EXTREMELY UPSET CUSTOMER: Thursday, October 8th, 2015 I purchased with cash $600 worth of Vanilla pre-paid Mastercards at a Walmart location at 11:03am, after being in the store for just over 30 minutes. I purchased the cards as directed by the Walmart staff member as I needed them for a wireless device. After having issues and coming to find out I shouldn't have purchased the cards to begin with, and spending an additional 3 hours there with my 1 year old son, I wanted my money refunded to me as I bought them with cash. Walmart was willing to do so due to their errors. After getting Mangers involved to refund me my money, we came to find out that the 3 $200 pre-paid Mastercards were never activated - therefore Walmart could not refund me my $600 cash that I had just given them 3 hours before. At 1:38pm, one of the many Walmart staff/management I was dealing with got Mastercard on the phone, faxed in the proof of purchase and my ID in order to get the cards activated for me immediately so that Walmart could refund me my money. They stayed on the phone with the Mastercard customer service rep until confirmation that the documents were received and passed on to the correct department to have this rectified. I did not want to leave the store without my money, however, it was now 5pm, I had been in the store since 10:30am with my 1 year old son, had a walmart customer complain that my son was crying at one point in the store, had Mastercard tell me that they couldn't fix the problem right away and I would have to just wait until someone looked at the documents and activated my cards, and was also late picking up my husband from work, I left the store extremely frustrated, upset and without my $623.22 (including taxes) and three $200 Vanila Mastercards with no balance on them. Friday, October 9th, I returned to the store to see what had been done. The reason being that I had just moved to my home 3 days before all of this and had not yet gotten phone/internet connections hooked up as of yet, and therefore no one from Walmart or Mastercard could contact me. Upon returning to the store, one of the Walmart staff I had dealt with the day before had contacted Mastercard again that afternoon to find out if they had viewed the documents and activated my cards, to which he was told that the files had been received but no decision had been made yet. I wanted someone to do something and turned to Walmart for an answer. They told me if I called Mastercard and got them to activate the cards that minute they would take the cards and use them to buy Walmart gift cards and then refund me my $623.22 cash which I gave them the day before. It was now 4pm, I had been in walmart for about 45 minutes and finally got a Mastercard CS on the phone who didn't help me at all and said that the documents sent the day before at 1:38pm were never received!!!! I was livid!!! Walmart still had copies of the documents sent with the time on them. I request a Supervisor and after being on hold again, got one on the phone - even though the original CS told me that they wouldn't be able to help me anyways. The Supervisor at Mastercard listen to my issue and then requested we send the documentation again as I told him what Walmart was willing to do if they could get the cards activated right then. I stayed on the phone to make sure he received the documents and he then forwarded them off to the department that activates cards with a rush put on it including a detailed message with what I had been going through. After all this at 5:15pm, he finally notified me that even though he sent the documentation at 5pm the department closed and would not be open again until MONDAY!!! Therefore NO ONE would even be looking at my ticket and documents to activate my cards! This was UNBELIEVABLE! After going through all this, I spend another 2 hours at Walmart for nothing! I then asked for a Manager and ended up talking to Brian a second level Supervisor at Mastercard. He informed me that since the department was closed they could do nothing to help me but that in 24-48 hours my cards would be activated. This was a little bit of hope that by today my cards would be working. I left the Walmart store AGAIN WITH NOTHING DONE AND WITHOUT MY MONEY. This morning, I called the 1-800 # on he cards to see if any activation had happened. Upon talking to the CS rep, ID #5062, she informed me that the cards were not activated. Furthermore she told me that the 24-28 hours that the Supervisor advised me of the day before was BUSINESS HOURS. Meaning that since it is now the weekend, nothing will be done with my cards until MONDAY! I felt like I was told that the day before just to shut me up as I was extremely upset and frustrated!!! That supervisor gave me the hope that I may have my money back sooner than I was previously being told. The bigger issue to me also was that it is Thanksgiving weekend here and I had many uses for that money. By the time these stupid cards get activated, my holiday weekend will be over and ruined! I have $40 to my name until these cards are activated!! What kind of service is this?!?! I realize that technology isn't perfect and things happen, but how do you not have a system in place for something like this to be rectified immediately!?! I spent TWO BUSINESS DAYS at Walmart trying to fix this and by the time your staff took it serious enough to escalate it and put a rush on it, the department was closed and wasn't going to open for 2 additional days!!! I spent my time and missed obligations I had in order to get someone from your company to help me!! The day I purchased those cards this should have been escalated as your staff would have known that once Friday at 5pm came around no one would be able to help me until MONDAY. I will NEVER purchase your products again. I want someone to contact me regarding this ASAP. And I will continue to do my due diligence and contact every number, email and social media outlet so make you aware of what a nightmare purchasing your cards has turned into. Believe me when I say this isn't even every detail of what I went through and I have had to cancel my Thanksgiving dinner as I can't even afford to purchase it now.
Boycott against Russia was near limit,try this hostile act again and you will have a lot of customers less.Business is Business and politics is politics.
Don't miss a payment, or else that T.V. that you just bought with your card will go from $200 dollars to $900 dollars instantly. Because all they care about is money. Thank you for spending more than what you have and being forced to be our work horse.
I have a income and I clearly showed that i make a few hundred dollars profit after i pay my rent and needs yet because I have disability mastercard denies my application. Its hating crappy companies like this that keep honest people from being able to accomplish anything and earn a living. For shame. Don't support these dogs.
