Dan, A number of years ago my wife and I bought a really nice Garrett. Just to let you know we live in the western U,S. The Garretts model was a ADS 7. It came with a nice case 2 coils, a good caxe, 2 kinds of battery holders with thee ability to run either on 6 x 9 volt alkaline batteries or 4 NiCads (rechargeables) The detector still runs just fine, but I know that thee electronics are old 9I think the detector runs at 12 kilo hertz (which is a very low frequency compared to today's standards, some of the really good detectors are running in ther 50-80 Mega Hertz range --- able to go deeper and more accurate..--- Do you think it's worth while, I'm nearly 70 yrs old now and I have serious health problems but walking would help a lot.....I don;e have any idea how much if any thing the old Garrett is worth if anything I paid abut $6-700 usd for it new and we love the sport, but we live on a fix income now would it be worth buying a new one?
Thanks for your time, Mike
Hi Dan, Have you thought about detecting around some of the old USAF and RAF air drones scattered around the UK? I've seen pictures that still show some of the old buildings and control towers that are still standing. I've also seen old photos of RAF fighters hidden under trees along the run ways. This would be a super fun hunt.
Hey Dan, you're welcome any time to come dig in the Cariboo Gold Rush area of central British Columbia. Lots here within an hours drive of me. Better in the late spring though, so start planning a trip :)
hi dan came across your videos whilst looking for info on metal detecting, we as a WHOLE FAMILY are now totally addicted to your channel the kids love the wacky stuff you get up to on your travels but as an adult I can also see them learning from watching your experiences, we are now buying 5 detectors for the whole family instead of just one for me, but it will be great family time keep the videos coming.

Hi Dan, John here again. I Google Earthed your Daravan park and the town near you. It looks like a great place to live, without tons of people and heavy car traffic. And the view of the cliffs and water are priceless. I always say if want to meet the real people of a country, go to the small towns when being friendly is a way of life. When I was stationed in Germany in the Army I got lost and ended up in a very small town. The people there seemed to have fun helping me find my way, I'll always remember that.
Deep Digger Dan is funny as heck! I Personally suggest everyone to view his videos of exploration and adventure,,and also he finds some really cool stuff. Thanks to him ,I want metal detectors for the whole family just to see what we can find.Great adventure, exercise and a great way to learn about history!" Come On Get In!"
I think you should do a video where you are allowed to only use one of those cheapo kiddy detectors. I brought them for my kids years ago and they loved using them on the beach but it would be interesting to see how you coped as a pro approach lol.
