Hey Ryan, Love your channel. I'm learning a lot from you man about the tone. I have a question regarding you video on reamping in 2014......Yeah sorry this is back to the future :-)
I have a Mesa Roadster, a Radial JCR reamp box a torpedo live and a Radial J48 DI box. If I record my first track with all the effects and the desired tone in my DAW passing through my audio interface, and my second track is my DI signal, can I reamp that DI signal with a different amp setting in order to get a proper Left/Right panning that would sound huge. Or is it still better to use 2 different takes ?
Finally, for double tracking, would you use the same amp or would you prefer using a 5150 (example here) in combination to the MESA ?
I could have asked Ola Englund, Keith Merrow but even if they use different amps, their tone is always the same. I prefer the way you work !
Keep your good working Fluff.....We need you !
Ciao !
Hey Fluff. What do you think of the Focusrite Scarlet 2i2 for recording DI for cab impulses and software amps for metal/rock? I'm thinking of getting one soon but I was wondering what you think. Or should i get the 2i4 ? What do you recommend? Thanks!
Apologies for the delay in getting back with you - I haven't ever noticed any clipping issues? Seems to be a very reliable interface. Mine is probably two years old, and I really haven't understood exactly the 2nd Gen updates, but I have been getting lots of info from Focusrite about it. Apparently the Clarett line is noticeably better, but it's also about twice the price, unfortunately! But my 2i4 has served me very well. Great interface.
Thanks! The reason i was thinking about the 2i4 was because of the pads as the first gen 2i2 had serious clipping problems. What about the second gen? Does it have any clipping problems?
Fluff, Sleep City is one of the best damn songs I have heard in the last decade. Not even kidding, well done! Amazing groove and such a soulful vocal, damn dude.
Hi Ryan! This question is actually in reference to a comment you made on a video you were in on Rob Scallon's channel. In that video I think you mentioned that for Drop B you were stringing your guitars with a .70 in the low E position. My question is - did you modify your tuners to allow for the extra "girth"? I have a set of strings from Cleartone that include a .70, but they won't fit through the holes in my tuners
Hey man
if i want to change the tubes for my Peavey 6506 Mini Head , what do you recommend for that ? mostly i play metal
hope to hear from you soon
cheers
Hello! I came across a video that you had uploaded on YouTube regarding guitar sims. I was very impressed with it and wanted to see if I could pay you guys to program some drums for an album of mine that I'm remaking as well as put some sims on my guitar DI’s. I don't know if you guys mix or master as well, but it's definitely something I want to talk to you about. If you’re interested in this project, let me know!
hey fluff, did you ever rock life of agony's:river runs red album? Thought those riffs were awesome growing up.. I still love that record ha.. peace from reno, nv
Hey, whats up? I recently have found big interests in the 500 series modules. Would you accept my request for a review on would could possibly the best 500 series modules for vocals? I want to be able to apply what you record on a DAW as well as playing live using a 500 series workhorse cube from Radial.
Please please PLEASE make a ''how i mixed' video on Binary Metal. That is one of my favorite mixes, and the fact that you make the 'how i mixed' videos is perfect!
