Fans in Germany react after Bayern Munich beat Borussia Dortmund 2-1 in Champions League Final

"It is very disappointing indeed, but Bayern deserved to win. Towards the end of the game, they were the better team, and you have to give them credit for that. Dortmund started the game well, but didn't score on their chances. All in all, a deserved win for Bayern, but it is sad, as our guys fought so hard and never gave up. In the end however, we played an outstanding Champions League season."

"What an incredible feeling. This was our third final appearance in four years and finally, the Cup is here, at home, where it belongs."

"I cannot find the right words. Today is my birthday and my dream, my dream was fulfilled. We are Champions League Winners, we did it!"

Arjen Robben and Jurgen Klopp on Champions League Final - Bayern Munich 2-1 Borussia Dortmund

Bayern Munich were crowned champions of Europe for the fifth time on Saturday night after beating Borussia Dortmund 2-1 in the first all-German Champions League final.

Jurgen Klopp - Borussia Dortmund manager:
"The only thing I can say, it was great. We really deserved to be in the final and we showed this tonight. It's important for us. Our fans, what they did, the whole atmosphere in the stadium was brilliant. London's the town of Olympic Games, it's a sports town. We enjoyed all the Olympic Games, now this big event. It was great, the weather was good, everything is okay, only the result is so shit that I cannot.... All the other things were great."

Arjen Robben - Scored winning goal vs Dortmund:
"It was a sense of finally, yes. And also now it is unbelievable. I cannot describe what is going through your mind, it is too difficult, but so many emotions. Well, when I got the ball (for Bayern's second goal) I was free. I anticipated on Franck's (Ribery) move and the only thought was 'I hope he lets the ball there in the space or a little bit back, but leave the ball there', because I saw the space and yes, the ball was exactly in my path and I took it well the first touch and that's why I could get away from the defenders and my first choice was actually to go past him (Dortmund goalkeeper Roman Weidenfeller) on the left side, but then he made a move and then I could put it on the other side and he was on the, how do you say it, on the wrong leg."

Prince William predicted a 2-0 win for Bayern Munich in the Champions League Final against Borussia Dortmund.

Duke of Cambridge, President of the Football Association:
"Monsieur President. Distinguished guests. Ladies and gentlemen. It is my great pleasure, as President of the English Football Association, to welcome you formally to London for this the 37th Ordinary UEFA Congress. It is a great honour for us, the English FA, to host this prestigious congress. But, of course, the real excitement is tomorrow's Champions League final. My money is on Bayern Munich 2-0."

Duke of Cambridge, President of the Football Association:
"The rules of Association Football were drafted 150 years ago in a London pub - very close to where we are today. As you know, us English have a love affair with both football and our pubs, so it is no surprise that one helped create the other."

Michael Schumacher talks F1 and Champions League Final

Michael Schumacher and Nico Rosberg took part in a Mercedes event at the Nuerburgring in Germany on Sunday (May 19th).

Michael Schumacher, Seven-time former F1 world champion (on driving at the Nordschleife Nuerburgring):
"The fascination of Nordschleife is obviously.... back to old historic happenings. I don't know how many years we are already here, but it's certainly more than 50 years to my point of view and the layout, the history, the happenings, the place we are - in terms of up-and-down like a roller-coaster - that's what makes Nordschleife so special."

Michael Schumacher, Seven-time former F1 world champion (on the 2013 Formula One season):
"The actual Formula One.... it's interesting. I mean, lots of happening, lots of changes. It's certainly - yes, kind of what I said two years ago in Bahrain - that those tyres probably should suit the majority of (the) field rather than minority. That's what happens now and (it) looks like they're reacting now."

Michael Schumacher, Seven-time former F1 world champion (on the Champions League final between Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund):
"Dortmund, Bayern.... yes. Well, for us German(s), actually, if you - and I'm not a Dortmund or Bayern fan, I'm a Cologne fan - it doesn't really matter. We're all proud of those two teams to have made it and let's cross fingers for both of them."

Nico Rosberg, Mercedes F1 driver (on the Champions League final between Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund):
"I'm a big Bayern Munich fan, so I'm really looking forward to the Champions League final and they are in incredible shape at the moment. They are playing so well, so I'm sure they can win."

Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho hints at a return to England after his team were knocked out of the UEFA Champions League at the semi-final stage by Borussia Dortmund in Madrid after losing.

    Jose Mourinho, Real Madrid coach:
"I know in England I am loved. I know. I know I am loved by the fans, I am loved by the media, that treats me in a fair way - criticising me when they have to but giving me credit when I deserve it -I know I am loved by some clubs, especially one, and in Spain the situation is a little bit different because some people hate me and many of them are in this room. And it is difficult to make a decision because I like the club"

    Jurgen Klopp, Borussia Dortmund coach:
"I thought if we stay cool and we try only to play football, not our best football maybe but the football that is possible for us tonight, then we go to the final. So because of many many things that happened in this game and last games we absolutely deserve to go to Wembley. I never thought that this could happen but now it is like it is. It is unbelievable".

Barcelona vs Bayern Munich - Champions League Semi Final - Munich prepare to defend 4-0 lead

Subscribe for the latest news from sntv: http://bit.ly/X6816L Bayern Munich arrived in Barcelona, Spain, on Tuesday ahead of their UEFA Champions League semi-final second leg fixture against Barcelona, where they lead 4-0.

Thomas Mulller, Bayern Munich forward (about Barcelona and Real Madrid losing in Germany):
"Those games were played in Germany. And I think that the Spanish teams were strong especially when playing at home. They were two particular games that aren't part of the everyday football life of both teams. But it is a sign. When Bayern (Munich) and (Borussia) Dortmund win their semi-final games playing so well this confirms what is being said in past years. That here is an evolution in German football. That is growing more and more. And that is very good news for German football."

    Jupp Heynckes, Bayern Munich coach:
"I think Barcelona are the best team in the world. And from that point of view we need to adapt to that team tomorrow evening. It is a team that can do incredible things at Camp Nou. They've always done that. And obviously tomorrow we want to avoid that. My team tomorrow will try to play tomorrow the way we played in Munich. We will play our style. Bravely and going forward trying to score goals. Whether we will achieve that or not we will see. But one thing is clear for me. We are not a team that only plays defensively-. We have a good defence and that we can see in the Bundesliga and European competitions."

Barcelona vs Bayern Munich - Champions League - Vilanova: 'If there is a team capable, it is Barca'

Barcelona trained at the Nou Camp, Spain, on Tuesday after coach Tito Vilanova and defender Gerard Pique held a news conference.

