I graduated from the boro not too long ago and used to do news on FSE. I think they moved it to Compton or somewhere. It was pretty terribly run while I was there. Leadership was very poor and it wasn't taken seriously by student managers or the college. I tried to change that but got laughed...

They're usually around .5 carbon, though there seems to be some variation. I usually normalize them and then quench in cool water. Those track clips are neat. They would make good chisels or knives!

Railroad spikes are something close to 1050 steel (if they have the HC stamp.) In my video, you will see that I heat them to non-magnetic (cherry red) heat (difficult to see in the video because of bright sunlight, but believe me, it's hot!) and quench in water. I won't pretend these...
