    My PlayHouse (Morten Hjorth)
Hi +Leon Petrić  I do not fix as many servers as i´d like,, i work a big place and we have services agreements on most of the server. But from time to time i get to fix/play wit something interesting. There are good jobs to get doing servers and computers,,, what the future brings, nobody knows! If you wanna get stated,, get your self some old crap to play with,, you lean a lot from trying to get an old server up and running. Thank you for watching! :-)

Morten, have you spotted this chap... Specifically this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xGcc7-KF-QQ#t=996.369405 at the 16 minute mark (ish) he takes a dremel to a PCIe x8 card, to "make it fit into a PCIe x1 slot... Could this work for your graphics card fitting into a server?.... Hmmm... I wonder
    My PlayHouse (Morten Hjorth)
Hi Lord Xelous Thank You very much! I kind of did the same thing. I just opened up the slot, to let the pines stick out. Thank you for watching! :-)

I'd like to give you some changes to your server to make it more space-efficient and energy efficient. They are shown here: http://www.techworld.com.au/article/216326/silence_your_servers_it_quiet_it_green_it_rack_o_my_dreams/ http://www.xrackpro.com/ http://www.belden.com/blog/datacenters/5-Space-Saving-Strategies-to-Try-in-Your-Data-Center.cfm Anyway, what do you think if you would do a video about making your data center more space efficient, energy efficient, and silent? It is gonna be a big one. As in, the biggest project you would do at your PlayHouse.

Video Nvidia Grid K1 Pass-Through working on Microsoft Server 2016 - 417. Morten, should the "esxcli" command be executed with lower case letter "l"; not number 1?  Is it needed to be done in the ESXi host shell ? Is that procedure needed? I am a bit confused on that since it failed to work in the video (purple screen). After that, in your video, the ESXi was reinstalled, a new VM created and GRID K1 passthrough done in vSphere to add a PCI device to such new VM. Then NVIDIA drivers installed on the VM itself. This seemed to work for your video. So the "esxcli" command in the VMware host is not needed to do? In addition, could you share the link to the document you have to run such commands?   I have an IBM System x3650 M4 with VMware ESXi 5.5. The VMs are Windows 7 64 Bit, SP1 running with ThinClients.Nice personality, Thank You for the vids; very helpful.

Hi, I have watch every videos from you so far. In my Datacenter I have 2 HP DL360G7. So far I have been using ESXi the free version from VMWare. Can you tell me, what it will cost me to use vCenter? Do you have to pay monthly subscription to VMWare? I see a license for up to 3 Node for about 500 USD. Thank you. Keep the good work.

Hi Morten, I love all your video's; I am glad that, you have decided to impart your experiences and knowledge to others, I have learned so much from you. Keep up the great work. I have a newbie question, I have already purchased IBM x3650 M3 Server 2x2.13GHz QC, a Dell PowerEdge R710 8-Core 2.5" Server and now I want to buy a Dell EqualLogic Raid Array 14x 750gb SATA, PS300 Ps200 Ps100 Tested, used (the notes say: Tested and working but can't figure out if this a ps100, ps200 or ps300. It has 14 750gb seafarers SATA hard drives. Comes with two power supplies) . What do you think, they want $359 Any help with this would be great, Thank you for all your wisdom
    My PlayHouse (Morten Hjorth)

Hi Morten, I was wondering if you have ever tried to install 8Gb dimms in x3650 (M1)? I know that IBM says they will only take 4Gb dimms. But if you have some to try it would save me buying them to try it. Even if it still only takes 48Gb total the power savings would be worth it to me. Thank You :)
