In a way, as you inhale, let the air reverberate off the back of your throat.
Have you seen 'The Grudge'? If you can do the noise off that, then you're basically there.
Only other way i could think of explaining it is like faining a croaky throat, basically because you can make perfect frog sounds with inhales..

As a tip, and i know it does suck when you wanna get right into it,
Make sure you do some scales in both a talking voice, a singing voice and a screaming voice (if possible) before belting or anything.
Also, warm water is good.
Haha.. i don't often do that, but when i do i can come out of screaming for like an hour without any pain or discomfort whatsoever.

Would be easier if you posted a video, i might post a very short instructional one soon, because a few people have asked.
Anyways, I used a few different screams.
In the Silverstein and AFA (i think) vids i as using what apparently sounds like a black metal scream, it's alot harder to control but has more range and is less damaging to your voice (i have heard)
In my Parkway stuff, because Winston's voice is fucking basically straight out rasp, or at least it sounds like it, that's what i tried, just sort of a controlled and safe shout.. kinda manipulation of the throat, which isn't particularly good for you unless you've made your throat pretty resilient from screaming alot.
In some of the vids i also used inhale screams, which are only really good for pig vocals and extremely high parts like some JFAC and BMTH songs.
Was there anything you wanted to know in particular?
Yeah i'm not too keen on singing, can't be bothered with it lol.