    Gerard Pique, Barcelona:
"Of course having Messi is a big push for us. This isn't the first time. We know who Messi is and we know that having him in the team makes us better. He is the best player in the world and whether you want it or not having him in the team is a good thing when you think about tomorrow's game. We need all of them but clearly we need Messi the most."

    Tito Vilanova, Barcelona Coach:
"Regardless of the result we have to play ninety minutes as a sign of respect to our fans. And also for what this team has done and achieved all these years. In this respect, we have won when rivals that have won 4-0 the first leg come here and say that they still have to struggle to win the knock out round because if there is a team capable of reversing such result it is Barca."

    Tito Vilanova, Barcelona Coach:
"We have good defenders and midfielders. But we also know that the further we get inside the other area we have (Lionel) Messi. And that gives us more chances. But we mustn't put all that pressure on him. As I said before we have to help Leo. He makes us all better players but we have also to help him back. But it is clear that a player of his level has things to say on the pitch when you talk about a game as important as tomorrow's."

Bayern Munich arrived in Barcelona, Spain, on Tuesday ahead of their UEFA Champions League semi-final second leg fixture against Barcelona, where they lead 4-0.

    Bastian Schweinsteiger, Bayern Munich midfielder:
"It is clear that by our first leg result we have opened the door. But we haven't crossed it. Not even a step. We have to play a difficult game tomorrow. It will be a difficult game. Only few teams have been able to resist a Barcelona team playing at home."

Thomas Mulller, Bayern Munich forward (about Barcelona and Real Madrid losing in Germany):

Real Madrid vs Borussia Dortmund - Champions League Semi Final - Mourinho calm ahead of 2nd leg

Faced with the very real prospect of a UEFA Champions League semi-final exit at the hands of Borussia Dortmund, Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho claimed he is "perfectly calm".

    Jose Mourinho, Real Madrid coach:
"No, my future does not depend on that (the match tomorrow), I have said that before. It is a pity that people read the newspaper, but after that they don't read when (Borussia Dortmund coach Juergen) Klopp says I never told him I was going to Chelsea."

    Jose Mourinho, Real Madrid coach:
"Success is everyone's success, and failure is the coach's failure. That's not something that happens only at Real Madrid but in the whole world, maybe with the exception of some different cultures. But even in different cultures special clubs always give the coach credit for the good and the bad. But I know this is the way things work, so I am perfectly calm."

    Sergio Ramos, Real Madrid:
"We lost the way we lost in Dortmund and there is nothing left to explain or say about that. We are hurting inside, that's why we have to take the best version of ourselves tomorrow, because this is our limit and we might let go a Champions League final. We are conscious what getting back in (to the final) would mean though, the effort for this badge on our chests. We have made it many times in our history but we do not live in the past. We have to get out there tomorrow, prove who we are and believe it is possible."

Holding a healthy 4-1 lead from the first leg in their UEFA Champions League semi-final, Borussia Dortmund trained at Real Madrid's Bernabeu Stadium on Monday (28th April).

    Juergen Klopp, Borussia Dortmund coach:
"For us it is the same situation as last year in the final of the DVB Pokal (German Cup). We were German champions in this moment, we were the big opponent of Bayern Munich, they wanted to beat us in this game, they wanted to change the whole season, they wanted to win two titles in this moment. They gave (their) all and my team was pretty cool in this moment. Because the only way to reach your dream is to do it bravely, and so that's what we try to do."

    Juergen Klopp, Borussia Dortmund coach:
"We are ready for Real Madrid to try everything they can, and our feeling is not that we are already in the final. We feel that the first leg result was much better than expected, and we know we will have to fight tomorrow with our best strengths. We know we are not a normal semi-finalist and we will behave accordingly. It is great progress to reach the semi-final already, and we will act with the consequent humility."

Bayern Munich coach Jupp Heynckes reflected on a remarkable week for the new German champions on Friday, as he prepares his side for Saturday's visit of Freiburg to the Allianz Arena in the Bundesliga.

Jupp Heynckes, FC Bayern Munich coach:
"I think that both teams (Bayern Munich and Barcelona) have almost an identical starting position now - probably ours is a little bit better. But Barcelona was of course the world-class team number one in the last year and I repeat myself by saying, that I don't like it to express the chances in percent or to say that it is a high likeliness (for us to reach the final). I don't like this. I am more of the opinion, that we must play in a similar way in Barcelona as we did here at home, means with the same attitude, with the same strong running, with the same football skills, tactical skills and strength that we have shown. Then I can imagine that it will be a good outcome for us in the end."

Jupp Heynckes, FC Bayern Munich coach:
Reporter: "Would a Champions League final defeat against Borussia Dortmund be the worst case scenario for you?"
"Oh come on. At first we must get into the final, boy. And then we can talk about this. Mia san mia (Bavarian for: 'we are what we are')."

Iniesta: 'La Liga is not inferior to Bundesliga'

Barcelona midfielder Andres Iniesta has defended the Spanish Primera Liga after both Barca and Real Madrid suffered heavy defeats to German sides Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich.

    Andres Iniesta, Barcelona midfielder:
"After the Champions League game, we need to change our mind frame and go to Bilbao to win the game and move one step closer to winning the league. It is clear that Bilbao (Athletic) have a lot at stake and it will be a difficult game, a tough game like games against them usually are."

    Andres Iniesta, Barcelona midfielder:
"The Spanish league is not inferior to the Bundesliga. Neither Barca and Real Madrid are inferior to them (Bayern Munich and Borussia), but rather at this specific moment they won against us and that's it. We have a second leg and like we said before, we will try to overcome the result. We have to believe we can."

    Andres Iniesta, Barcelona midfielder:
"We have had many years of winning and fighting for everything. It makes no sense to analyse five years of histor by only looking at the game against Bayern Munich. I think you can talk about the end of an era when years go by and you don't win anything."

Real Madrid goalkeeper and club captain Iker Casillas talks about the heavy Borussia Dortmund defeat in the UEFA Champions League semi-final, and his 'professional' relationship with Jose Mourinho, as he speaks in Madrid.

    Iker Casillas, Real Madrid goalkeeper:
"We arrived there in good shape but the truth is, like one of my colleagues said - I don´t remember if it was Ramos or Pepe - Borussia played a very good match, they played really well and I have to admit they were fair winners of the first leg. The result was was not good but there is still one match left with 90 minutes to play where we have to recover what we lost."

    Iker Casillas, Real Madrid goalkeeper:
"Mourinho is not cold, he is honest, he told the truth. Professionally we treat each other with a lot of respect and we speak only about football. Personally, we have a different relationship. Xabi Alonso has already explained this before so there´s not much more to speak about. We have one situation professionally - and a different one personally. But above the coach and above myself is the club."

