The LGBT Project brings impact lawsuits in state and federal courts throughout the country—cases designed to have a significant effect on the lives of LGBT people. In coalition with other civil rights groups, we also lobby in Congress and support grassroots advocacy—from local school boards to state legislatures. As part of the broad civil liberties mission of the ACLU, the Project brings the LGBT community together with other social change movements in order to achieve a just society for all. Today, the ACLU brings more sexual orientation cases and advocacy initiatives than any other national civil rights organization.

I like your videos and I support equal rights to LGBT, however it is highly questionable that ACLU fights so hard for their rights, yet on the other hand supports the hate that the Westboro Baptist Church out of Topeka, KS spreads. They support the first amendment rights of a church that preaches hate and intolerance of homosexuality in such dramatic ways...protesting on college campuses, soldier's funerals, and LGBT sponsered events. Shame on ACLU.

Pitstopbarney, I'm curious where you heard about this. We've never heard of such a case, so someone misinformed you. The ACLU position would actually be the exact opposite - we support the Constitutional right to freedom of religion and if the prison censored religious expression in any way, we would look into whether we could do anything to stop it.
