Hey Brad, I had a quick question for you. I just bought one of your TKMC's and I was just wondering what refill cartridges fall into the Multiple Cartridge list. Is it just the Parker Quinkflow Ball Point & Quink Gel Pen cartridges, or are there others? Thanks.
+Don C Doesn't have to be Parker brand, just "parker style" When you buy a space pen, it comes with an adapter to make it parker style for instance. There are more parker style refills than any other refill style I believe. (it's just the shape) Thanks for the support!
Hi Brad,
I was working on a CNC conversion of a manual mill. After going to the NYC CNC Open House I am now looking at getting a Tormach 1100. I seem to remember that in one of your videos may have had some negative things to say about Tormach or your 1100 but you didn't go into detail.
I know your busy but I would appreciate it if you could send be a message and tell me of any problems you've had with Tormach or your 1100.
Thanks
Jessie
Mach 3 is very buggy, but seems they have that worked out now. So you should be good to go, although I'd opt for a used VMC on eBay before I'd ever get a tormach again.
Hey man, love your channel. so inspired. I have been making pens on a manual wood lathe and have started on a metal lathe using taps and dies. Really want to make the switch to cnc. Thinking on the tormach 15 slant lathe but it costs a fortune to get it in canada. I see you have a different lathe, was is a conversion you did yourself?
Also want to get a mill and am thinking novakon.
Thanks
What made you choose the 3d printer you bought? Im looking for a good kit or build. There must be a reason you bought the one you did instead of building as it seems you can build anything. Keep up the good work. still sick?
+drShackleford I started with one I built - Prusa - worthless! If you want my 3D printer, I have a link on my website under "my favorite things" that will get you the same one. yeah, I'm still sick :( Didn't sleep at all last night.
Thanks for subscribing to my channel! I should have some more footage on the Hawken sights posted in a couple days. Comments and suggestions are always welcome. Thanks and keep watching!
Any chance on showing some more of what you have to do with the Ti pen tubes before assembly? I see marks that were on the original tube, the writing is what I am talking about. Do you just have to buff them out, tumble them, or something else?
Cool that you showed the button making on the computer then took it right to the rig to bang it out. You mentioned a magnet for the TKRZR too. With that and the button, don't give away all the secrets to China...
+Seth Straughan Yeah, I caught that too, didn't mean to tell what was next for the button. Is there a reason you comment on my channel, instead of video? It's harder to find and reply. Thanks buddy!
Do you have any Taig specific tips for someone starting out? Did you have any training or understanding of machining before you got your first machine? Thx! Love your channel, between you and the Johns I feel like I learn/understand more than watching the oldtimers like ox or Fenner.
+icepick method I started with a bare Taig and CNC'd it myself and learned how to use it all myself. Zero experience on any of that. You will break tons of endmills, but just keep pushing, you will get it. I say spend every waking moment reading cnczone and watching YouTube. You will learn more from us in CNC, but general shop practices or "ideas" you are better off with Ox and Fenner. Hope you watch Abom79 too! Shadon HKW has has some good stuff lately aswell. Be sure to watch every video MRPETE222 has made aswell. oh I could go on for days, lol
I was going to do it on Kickstarter but they rejected my project because of their "no website" policy(Even though many of the products later become retail websites) and also after the Above the Game scandal.
I opted for IndieGoGo because it's a better platform where people can donate anonymously.
Take care,
Blake