Borussia Dortmund 4-1 Real Madrid - Champions League Semi Final - Mourinho: 'Everything is possible'

Real Madrid head coach Jose Mourinho believes Real Madrid have the ability to comeback from their 4-1 Champions League semi-final first leg defeat to Borussia Dortmund when the German side visit the Bernabeu next week.

Jose Mourinho, Real Madrid head coach:
"During the three years since I have been at Real Madrid, I have met a lot of important people who can say much more about what Real Madrid means as a team than President Valdano. There is always a kind of myth that Real can't lose at the Bernabeu. I have learnt this from a lot of people. But it really is the case. I have learnt that everything is possible in football. It's not over yet. Anything can happen next week. And of course, when you ask my players now, if they believe that they will be able to turn this match next week, some players will say no. But in one hour, some players will say yes, it will probably be possible. And when you ask them tomorrow, everybody will say yes, we will turn this match around. Because they will get a clear message from me. I'll tell them that everything is possible in football. And we must fight and everyone of us must be ready next Tuesday. So that we will probably make the impossible happen at Santiago Bernabeu."

Borussia Dortmund 4-1 Real Madrid - Champions League Semi Final - Jurgen Klopp hails historic win

Borussia Dortmund head coach Jurgen Klopp insists that the Champions League semi-final tie against Real Madrid isn't over yet despite the German side thrashing the Spaniards 4-1 in the first leg on Tuesday.

Jurgen Klopp, Borussia Dortmund head coach:
"Thankyou (for the congratulations). The only problem is that we have only played half of this match so far. So I am not willing to talk about tactical details here. Not with regard to our opponent. And also not with regard to - in particular - what we did well. We have scored great goals, played a great match. Everyone has seen this. But again, I don't want to talk about details, because there are only six days left until the second leg match. Before then we will be interrupted by the match against Duesseldorf and then we have to play the second leg (in Madrid). If there were good tactics on our side, I would like to keep it secret (and not announce it here) with regard to the second leg."

Jurgen Klopp, Borussia Dortmund head coach:
"This will definitely make it into our history books. When you enter this press conference room here, you have to walk through the (Borussia) museum. They are always showing the same movies. I always have the feeling, when I walk past, I always see myself on the screen. And one time, there will probably also be a movie on display which shows Lewandowski's four goals. But only if we will also have a good performance in Madrid. However, this was an extraordinary performance by my team."

Ronaldo: 'Messi is better than Ronaldo'

Two-time World Cup winner Ronaldo visits Madrid, Spain, on Monday (April 23rd) to talk about Brazil hosting the 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup.

Ronaldo, FIFA World Cup Brazil 2014 ambassador:
"I think there is going to be a Spanish final in the Champions League, and I think Barca will have a worse time than Real Madrid. Barcelona (are) playing against Bayern Munich tonight, a team that has dominated everything they have played this year, and in my opinion it will be a very tough game for Barcelona. They have the advantage of playing the second match at home, though, so I think both Madrid and Barca will get through, and I'll be in London watching the final.

Ronaldo, FIFA World Cup Brazil 2014 ambassador:
"I also think both of them are fantastic, but in my opinion (Lionel) Messi is still a bit better than Cristiano Ronaldo. They are two players that I love watching when they play, they do amazing things, they are completely better than the average of the rest of the players in the world. No doubt they are both the best in the world. Despite that I still think Messi is even better than Cristiano Ronaldo".

Bayern Munich vs Barcelona - Champions League - Xavi previews Semi Final

Barcelona arrive and train in Munich ahead of Bayern game.

Barcelona midfielder Xavi knows the Catalans face the sternest test of their Champions League credentials at Bayern Munich on Tuesday.

The Spaniards, who have won the trophy twice in the past five years and are into their sixth straight semi-final, arrived in Munich needing only to glance at the Bundesliga table to realise what they are up against.

With 81 points, 20 more than their nearest rivals and fellow Champions League semi-finalists Borussia Dortmund, just one defeat in 30 matches and 89 goals scored compared to just 14 conceded, Bayern's domestic record is frightening.

Despite all that Xavi says Barcelona have great anticipation for the match ahead.

    Xavi, Barcelona midfielder:
"We have reached the semi-finals six times in a row now, which speaks for us. We are still having all aims ahead of us. We can still achieve something in the Champions League and we have a great anticipation for this game on this pitch here in this nice stadium and we are very much looking forward to this semi-final. We are aware that Bayern is currently a very strong team - in strong shape - and that they are having a very complete team with strong individual players who can make the difference anytime. But, we know what is at stake and so we will try to impose our system and our game philosophy. And then we'll see. At first, there is great anticipation, great appetite to play this match."

The Allianz Arena will be packed with 65,000 fans also looking forward to the game.

Bayern Munich vs Barcelona - Champions League - Bayern prepare for Semi Final

Bayern Munich get ready to face Barcelona in last four of Champions League.

New German champions Bayern Munich trained on Monday ahead of hosting Barcelona on Tuesday in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final.

The Bavarian club are on the brink of making it to their third final in four years in arguably one of the greatest periods in the club's history.

Having sealed the Bundesliga title sooner than any other club they have skittled numerous domestic records, while the manner of their 6-1 victory at Hannover last Saturday shows they are not done yet.

Furthermore, they have reached the final of the DFB-Pokal and are therefore on course for a historic treble.

However, causing manager Jupp Heynckes a headache is his team selection with two big doubts, one at the back and one in attack.

Daniel van Buyten and Jerome Boateng are vying for one berth alongside Dante, with the former likely to be preferred given his experience.

Up front, with top-scorer Mario Mandzukic suspended, Mario Gomez or Claudio Pizarro will lead the line.

World number five Rafa Nadal spoke to the media on Monday (April 22) after his 6-2, 7-6 defeat to Novak Djokovic the final of the Monte Carlo Masters.

    Rafa Nadal, tennis player:
"I think that the final in Monte Carlo doesn't change a thing at the time of facing the tournament here in Barcelona. You prefer to win because it brings you a bit of self-trust and calmness but that's it. Sincerely after all that happened last year I take it as positive everything happening to me right now. The simple fact that I can compete and be back in the circuit is already great news for me. And from here on the results I have achieved lately are much better than we expected. All in my team knew how things were a few months ago."

    Rafa Nadal:
"I wish! For Spanish football it would be great that both Real Madrid and Barça could reach the (Champions League) final. For what that represents to our country. I whish both teams can reach the final and we can see them in Wembley."

