It may surprise you to learn that I was a leftist, and totally anti-american. One day I realized that most of my beleifs were based on cynicism, and not facts. I hated the U.S. because I wanted to, not because it really deserved it, and that it wasn't worth hating the U.S. when they're the only ones activiely fighting and opposing far worse forces in the world, namely communist, fascist, and religious totalitarianism. The U.S. is far more of a force for liberty than for tyranny, and if you want to argue the opposite, feel free to cite how many countries the Soviet Union, al-Qaeda, or Saddam Hussein liberated.

You should actually look up Saddam's incredibly under reported interview with George Piro of the FBI, he states it was always his intention to restart his nuclear and WMD programs, and that he purposely misled the world into thinking he still had WMDs, because he was afraid of looking weak if he said he didn't have any. Far from being a victim of George W. Bush's lies, he was in fact a manipulative tyrant, who wanted WMDs but couldn't restart his program because U.N. sanctions restricted him.
