Heya CP ... have you ever heard of this stuff?
CadWeld Oneshot https://www.erico.com/category.asp?category=R2564
It "welds" the ground cable to the ground post instead of using an acorn nut. Seems decent and I'll likely try it out unless I come up with a downside in the next day or so.
your setup w/ the harris bag, is that the closest that you can get w/ civilian HF radios to operating in a military style? I'm looking for a setup that can be hooked up while in a ruck.
Mil style is a loose term. That Harris bag does well with the IC-7200. However, AMP-3.net makes a great bag for the FT-817ND. I would never ruck a radio.
hi and firstly many thanks for the videos they are brilliant, even this side of the pond they are very helpful. as a suggestion for a new topic for a set of videos, like a lot of newbies i am listening to the radio and not understanding what i am listening too. forget the set up and the antennas an just the sounds we hear, if you did a video on a single noise type and say "this noise is caused by light bulbs " and then play the sound and on another video play the sound of say a poor signal and explain how on my rig i can improve the quality with the swr or antenna tuner and so forth , every thing so far that you have done is on the physical set up and who it works, can you consider explaining what the amateur is hearing and why or what to do about it. a lot of us watching the videos and so forth do use the radio but dont understand what we are listening to or how to improve it, if you like i can forward an email address where we can go into detail more with this idea.
the videos only want to be short and to the point, say less than 2 minutes
Sorry but the wife sets the retreat time schedule and it's unpublished (even for me). However, I do try to get to the retreat twice a month. I can run voice but not my primary mode.
I 've seen your video with Icom IC-7200, where it is presented with carrying racks in both of its sides.
I have a Yaesu FT-450D I am interested for carrying racks for it. Does anybody knows where to find (buy) these?
If anyone knows please post it to me through FB.
I seen u installed a cb radio in a Nissan frontier 4wd I was wondering what all I will need to do that to my 2012 Nissan frontier or do u install them for people if u do how much would it cost for you to install it for me
+David Hanning David it's not a CB radio, it's a dual-band Amateur (Ham) radio. I do not install radios for a living but your local Tow-Way radio shop should be able to do it for around $150.00 bucks.
Commsprepper - I am having lots of trouble getting my TNC-X to work with my Beofeng UV-5R. When I connect the SP and MIC cables into the radio and turn it on, the radio changes to and stays in TX mode regardless of what VOX setting I use. If I turn VOX completely off, I can't initiate a transmission. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated and thanks for all the informative videos. Software is RMS Express.
Great channel my friend, I got here from TRPrepper and subbed! Hope you can check out my channel and maybe give me a sub! Hope you have a great weekend and I look forward to catching up on some of your vid's!
Peace, David
Hi CP
I recently heard of a program called "AIRCHAT" that allow p2p computer comunications. Did you? If you have any opinion you'd like to share I'll greatly appreciate it. Thanks