Borussia Dortmund 3-2 Malaga - Pellegrini furious with officials after Champions League exit

    Manuel Pellegrini, Malaga manager:
"At 2-1 there was no more referee. We were pushed into defence by long balls, but also by fouls and elbow checks. Fouls were not punished, two red cards should have been given. (Lars) Bender was already booked and then handballed, (Marcel) Schmelzer did an elbow-check in front of the linesman, he didn't book him, but (Jesus) Gamez. Under these circumstances it is difficult to resist pressure, even though we intended to play forward. We are already punished by not being able to play internationally in the next few years, so it is especially bitter to go out like that."

    Manuel Pellegrini, Malaga manager:
"Based on today's game UEFA should start with goal line technology to avoid wrong decisions. There wasn't just one wrong decision, the last seven or eight minutes of the game were chaotic. There was not one red card given and five or six situations around the penalty area were wrong."

    Juergen Klopp, Borussia Dortmund manager:
"I was told, I haven't seen it yet, that the first goal we got was offside and the second was also offside, so we are still two ahead if I calculated that right. I fully understand (the opponent) because we also have lost some big matches and after that you feel treated unfairly, but after the two games we deserved to get into the next round."

    Arjen Robben, Bayern Munich:
"I think in general, not only in the away games, until now I think we are playing a terrific season. Of course, the pressure is off in the league because we won the title, and now we can completely focus on our games in the Champions League - and also in the German Cup, we are in the semi-finals. So there's still a lot possible, but it's also going to be a very difficult one. I think we just live day by day, and tomorrow is the next game, we try to reach the semi-finals, and that's the only thing that counts at the moment."

    Jupp Heynckes, Bayern Munich coach:
"Even though we start with the two goals from last Tuesday, for us nothing has changed. We want to score and we want to win."

    Jupp Heynckes, Bayern Munich coach:
"To be honest I consider Buffon one of the best goalkeepers in the history of football. I was really impressed when Juventus went into Serie B but he remained with the club, loving his jersey. For me he is a legend in football and a great man."

But we know very well that the Champions League for us is a dream, and we want to live with serenity. At the moment, we are not in the number of favourites. Anyway, there will be an opponent, a pitch to play on, and we will have to compete and see what will happen. "It is not an easy draw, certainly the most complicated one, but that will be an exceptional match. We could rub alongside what is the best made side in Europe. One is saying that they are Barcelona FC in a decline, but they responded incredibly well in their last match against AC Milan on Wednesday, so for me that is the best team in Europe."

""It is sure that we will need all our forces for those matches in the match against Barcelona Zlatan Ibrahimovic will be missing to us (suspended for the first match against Barcelona), but we have other available players, and I think we need someone like Zlatan Ibrahimovic or Kevin Gameiro and be 200% alert if we want to achieve something . From the moment when we have a good spirit and a will, we can as we say, move mountains."

"When you are a big champion it is always unpleasant to be provoked or, in his case, whistled, but he responded in the most beautiful manner by making two goals against Nancy and by eliminating our problems, so that was an immediate reaction. Jupp Heynckes, FC Bayern Munich coach:
"This is a well-balanced fixture. And I'll repeat it once more: this is a team that is very composed, very competitive and above all very fit and strong and aggressive in defense. So, it is a very difficult opponent."

Manuel Neuer, FC Bayern Munich goalkeeper:
"Juventus is a very big team. A very big name. And they've reached the Champions League quarter finals without a problem in the group stage, I guess. And now they have played against Celtic and they have won 0:3 away and 2:0 at home. With regard to Italian teams, one knows that they are always very well organised. And when you take a look at the results, you see that they've played nil (without conceding a goal) twice. But anyway, I think we do definitely have the chance to get into the next round."

Toni Kroos, FC Bayern Munich midfielder:
"So, when you take a look at the teams they have eliminated from the competition so far, among them I guess the Champions League winner from last year, you can see how good they are. For me - speaking honestly - it is the most uncomfortable draw possible to get after FC Barcelona. I think Italian teams are always very difficult to play. Nevertheless I think, if we will manage to reach our limit, a 100 percent of our performance, then we will reach the next round after this duel. But I think we will need two top performances to get into the next round."

Jordi Alba, FC Barcelona team defender:
"We didn't have any preferences regarding our rival, we are playing Paris St. Germain, which I think is a very complete team in every aspect. In the defence side it is a strong team and they have great players for the attack. This year the draw is like this way."

Jordi Alba, FC Barcelona team defender:
"It is important to keep our level, we lost three matches and there were doubts regarding Barcelona but we were calm and the other day the real Barcelona showed up again. I think we played a very good match and now we have to try to keep our level until the end of the season. We have to keep our agressive and intense level "

Jordi Alba, FC Barcelona team defender:
"(Being favourites) is always good but in the end there are other teams fighting for the title. Last year there were talks about a final between Barcelona and Real Madrid but in the end none of them reached the final. The Champions League is decided by small details and in the end the less expected team can end up winning the tournament."

Arsene Wenger's side were out-gunned in the first leg of their round of 16 tie with German giants Bayern Munich, soundly beaten 3-1 at the Emirates Stadium.

Now they face a Bayern side that have only lost only nine times in 82 Champions League matches at home.

But Arsene Wenger is insistent, that his side aren't out of it yet:
"It's not impossible. But the only way to make it possible is of course to, to play, have a real go and to play at our best tomorrow night, and that's what we will try, that's what we will do. I am confident that.... we will be completely focused and up for it and we will give our best shot, then football is football, you know. Everything is possible."

Lukas Podolski scored Arsenal's goal in the first leg, but the former Bayern striker will miss the second leg through injury.

Midfield dynamo Jack Wilshere is also out after failing to recover from an ankle knock picked up in the North London derby match against Tottenham Hotspur, a little over a week ago.

Defender Thomas Vermalen Vermaelen believes that Arsenal could overturn the deficit though, using last year's round of 16 tie with AC Milan as an example of the side's positive attitude:
"Yes, of course, we go into this game to.... to win and get through. We've seen it last, last year as well against Milan. We almost did what most people thought was impossible and we almost went through, so I think a lot of players know that and they, and they all believe that we can do it tomorrow."

If Arsenal are eliminated, England won't have a single representative in the last eight of the Champions League for the first time since the 1995-96 season.

Barcelona v AC Milan (agg. 0-2) - Champions League - Allegri wary of Barca threat

    by sntv 205 views

AC Milan head coach Massimiliano Allegri has warned his players not to be complacent ahead of their Champions League last 16 second leg against Barcelona on Wednesday. AC Milan lead 2-0 on aggregate.

