All of my shopping is finally finished and now it's time to start wrapping gifts (my favorite part)! To make wrapping easier, I created a holiday gift wrap station in my house kind of like what the stores have in the mall.
In my holiday gift wrap station, I corralled all of holiday wrapping supplies such as wrapping paper, gift bags, tissue paper, cello bags, ribbon, bows, bells, etc into one area to avoid running all over the house to find supplies when needed. Total time it took to setup was 20-30 minutes! Happy holidays! -

We just bought a deep chest freezer from Costco (Haier 7.1 Cu Ft) for the garage and I couldn't wait to organize it (never organized a deep freezer before so my head was spinning with ideas!). One of the tricks to organizing a deep space is using stackable bins with handles so you can easily get to the bottom contents. Everything is super accessible now!

I always have soooo many projects going on in my business. While not all of them are implemented at once (thank goodness!), I write all of them down (both ideas and projects that are currently being implemented) so I know what's going on at any given time.
In this video, I show you my rainbow sticky note white board in my office that I use to track and manage all of the projects for Alejandra.tv. We call it our "Tetris Board" because, well, it kind of looks like a Tetris board if you stand back and look at it. I absolutely love this board because it's visual (I can SEE what's going on) and it's color-coded (I love things that are color-coded if you didn't know ;).

One thing that's super annoying about organizing underneath the bathroom sink is the annoying J-pipe in the middle of the cabinet! This totally limits what you can and cannot do when it comes to organizing the space.

I don't know about you but I really dislike the sound of loud banging pots and pans! Silence is truly golden for me and that includes when I take out a pot or pan from the kitchen cabinet. If you're a mom with young kids, you're probably bombarded with the plethora of artwork your kids are bringing home from school! In this video I share a few ways to creatively store, use, and/or share your child's artwork without having to "throw it away" (and then feel guilty!). Let's be honest though, you can't keep everyyyyy single piece of artwork your kids create in their lifetime. The key is keeping a hand full of favorites and gently letting go of the others (in this case, reusing the artwork for other purposes or giving it to others who aren't bombarded with artwork!). -

I used to loooooove back to school shopping when I was in school! There was nothing more refreshing than a brand new start to the school year with fresh new supplies.
In this video I take you back to 1998-2002 when I was in high school and tell you everything I used and tried (at least the stuff I remember!) to stay organized (which led me to get better grades). All of the reminiscing of my binder, school supplies, dividers, and locker make me sort of miss those days. One thing I will say is that I still remember my locker combination (5-15-36)- how crazy is that?! I guess some things you never forget!
If you're heading back to school this week or next week, good luck this year! Although it seems like you'll be in high school forever and you can't wait to graduate and move on, enjoy it while it lasts because once its over, its gone for good. And before you know it, your 10-year high school reunion will be around the corner (mines in November).

I recently discovered a brand new product for organizing your cooking utensils and gadgets. When I saw it, I thought it was the coolest thing ever, did my research, and had to try it to see if it worked (plus, it was very different from other drawer organizers so I was naturally curious!!).
In this video, I show you my newly organized kitchen drawer that allows me to SEE everything I have in one glance (cooking utensils, gadgets, etc). Nothing is stacked, stuffed, or smushed. Everything is super easy to access, functional, and not to mention the drawer itself is beautiful (kind of like eye candy in a way)! -

Tomorrow we're leaving for our family vacation in the Outer Banks. I'm sooo excited- it's basically our first "real" vacation of the summer so I'm totally looking forward to it.
Anyway, in this video I show you how I packed my two suitcases for our vacation. Since we're driving down to North Carolina, no need to worry about checking luggage or bringing a carry-on (all of our bags will be with us in the car).
The first suitcase contains my clothes, shoes, undergarments, and jewelry. The second suitcase (my ZUCA bag) contains my bath care, hair care, make-up, hair accessories, and cosmetics. -

