Jennifer: Sports Authority Palm Valley this is Jennifer how can I help you?
You: Hello Jennifer my name is Randy Peacekeeper and Im calling to follow up with an application I submitted the other day.
Jennifer: Ok, would you mind if I placed you on hold while I get my supervisor?
You: Sure no problem Ill hold.
Supervisor: This is Bob Beansworth how can I help you?
You: Hello Mr. Beansworth my name is Randal Peacekeeper and Im calling to follow up with the application I submitted the other day for the sales associate position. I was wondering if you have a few minutes to answer a couple of questions I have about the position?
Supervisor: Sure. What would you like to know?
You: Has the position been filled yet?
Supervisor: No it has not, we are still going through applications.
You: Great, would it be possible to schedule an interview with you now?
Supervisor: No, we will call you once we have reviewed your application if we think you will be a good fit for the job.
You: I understand, when do you think I can expect a response to my application?
Supervisor: At the latest by Friday of next week, if you dont hear from us by then you can call back and check in but it most likely means that we have filled the position.
You: Of course. Would you mind telling me what you are personally looking for as far as experience attitude and special skills when it comes to the individual youre looking to hire?
Supervisor: Well, personally Im looking for someone who has a great attitude about sales, is eager to learn, is comfortable talking with people and that has some experience in suggestive sales. At this point in time we are actually under staffed so having an open availability and being willing to be flexible are also important to me as well.
You: I see, well Im really glad I applied it sounds like this would be a perfect fit for me. I really enjoy helping people, Im a great team player, extremely coach-able, Ive been playing sports for most of my life and my availability is wide open.
Supervisor: What did you say your name was?
You: Randal Peacekeeper, but you can call me Randy.
Supervisor: Ill make sure we give you a call Randy, I appreciate you following up with us.
You: My pleasure Mr. Beansworth, thank you for your time and Im looking forward to learning more about this opportunity. Have a great day.