    Massimiliano Allegri:
"We will play a very difficult game. We will play against a team that will try to overcome the 2-0 deficit from the first leg. The team will need to be very good. Even better than during the first leg."

    Massimiliano Allegri:
"We need to be calm. And when the referee blows the whistle we will start at 0-0. And if we are very good, if the players are very good, we will have a great night. If we get a bit of luck we will make it to the next stage. We can also think that we may play extra time. But one thing that we mustn't do is to think that we already have a 2-0 favourable first leg result. We must go on the pitch believing that we have two results out of three possible at our disposal, a victory or a draw."

Juventus beat Celtic 2-0 for a 5-0 aggregate victory on aggregate to earn a place in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

Juve coach Antonio Conte described the competition as "a dream that we cuddle".

    Antonio Conte, Juventus coach:
"For us, the Champions League is a dream that we cuddle, we take care of it, even more now that we are in the quarter-final. For sure it will ask for energies to spend - physically as well as mentally. It's a great, fantastic competition, and after many years being again in the best eight clubs in Europe, it makes me, the club and the players happy, proud and full of enthusiasm."

    Neil Lennon, Celtic manager:
"I don't see any reason why Juve can't win it (Champions League). They've got as good a chance as anyone. Over the last 18 months they've been fantastically consistent - certainly at home here in Turin. It's a fortress, but there are other fantastic teams still in the competition."

PSG 1-1 Valencia (agg 3-2) - Champions League - Carlo Ancelotti: We played with anxiety

Paris Saint-Germain scraped through to the quarter-finals of the Champions League on Wednesday after drawing 1-1 at home to Valencia to win the tie 3-2 on aggregate.

PSG coach Carlo Ancelotti said he opted to use Kevin Gameiro instead of David Beckham as he would "give to the team a little bit more of attacking energy."

    Carlo Ancelotti, PSG coach:
"Tonight's match was for sure more difficult than the first one. In the first half we played with a little bit of anxiety; we were not relaxed and paradoxically we started to play after Valencia's goal."

Carlo Ancelotti, PSG coach (explaining why Beckham didn't play):
"At the beginning (David) Beckham was warming up together with (Kevin) Gameiro in order to replace (Thiago) Motta... So Beckham or Gameiro. I preferred Gameiro, to give to the team a little bit more of attacking energy and I used (Clemant) Chantome as a defensive midfielder."

Carlo Ancelotti, PSG coach, (talking about PSG's chances of reaching the final):
"I don't know if we could go, but at the beginning of this competition, we always said that no one knows what we could do during championships. Until now, we did very well."

Borussia Dortmund 3-0 Shaktar Donetsk (agg 5-2) - Champions League

    by sntv 431 views

Borussia Dortmund reached the last eight of the Champions League for the first time in 15 years following a 5-2 aggregate win over Shakhtar Donetsk.

After the first leg in Ukraine was drawn 2-2, Dortmund won 3-0 on home soil with Felipe Santana, Mario Goetze and Jakub Blaszczykovski all on target.

    Juergen Klopp, Borussia Dortmund coach:
"True we were strong today. The team showed an incredible game right from the first second. We knew that the opponent would try to tackle aggressively and we prevented that by avoiding contact and playing the ball a lot. We always stayed focused and played an extremely good game except for the 10 minutes after half-time when we needed Roman (Weidenfeller - goalkeeper) twice. In those 10 minutes you did see how strong Shakhtar can be when you let them get into the game and when we stopped that the game was decided. Great effort by my team."

    Juergen Klopp, Borussia Dortmund coach:
"For us, it is an incredible achievement and a fantastic outcome and it would be somehow stupid to let speculation about the next opponent get in the way about feeling good about this. We are still in the tournament, it couldn't go better. Now we will see tomorrow and next week what will happen. We will probably understand that all teams that get in next round play good football, then there will be the draw. We will be in that draw and that is fantastic."

    Mircea Lucescu, Shakhtar Donetsk coach:
"I can only say that Borussia has deserved this victory. They are in the next round. It was a difficult game and a difficult opponent for us. We hoped until the 30th minute to turn the game around. We didn't manage that, didn't use our chances and after the first goal they controlled the game. It was difficult for us to get back in, so a well deserved victory."

AC Milan 2-0 Barcelona - Champions League - Xavi reflects on Milan defeat

    by sntv 562 views

Midfielder Xavi looked back on Barcelona's 2-0 defeat by Milan and ahead to games against Sevilla and Real Madrid on Thursday (21st February), as his club enter a crucial phase of the season.

    Xavi, Barcelona midfielder:
"Over the past four or five years we have been competing and winning lots of titles, lots of things, playing good football. We still lack any historic comebacks - so that's what we will try now. We know it will be difficult because a 2-0 defeat is one of the worst results to take back to the home leg. But we have to compete. There are ninety minutes left to play at home. The pitch will be in good condition, the fans will support us. We hope to be at a better level than yesterday. Clearly, yesterday we had a hard time trying to control the ball. And the pitch didn't help us either."

    Xavi, Barcelona midfielder:
(about the upcoming game against Real Madrid in the Copa del Rey):
"It is a Copa del Rey knockout match which could allow us to reach a final. And that is the motivation, regardless of yesterday's result. So we need to be well prepared. Firstly, we have a very important game against Seville in the league on Saturday. And then we will see what happens on Tuesday. We have a good result form the first leg. And we need to play another good game at home. It will be a competitive game. Real Madrid will make an effort for that game, obviously. And we would really like to reach that final."

    Fatih Terim, Galatasaray Coach:
"We scored 1-0 and Burak's goal was very good. Burak scored because of Selcuk's assist. After that we couldn't find the second goal very easily. However, we made a big mistake at the end of the first half."

    Fatih Terim, Galatasaray Coach:
"We will go to Schalke for the last 90 minutes. Honestly they have big advantage on us (Galatasaray) because they ended the game 1-1 in Istanbul. But we will try our luck until the last second."

Reaction from Barcelona and AC Milan after the Italian team beat Barca 2-0 in the Champions League knockout stage on Wednesday (February 20th) in Milan, Italy.

"Yes we haven't played our fluid game as usual and this due to the defensive attitude of (AC) Milan. We controlled the first half of the match even (though we had) not many chances to score as well as Milan. The first goal gave us problems, and complicated our game. The result is not good. 2-0 is not good, but I have the complete confidence that this squad has players able to win. And in our stadium with our supporters with our pitch."