Here's a video tour of my craft closet in my new home! I loooove how this space came out. It took awhile to setup (mainly because I was trying to come up with new ideas), but I'm happy with the end result. My favorite part of the closet is the tension rod (which, by the way, was $2.97 at Walmart!) that holds and contains the ribbon. The ribbon is now super easy to pull and cut! -

Here's a quick video on how to fold t-shirts to make them "look/appear" as if they are folded perfectly while making it easy to see what you have and maximizing space inside the drawer. I've mentioned before in previous videos that I realllllly don't like to fold. However, folding isn't as bad when you use a magic tool to help you get the fold right! In fact, it can actually be fun and the end result is a beautiful drawer of perfectly folded t-shirts. -

I posted a picture on my Facebook page recently on how I organize my post-it notes in my home office. I am C.R.A.Z.Y. over the drawer! Every time I grab a post-it note I smile at the colors.
Since a few people asked for a video, I thought I'd quickly film a video and show you the full drawer.
Yes, I know, I have a LOT of post-it notes. I pretty much have every size and every color made. However, I will tell you that I actually USE them. If you saw my office today, it would look like a rainbow of post-it notes exploded! I use post-its for temporary labeling, permanent labeling, sorting, reminders, tasks, etc. I use different sizes for different labeling and different colors for different categories.
In the video you'll also see how I added a pop of color to the front of my elfa drawers with adhesive shelf liner purchased from Home Depot and TJMaxx. -

I've always wanted to setup a system in my home for all of the "stuff" that doesn't permanently belong in my home. This includes stuff I donate (clothes I don't wear, stuff I don't use), stuff I'm selling on Craigslist or eBay, things I borrowed from family or friends, and then of course ALL of my returns/exchanges.
I capitalized the "all" because I feel like I'm always buying and returning! However, I'm not a big shopper. The one thing that I do buy are organizing products (of course). I LOVE trying out new organizing products to see if they work, see if they solve a problem, or simple stuff that makes life 10x easier. Unfortunately, a lot of organizing products don't deliver on their promise and thus end up in my return pile.
Getting to the point of the video- I setup a system for all of the stuff that leaves my home. I now feel more "organized" getting into my car before leaving the house. -

Here's how I organize all of my warranties, manuals, and big-ticket (aka expensive purchases!) receipts. I don't keep ALL of my receipts in here, only expensive items that I might return, need to show proof, might break, or sell one day. Small purchase receipts are kept somewhere else. A lot of warranties and manuals can be downloaded online (and thus the physical manual can probably be chucked or recycled), however, I'm still stuck in the stone age and prefer "physical" paper I can see, touch, and hold :)

Here's how I save time in the kitchen each week when cooking and preparing: When I get home from the grocery store, I wash and chop *most* of my fruits and veggies. Of course you can't do this with *all* of your produce, but do it with the ones you can. I do it with my celery, carrots, tomatoes (wash not chop), apples (wash not chop), pears (wash not chop), plums (wash not chop), and peaches (wash not chop). I also wash the strawberries immediately. If you wash your strawberries immediately, make sure you thoroughly dry them before storing. If you want your berries to last longer (over 1 week), don't wash them until you are ready to eat them. We usually eat our berries within two days of purchase so usually there isn't enough time to go bad. You'll save time each week in the kitchen with a little up front preparation. Do you do this? Our circuit breaker was confusing me like crazy! It wasn't very intuitive and clear which flip to switch when an appliance went out. To solve this problem, I spent 30 minutes making this space "user-friendly" by color-coding the circuit breaker. Now, I just match the color sticker from the door to the switch every time I need to reset an appliance. This same organizing tip and trick works well for teaching children where things belong for their toys, clothes, books, etc. -

I've tried a LOT of filing systems to contain my papers and documents and this system is the BEST. I've been using it for over three years and never plan to change it. The maintenance is super easy, the setup is simple and the colors make it extremely fast to find the document you are looking for.
