The five people identified as problematic by TED work in different fields. Rupert Sheldrake is a biologist. Graham Hancock is a journalist who has written about archeological ruins. Larry Dossey is a doctor. Russell Targ is a physicist. Marylin Schlitz is a social anthropologist and consciousness researcher. The one subject they all have in common is a shared interest in the non-locality of consciousness, the possibility that consciousness extends beyond the brain. Each speaker has devoted many years to the rigorous study of consciousness through the lens of their respective disciplines, and they have come up with provocative results. Through its actions, TED appears to be drawing a line around this area of investigation and marking it as forbidden territory. Is this true?

TED has gone downhill, I'm unsubscribing after finding out how they dropped Rupert Sheldrake's talk. They post so many stupid hypothetical political pseudoscientific rants and raves now, where the speakers never reveal anything new, and then drop the first intriguing videos I've seen from them in forever. Game Over.

I was always a big fan of electric vehicles. That recent video about them was eye opening. Wih it could go further.

There is nothing like a TED talk to get you thinking that the world could be a better place

Love the ideas presented in all these talks, but when are going to see action? When will they implement these amazing ideas ?

TED's mission statement reads: "We believe passionately in the power of ideas to change attitudes, lives and ultimately, the world. So we're building here a clearinghouse that offers free knowledge and inspiration from the world's most inspired thinkers, and also a community of curious souls to engage with ideas and each other." The TED community seems to want to exist in a vacuum of isolated ideas. Eventually, such self-congratulatory scientism in this veritable echo-chamber of speeches will cause the community to stagnate. TED is the mainstream, and it behooves us to stop supporting and organizing for those who cannot go further than 'safe'.

Such a regret though that Nick Hanauer's video can't be found on your channel anymore . . . Hoping that the next videos will not be questionned as to their contreversial aspect. Contreversy is actually the essence of good knowledge from my pov: popular beliefs must be put back into question permanently.

jason.. why do you require playlists anyway? is it too hard to read each title? Just a guess but i think it would be hard to categorize these videos is any meaningful way other than what they have done.

I love TEDTalks, but for the life of me, I can't figure out the individual's mindset who came up the idea of completely vague and obscure categories to view various topics on this channel. Was this actually decided in a board room meeting while playing with nerf balls? Now, mind you, I'm not looking for a response from TEDTalks fanatics who only supports someone else's ideas, but would like a reasonable answer as to why support vague and obscure categories as opposed to conventional categories that would allow the average person to explore intellectual perspectives without having to be drunk or become a psychologist to analyze the given categories. You know, not everyone getting on Youtube is an expert in English or English phrases. Bottom line, guys and gals, make an approachable channel for all, not just yourselves. Put the liquor back in the cabinets, that's right, office foam toys as well and present this channel as thorough as you would expect speakers on TEDTalks to perform.