Massimiliano Allegri, AC Milan Head Coach:

"We are ahead 1-0. Wining was our objective and if possible without conceding any goals, which is important. But after the game we've played I think we deserved at least one goal more"

    Vitor Pereira, Porto coach:
"We sincerely believe that we'll face difficulties in Malaga, there's no doubt about that, but we are also a team capable of scoring there, in Malaga, or in any stadium in the world"

    Manuel Pellegrini, Malaga coach:
"Well, we really cannot be happy because I don't think we played a good match, mainly offensively. It was very difficult for us to get to the opponent's net. But even if Porto dominated I can't remember of any important save by Willy Caballero (goalkeeper). The goal (Porto's) also seemed to me to be offside, although, I didn't see the replay on TV. Arsenal 1-3 Bayern Munich - UEFA Champions League - Gunners lack confidence, says Wenger

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger says his side did not play with freedom, unlike German side Bayern Munich who won 3-1 in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League round of 16 match at the Emirates Stadium, London, on Tuesday (February 20).

    Arsene Wenger, Arsenal Manager:
"I think we had a good response today and that the players gave absolutely everything. We played against a side who have no doubt at all you know. They have a history of the last six months where everything is positive and that... you could see that. Every players is confident to play with full power, full confidence. It is not completely our case at the moment. Things change sometimes quickly in three weeks so lets hope we manage to do it."

    Arsene Wenger:
"My anger yesterday was not based on opinions. It was based on information. For me you (the media) have two missions. One is to give your opinion and secondly to inform people. When you give wrong information without checking with us I am angry because I feel that is disrespectful. When you give your opinion I will always accept it. I work here (at Arsenal) for 16 years and I never, ever disputed any opinion of you. When you give wrong information from me you cheat the guy who buys the newspaper. That is why I was angry."

    Wenger:
"Look, we will have two battles. Maybe the easier battle will be to be back in the Champions League but we have to give absolutely everything to try to change things in the second leg."

We are aware of the difficulties we are going to face. But we are looking forward to playing this match, it's a great match to play in and we look forward to facing this strong opponent."

    Massimiliano Allegri, AC Milan manager:
"What makes me angry is the fact that for the last ten days everybody has been talking about Milan as the victim, of them losing the match. But the rules will not change, the match will start from nil-nil."

Porto vs Malaga - UEFA Champions League - Pellegrini insists Malaga will compete with Porto

Malaga head coach, Manuel Pelligrini, doesn't believe his side are underdogs for their Champions League last 16 first leg against FC Porto at Estadio do Dragao on Tuesday.

    Manuel Pellegrini, Malaga coach:
"When we started the group stage, I said that we were going to build a competitive team, although, many believed that we reached the Champions League by accident and would just be participating. I said from the beginning that this team would be competitive and that we would try to go through to the next round. We managed to do it in first place (in Group A) and we are at exactly the same level as Porto."

    Manuel Pellegrini, Malaga coach:
"We have never speculated on results in previous Champions League matches and we will not do it now. We are going to play the game on it's own. We have a match between two sides who play very offensive football and hopefully it will be a great spectacle, but we are not going to change our way of playing, we have never done it before and we are not going to do it now."

    Duda, Malaga midfielder:
"Last season was great for us, we showed a beautiful style of football that amazed everybody. It will be a difficult match for us, but I think we have a 50-per-cent chance, especially if we do things well, as we've been doing until now. We have the chance to show why we are here and we hope to follow the same track as we have in previous matches."

Arsenal vs Bayern Munich - UEFA Champions League - Bayern favourites for Gunners clash

Bayern Munich trained at the Emirates Stadium in London ahead of their UEFA Champions League last 16 first leg tie with Arsenal on Tuesday.

Time is running out for Jupp Heynckes to deliver European success for Bayern Munich.

The 67-year-old decided to step down as head coach at the end of the season, leading to Pep Guardiola to be announced as his successor.

But before the Catalan coach arrives in Bavaria, Heynckes has the opportunity to lead Bayern to a fifth European cup.

And after last year's final defeat in their home, Bayern are looking for redemption.

The German club take on Arsenal in the first leg of their Champions League last 16 tie in London on Tuesday.

    Momentum is on Bayern's side.

Heynckes' men have won all five of their matches in 2013 and are unbeaten in their last 18.

Bayern look set to claim a record 23rd Bundesliga title as they are 15 points clear of second placed Borussia Dortmund.

Arsenal were eliminated at the same stage of the Champions League by the Bavarian giants in 2005.

The odds remain in Bayern's favour and Heynckes would love one last gamble on European glory, starting at the Emirates.

Bayern Munich manager Jupp Heynckes and midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger look ahead to Bayern Munich's Champions League match against Arsenal on Tuesday.

    Jupp Heynckes, Bayern Munich manager:
"Arsenal are a very good team, especially in attack. We have to be tight in defence and then work our way forward. I don't have a result that I want as such, but I do think we have the capability, if we play at our absolute top level, to win here."

    Bastian Schweinsteiger, Bayern Munich:
"When you've lost two finals the motivation to win is there, it's huge. We have to play this game against Arsenal now. It is our priority to take it step by step so first of all we have to get past Arsenal, that's our main ambition."

Arsene Wenger dismisses Arsenal contract rumours

A visibly angry Arsene Wenger dismissed rumours that he is on the verge of signing a two year contract extension ahead of the first leg of Arsenal's Champions League last 16 tie against Bayern Munich on Tuesday.

Arsene Wenger, Arsenal manager: (On newspaper reports that Wenger is on the verge of signing a two-year contract extension):
"That's the wrong information and there as well I would like, I think I have worked for sixteen years here in England and I deserve a little bit more credit than wrong information that have only one intention, is to harm and if it's good information, who comes from nowhere, it's all right. But this is the wrong information that comes from nowhere and is completely wrong."

    Arsene Wenger, Arsenal manager:
"Well what is important is that you play to win the competition and at some stage you will have to play a big team you know. We play against a good opponent, we are, if I listen to your questions anyway not favourite, but I trust our quality, I trust our spirit and I trust our mental strengths. So see you tomorrow."

    Arsene Wenger, Arsenal manager:
"No, no I want to lose it and I want to lose the game tomorrow so I can, so you can all be happy. We want to win it but in Europe recently you face as well some other teams, who have qualities you know. Barcelona has some qualities, Real Madrid has some qualities, they don't win it every year. We have been consistently and what we want now is of course to break through. We have been in a final, we have been in a semi-final, we have been in the quarter-finals for years and people will say it is not the best opportunity now to do it. I think it is a fantastic opportunity to do it because I believe I have a strong team and I'm sure they will prove me right."

Portuguese champions FC Porto prepare for their Champions League last 16 first leg clash against Spanish outfit Malaga at their training ground in Porto on Monday (18th February).

