Tyler Neal 4 days agoHey Dan, I came across your video about finding the hand grenade, and that thing you said was a vice or something, well I think I know what it might be. I may be wrong as I don't metal detect, and I'm by no means an expert in anything, BUT, it looks like it might be the trigger on a mine. You found a grenade there, so it's entirely possible, anyway, your video is very interesting.

Jan Rodel 1 week agoHi Dan. Saw your video about your WW2 gun find. I can tell that it is definitely not a russian PPSH because those have a wooden fore grip. It must be a late WW2 german Sturmgewehr 44. An assault rifle as we know it today, introduced to the Wehrmacht by the end of the war. It did not recieve a lot of credit, mostly because it didn't get to prove itself in a large scale conflict. As one may notice, it has a similarity with a modern AK-47, yet historians argue wether AK-founder Michail Kalashnikow based his invention on the Sturmgewehr. I'm very fond of your hobby or your your line of work, and i might get into it if the situation presents itself. Good luck with your findings. Jan

anzac2404 1 week agoG-day Dan, just watched your video where you found the pistol wrapped in bubble wrap, good find considering the age but I'd say that it was from a crime but something that somebody has taken along with other stuff, didn't want it at home, so buried it (maybe to collect it later?) so did you take it + wrapping to the police?! Reminds me of the Tranter revolver's in shape but so many makers back in 19th century, don't blame you for being a bit freaked out but if were me, I'd take it to the police, the owner's should be able to be traced, & its still in good nic, that's why I say someone probably wanted to come back & get it; if they wanted to just get rid of it for good, they would have thrown it in a river (for example). Great find though, if you have handed it in I hope all went well, reward??? Cheers.

Are you subscribed to my channel? If you're not, then I might not be able to see anything you post. And you might be right about the badge. It's either what you say or what David says. It has something to do with athletics at the beginning of the 20th century. Still looking for the exact badge, though. Thanks for the tip!! I'll look for a shooting badge now. :) Cheers Martin

MayhemicMAD 2 weeks agoSuch a nice weather yesterday and no new video ? :( Well, I found my first bullets yesterday in the Forest, after you made me buy an ACE 250 with all your wonderful videos :) Greetings from Schweinfurt, just 150km to the east. Btw, the Friedensbrücke (rebuild Wilhelms Bridge) near your new home in Frankfurt has been the place where the Americans entered Frankfurt in 1945. Germans held the northern side and the Americans had to fight their way across. Might be a good place to find more war relics. Cheers !

Hanz Mosel 2 weeks ago@Anthony Anderson, The tank which we all viewed in the video is to my knowledge located in Berlin, where Dan formally lived. He has since moved to Frankfurt, which you would have learned in his recent video updates. Also if I may add, one does not simply "dig up" a tank. Hypothetically lets say there are no laws saying he can't, he still has to dig up a tank which weighs multiple tons using his shovel/spade. Not a job easily accomplished. @ThePokemonSoldier, Dan is detecting in Germany. The items in question were found in and around Berlin. @Jordan Nida, The tank is unfortunately not a Panzer, or a Tiger. (In my opinion, not even German.) My best guess as others have said, is that's its Russian.

SkyHawk024 2 weeks agoin episode 75 when you think you have found a tank the best way i can think of telling is to shine a light down the presumably muzzle of the "Barrel" if you see grooves going clockwise or counter clockwise in it, well then id say congrats you either found a artillery piece or a tank either good luck!

eroentje94 3 weeks agoi think the tank you found is Russian. For as far as i know the germans didnt use that kind of muzzle brake for the barrels on their tanks. it might even be a 40 to 60 tons IS (Josef Stalin) tank, or a tank destroyer. could you maybe measure the barrel's calibre?
