, Well done.

The best time I have seen the BBMF I was standing on the valley ridge overlooking Turville and they flew over en-route home I guess but what a place to see them, It was like I was taken back in a time machine. Oh, and a DC3 flew past 5 min later :-)

No matter how many times I see these crates fly, it gives me such a thrill, I am taken back to the little boy watching them with my Grandfather. I deeply thank you for that BBMF.

Thank you for honoring those who served in this way...
We had a wonderful day at KEMBLE today.

Being privlidged to know a Lancaster Tail Gunner who served in 90Sqn - who is my REAL LIFE HERO; as he still proves his service as a Christian Preacher in the Wiltshire and Gloucstershire country Chapels and Churches - at the age of 87!!

I know that all in the Commonwealth who served and are thanful for those who served look with much grattitude and affection upon your serviceof rememberance - it is VERY special!!!

And for my wife young son and me to share this day with our Dad is very special - as we all 3 have served in HM Forces (My wife and I in the Royal Navy mostly with the Fleet Air Arm)...

THANK YOU!