    Fernando, FC Porto midfielder:
"Champions League matches are always very difficult and demand a lot from me. But it will depend on the match, we know that playing at home we have to have possession of the ball and and control the match and this will not be different in tomorrow's match. We will seek to have ball possession and play as high up the pitch as possible and try to win the match."

    Vitor Pereira, FC Porto coach:
"If history repeats itself, the victory would be guaranteed but as it doesn't, it's the present that counts. At this point Malaga are fourth in the Spanish league, they qualified ahead of Milan and Zenit (St. Petersburg) in the Champions League group stage, so they proved that they are competent, they proved they have quality. We also have proved that we have quality, both individually and as a team which we can bring into this game."

    Vitor Pereira, FC Porto coach:
"Fundamentally, what can be expected is a great match. There's a great match in prospect with two technical sides containing players with a high technical level. From my point of view, the two sides are well organized in a collective way, so I'm sincerely looking forward for a great football spectacle."

Arsenal get ready to host Bayern Munich in the first-leg of their last 16 UEFA Champions League match.

Following a shock FA-Cup cup exit at home to Blackburn on Saturday, Arsenal have some serious work to do at their London Colney training ground if they're to avoid a similar fate in Europe's elite competition.

The Gunners welcome German league leaders Bayern Munich to the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday, and could face a dilemma at left-back.

New signing Nacho Monreal is cup-tied, Kieran Gibbs is out with a thigh injury and Laurent Koscielny faces a fitness test.

In the English Premier League, Arsenal lie fifth, 21 points behind leader Manchester United - and four points behind the fourth spot to qualify for the Champions League for the 16th straight season.

Winning the competition could be Arsenal's only way of remaining among Europe's elite next season - like London rivals Chelsea last year when they beat Bayern in the final to qualify for this year's competition.

The last time these two clubs met was at the same stage of this competition in 2005 - Arsenal won at home 1-0, but lost 3-1 in Munich to exit 3-2 on aggregate.

Real Madrid 1-1 Manchester United - Champions League - Ferguson and Mourinho reflect on draw

Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson and Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho react after the sides drew 1-1 at the Santiano Bernabeu on Wednesday in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League last 16 tie.

    Alex Ferguson, Manchester United manager:
"The first half I was a bit disappointed in how deep we defended, which gave Real a lot of opportunities for crosses and shots. Fortunately David De Gea was excellent, he had three or four really top saves in the game. But we made chances all the time, we kept making chances and hopefully we don't regret that. But the away goal is important, not finished of course, because as we know Real are a fantastic counter-attack team, but it does give us a good chance and I look forward to it."

    Jose Mourinho, Real Madrid manager:
"I think they came here to defend well. They came here to don't concede spaces and goals, and they didn't play to win. But they know they have in attack very important players with great potential that out of nothing can create chances and score goals."

    Jose Mourinho, Real Madrid manager:
"We were together in my dressing room before the match. And of course we were not speaking about tactics and football, we were just relaxed. Now we can't do it because we have to do forty-three televisions (interviews) plus the press conference. But we are friends, life goes on, and see you in three weeks time."

Celtic vs Juventus (0-3) - UEFA Champions League - Lennon: Celtic "need a miracle"

    by sntv 2,176 views

Celtic manager Neil Lennon admits his side "need a miracle" after they lost 3-0 at home to Juventus in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League round of 16 contest.

He also expressed disappointment with the performance of the referee and his assistants.

Antonio Conte, Juventus manager: (on the crowd at Celtic Park):
"When they play at home the crowd are truly fantastic, extraordinary. In my opinion they help the players raise the level of their capacity, not only technically, but in their heart."

Antonio Conte: (on how Juventus struggled with Celtic's first half pressing):
"In the first half it's been a difficult period thanks to Celtic's pressing. At the end of the half I spoke with the players to organise a solution. The two inside midfielders, (Claudio) Marchisio and (Arturo) Vidal, had to be more brave pushing up and in attack. After this the midfield wasn't blocked anymore and the line of five has been more aggressive."

Antonio Conte: (on the team's organisation):
"It's not just about mindset and class, it's also about organisation and to compete at this level both in Europe and the Italian league you have to be well organised. Juventus has demonstrated that we're well organised. In attack and defence I thought we were excellent."

Neil Lennon, Celtic manager: (on the team's chances after tonight's loss):
"We need a miracle. We have to try and be competitive and try and work our way into the tie. I said to the players at half time 1-0 we're fine. There's a long way to go in the second half, but I just felt the heads dropped when the second goal went in and we looked a little bit ragged towards the end."

Neil Lennon: (on if he was unhappy with the referee regarding pulling in penalty area at corners):
"Yes. I'd like to ask the Italian journalists what they make of the way the Juventus players marked our players. It looked to me they were fouling at every opportunity. The referee was warned by our players to keep an eye on it and he ignored our request. And time and time again every time we went to lose our marker we were being hauled back and the referee is looking straight at it. Are the rules different in Spain and Italy because on that showing they must be."

Reaction after Paris Saint-Germain beat Valenica 2-1 in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League last-16 match.

Goals by Ezequiel Lavezzi and Javier Pastore helped the French side record an important away win.

    Carlo Ancelotti, Paris Saint-Germain manager:
"Valencia has shown its quality. They had good ball possession. We have defended very well. All the players worked together. We've recovered the ball many times and we counter attacked a lot. The game was well balanced and so was the performance of the team."

    Carlo Ancelotti, Paris Saint-Germain manager:
"I don't understand Ibrahimovic's red card. He was in the touchline and he tackled an opponent sideway looking for the ball. This is football. I don't understand."

    Javier Pastore, Paris Saint-Germain midfielder:
"It was a complicated game. They had a much greater ball possession than we did. They didn't create as many goal opportunities as we did. We waited for them in our half of the pitch because we knew the game was going to be this way and we would have to play counter-attacking. And things went well for us."

    Marco Verratti, Paris Saint-Germain midfielder:
"It will be a very big push for the whole team because David Beckham is such a great player. He will give a big hand to the team both for the league and Champions League games ahead."

    Ernesto Valverde, Valencia manager:
"It is true that we have had a bad result. The goal scored by Adil Rami gives us hope and we will have to go there to put up a fight. We didn't play well or better, they played very well. They showed great strength, that they are a great and strong team, but we have to play another ninety minutes and we have to try."

Sir Alex Ferguson and David De Gea took part in a news conference in Spain on Tuesday (February 12) - ahead of the first leg of Manchester United's UEFA Champions League round of 16 clash against Jose Mourinho's Real Madrid.

