Books: Bible:
Christ said Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,For they shall be filled. Matthew 5:6
Interesting facts: In the book of Job it is the Lord God who instigates the trial of Job. For whos benefit? Jobs? His family/friends? Satans? Gods? No the conclusion is the test was for the Sons of God who presented themselves before the Lord. Further reading on the Sons of God (Angels) can be found online from the book of Enoch. Enoch walked this Earth for three hundred and sixty-five years and then was taken by the Lord Gen 5:23-24 The book of Jude in the NT quotes from the book of Enoch.
Also, the Book of Tobit which can be found in the Catholic Bible tells the tale of Tobit and Tobias. The Arch Angel Raphael is featured again as he is in the book of Enoch. There are many tales of the Sons of God littered through out the Old Testament. Let's bear in mind that not only Satan roamed about the Earth in the book of Job but also the Lord himself with a couple of pals (Angels/Sons of God) this can be read in Gen:18
Again we find the importance of the sons of God when we read Matthew 11:11-12 Christ says the violant try to take the Kingdom of Heaven by force.
Leading on from the story of Sodom there is another great truth that is revealed in scripture. The Lord God says exactly why he destroyed Sodom and it had little to do with homosexuality. Even though the word sodomy comes from the tale in Genesis.
Now this was the sin of Sodom: She and her daughters were arrogant, overfed and unconcerned; they did not help the poor and needy. They were haughty and did detestable things before me. Therefore I did away with them as you have seen.
Ezekiel 16:49-50
In fact the book of Ezekial is a book well worth reading. This dispels all pre-destination talk because the Lord God was so angry with the Israelis at that time that he said....
even though Noah, Daniel, and Job were in it, as I live, says the Lord GOD, they would deliver neither son nor daughter; they would deliver only themselves by their righteousness.
Ezekiel 14:20
Again in scripture we find the Lord God about to change his mind because of his anger....
And the LORD said unto Moses, I have seen this people, and, behold, it [is] a stiffnecked people:
Now therefore let me alone, that my wrath may wax hot against them, and that I may consume them: and I will make of thee a great nation.
And Moses besought the LORD his God, and said, LORD, why doth thy wrath wax hot against thy people, which thou hast brought forth out of the land of Egypt with great power, and with a mighty hand?
Wherefore should the Egyptians speak, and say, For mischief did he bring them out, to slay them in the mountains, and to consume them from the face of the earth? Turn from thy fierce wrath, and repent of this evil against thy people.
Remember Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, thy servants, to whom thou swarest by thine own self, and saidst unto them, I will multiply your seed as the stars of heaven, and all this land that I have spoken of will I give unto your seed, and they shall inherit [it] for ever.
And the LORD repented of the evil which he thought to do unto his people.
Exodus 32:914______________________________________
Mal 3:5
At that time I will put you on trial. I will be a ready witness against all sorcerers and adulterers and liars. I will speak against those who cheat employees of their wages, who oppress widows and orphans, or who deprive the foreigners living among you of justice, for these people do not fear me says the Lord Almighty.
Mal 4:5 Look, I am sending you the prophet Elijah before the great and dreadful day of the Lord arrives.
Mal 4:6 His preaching will turn the hearts of parents to their children, and the hearts of children to their parents. Otherwise I will come and strike the land with a curse.

of the righteous man is beset on
all sides by the inequities of the
selfish and the tyranny of evil
men. Blessed is he who, in the
name of charity and good will,
shepherds the weak through the
valley of darkness, for he is truly
his brother's keeper and the finder
of lost children. And I will
strike down upon thee with great
vengeance and furious anger those
who attempt to poison and destroy
my brothers. And you will know my
name is the Lord when I lay my
vengeance upon you."

You can read all about Ruth in the Bible. The book of Ruth. She was not of the 12 tribes but was a loyal and rightous woman.
You might want to read Jeremaih 30:9 as well concerning the ressurection of King David. Many Christians try to swap this scripture with Jesus but I believe that is wrong. On the sermon on the mount Christ calls Jerusalem the City of the Great King Matthew 5:34-35

God loves the rightous and the Father of Israel (Jacob) was not rightous in his actions. He took advantage of his brother and tricked his Father Isaac on his death bed. But the Lord keeps his promises.
For reading on Jesus words about his return please read Matthew chapter 25.

Ya'qûb [Jacob] (PBUH) was a Allah's prophet. How are you saying that? "..of Jacob who was a liar and deceiver.."?
[So when he had turned away from them and from those whom they worshipped besides Allâh, We gave him Ishâq (Isaac) and Ya'qûb (Jacob), and each one of them We made a Prophet] Holy Qur'an 19:49
[Or say you that Ibrâhim (Abraham), Ismâ'il (Ishmael), Ishâq (Isaac), Ya'qûb (Jacob) and Al-Asbât (the offspring of the twelve sons of Ya'qûb (Jacob)) were Jews or Christians? Say, "Do you know better or does Allâh (knows better ... that they all were Muslims)? And who is more unjust than he who conceals the testimony (i.e. to believe in Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) when he comes, as is written in their Books he has from Allâh? And Allâh is not unaware of what you do.] 02:140
peace be upon you.
