Opinion - Nirvana (Studio Grunge cover by Steve)

Here it is folks, my latest cover! Have a read and enjoy :)

In september 1990 Kurt Cobain played a song on a radio station that he titled 'Opinion'.

Here's a link to the original and only recording http://www.youtube.com/watc...

To my knowledge there are no studio recordings of Opinion, just the radio recording that has been released on several CD's and records, So i decided to make my very own rendition of what i think a studio recording would have sounded like had Nirvana recorded it.

Although i'm aware there are probably electric covers of this song around, I opted not to listen to them so everything i thought of came from my own head.

Since the closest album is Nevermind (going by release date) i tried my best to give it the Nevermind sound.

I played a few similar licks and riffs on drums and guitars that you can hear on Nevermind (and a couple from In Utero and Incesticide) and even equalised my vocals how Butch Vig would have EQ'd Kurts vocals during recording to make this cover sound as authentic as possible.

obviously i don't have Cobains vocals so to sound as much as i could like him i mimicked his accent as best as i could and harmonised where i thought appropriate.

I played as best as i could to match how i think Nirvana would have played this song.

Ill pop it up on soundcloud so you can listen whenever :)

(also a belated happy birthday to the man himself, Kurt Cobain!)

Dont forget to share it around! Thanks for listening.

And a MASSIVE thanks to Ashby for filming
