Hi Christopher, I am a new viewer and of course, fell in love with your grandma. Thank you so much for making these videos. It honors her and all our other missing grandmas. I love the recipes, seeing her using vintage utensils and especially her spunky take on life. The mid-west accent also warms my heart. What a wonderful legacy she left. jane
I discovered this channel just the other day, I watched a video of Clara cooking a meal and sharing stories from the Great Depression. I was hooked, and then I found out she passed. :( The video of you, her grandson (and the one who was smart enough to know she should be captured on video and shared with the world), updating us and thanking everyone for watching actually made me cry. It makes me cherish my own grandma more. I only have one grandparent left and she is 83 years old. May Clara rest in peace.
Thank you for sharing these videos. I have watched @ least ten so far. My mom & dad lived through the depression. In our family, there were nine kids. These videos brought back many memories. I am almost 62 & I still cook from scratch. :-) The video that got me laughing was to see Clara making coffee, I make mine pretty much the same way. Have done so for years. Again, thank you.
I love this precious woman. I have only "known" her a couple of weeks. I will watch all these videos and buy her cookbook...a keeper for sure! Thank you for sharing her...what a treasure she is...so sorry she passed.
i just found your videos and i'm in love! she reminds me of my great grandma so thank you for doing these videos! i'm wondering is Clara still around?
+Amanda Hoeve Clara passed in 2013. There is a video by her grandson that tells her fans of her passing.."Clara in memorium" on youtube. I love her too. I will be getting her cookbook....Amazon has it.
I stumbled across these videos looking for a tomato sauce recipe and I fell in love with them. A few years ago I moved back home with my grandmother to help out around the house. Every night when I come home from work we cook dinner together. I cherish the time I have with my aging grandmother she is 78 and still full of life and love. I hope to have as many years with her as you have had with Clara. The stories my grandmother and Clara tell are so full of wisdom and deeper meaning then just passing the time and they are worth listening to. God bless your family and Clara.
In his grip

RIP Clara, you will be missed! I've known about your channel for a while and I hope your legacy will continue to be carried down to your great grandchildren :)
Im sorry for your loss. Your Nana reminds me of my Nana who passed about the same age. She lived through WWI in England as a child and WWII and the Great Depression here in the states. Those were tough times and it shaped tough but graceful women. I'm glad you were able to capture some of her legacy.