Sir Alex Ferguson, Manchester United Manager:
"It is a game that everyone is waiting for. It's a game, for myself, it's a fantastic challenge for us, a should be a fantastic match with two clubs, two teams who embrace the best parts of football."

Sir Alex Ferguson, Manchester United Manager:
"I think it is a good time, I mean we have a fantastic lead in the Barclay's Premier League and everyone is fit today. So, I think in general terms you come to this part of the season you normally have maybe two or three players injured and we don't have that, which is a big bonus for us - so I think it's a good time."

David De Gea, Manchester United Goalkeeper:
"I think it is important to have the second match at Old Trafford. Obviously if we don't get a positive result here it is worthless to us. The important game is tomorrow and we have to get a good result and arrive alive and with a good result when we come back to our home (at Old Trafford)."

Borussia Dortmund head coach Jurgen Klopp targets Champions League success ahead of his side's last 16 first leg against Shakhtar Donetsk on Wednesday.

Borussia Dortmund haven't had the best preparation for the first leg of their Champions League last 16 tie against Shakhtar Donetsk.

Jurgen Klopp's side lost 4-1 to Hamburg in the Bundesliga on Saturday.

Their hosts for Wednesday's match have had a long time to ready themselves for Dortmund's visit.

Shakhtar haven't played a competitive match since their last Champions League outing against Juventus on December 5th.

The Ukranians have lost a key player in the transfer window since then but Klopp doesn't think Shakhtar will be any weaker since Willian's move to Anzhi Makhachkala.

Jurgen Klopp, Borussia Dortmund FC Head coach:
"Yes, we know that Willian left. I don't think they have lost a lot. We watched their training and they play modern football. It will be intensive powerful game and both teams will demonstrate their skills. We will try not to act as guests on Wednesday. We are really motivated. I don't think I have to try and motivate the players because there is not a weak side out of the 16 teams left in the competition. We have to be in good form and to play our best game."

European success is even more important to Dortmund this season.

The defending German champions trail Bayern Munich by 15 points in the Bundesliga.

A score draw would be an excellent result for Dortmund, but it won't be easy.

Shakhtar advanced to the last 16 at the expense of European champions Chelsea.

Shakhtar Donetsk train on Tuesday (February 12) - the eve of their UEFA Champions League round of 16 first leg fixture against Bundesliga outfit Borussia Dortmund.

Shakhtar Donetsk are on the ball ahead of their last 16 Champions League encounter with Borussia Dortmund.

The Ukrainian side are currently in the middle of the Ukrainian league winter break - which doesn't end until March 1st.

However the side have kept themselves prepared with a series of friendlies and have won 11 out of 12 matches.

Coach Mircea Lucescu insists his side will be match sharp.

Mircea Lucescu, Shakhtar Donetsk FC Head coach:
"Of course, they (means Borussia Dortmund) have played official games in German's championship. We've played semi official games in the cup tournaments we took part in. And this is not competitive, but we have made preparations to be on the same level."

Mircea Lucescu, Shakhtar Donetsk FC Head coach:
"According to meetings we had in Emirates and Spain, I can say that the team is ready and in good form, they truly are prepared and we can answer you tomorrow on whether we can win in Borussia."

Dortmund won the Champions League title in 1997 and then reached the quarterfinals the following season.

Shakhtar have only appeared in the last 16 once before, overcoming Roma in 2011 to reach the quarter-finals.

La Liga side Real Madrid were keen to give little away as they took part in a training session in Spain on Tuesday - ahead of the first leg of their UEFA Champions League round of 16 match against English Premier League champions-elect Manchester United.

Real are 33 matches undefeated on home soil since they were beaten by Barcelona in 2012 and in four meetings with United the worst they have done is draw.

United are now within touching distance of a record 20th league title and their record of three Champions League finals in the last five seasons far exceeds Real's record over the same period, which includes just two semi-final appearances.

The two famous old names of European football have met four times previously in the competition - with the winners going on to lift the trophy on three occasions.

Cristiano Ronaldo will face his old side for the first time since his departure from Old Trafford - the Portuguese fresh from scoring a hat trick against Sevilla last weekend.

Valencia vs PSG - UEFA Champions League - David Beckham stranded in US snow storm

Valencia held a training session at the imposing Mestalla Stadium on Monday, on the eve of the first leg of their Champions League last 16 match against Paris Saint-Germain of France.

Valencia coach Ernesto Valverde has no significant injury worries ahead of the visit of the Ligue 1 leaders.

The likes of Joao Pereira, Victor Ruiz and Diego Alves should return to the starting line-up, having been named amongst the substitutes for the 1-0 win at Celta Vigo at the weekend.

Valencia currently lie in fifth place in La Liga after struggling for consistency this term.

For PSG Thiago Silva is out, as is Thiago Motta - with the pair nursing thigh injuries.

Blaise Matuidi, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Christophe Jallet and Ezequiel Lavezzi were all on the bench in Friday's (February 8) 3-1 win over Bastia, and are all in the frame to play.

Despite not being included in Carlo Ancelotti's squad, David Beckham will hope to take in Tuesday's (February 12) match.

The ex-England captain, who signed a five-month deal at PSG last month, was unable to travel to Spain as planned after being stranded by severe snow storms in the United States of America.

Valencia vs PSG - UEFA Champions League - Lavezzi excited by David Beckham's PSG move

Ezequiel Lavezzi is looking forward to teaming up with David Beckham as PSG prepare to take on Valencia in the last 16 of the Champions League in Spain on Tuesday.

    Ezequiel Lavezzi, Paris Saint-Germain forward:
"I think that at this stage, regardless of whoever is favourite, one cannot make mistakes. You do things wrong and you're out of the competition. Besides that, I think Valencia are a very good team that plays football well. And above all they have experience in a competition like the Champions League."

    Paris Saint-Germain coach Carlo Ancelotti:
"I don't think we are the favourites. The tie is open because we will play against a team that are very organised with very good players, a team of quality. Both teams are in good form. Valencia have found their form and the required quality and organisation. The same goes for PSG. So, I think it will be a very open game."

Ezequiel Lavezzi, Paris Saint-Germain forward (about David Beckham):
"Surely the fact that a player like Beckham arrives is important. I don't think it is only a commercial bet, like you said. The coach will evaluate whether he has to play or not. We will receive him with open arms. We are calm and waiting for him to arrive. And truthfully I have no idea whether he will arrive here tomorrow or not."

Celtic vs Juventus - UEFA Champions League - Juve expect intimidating Celtic Park

Italian champions Juventus prepared in Glasgow on Monday (11 February) for the first leg in their UEFA Champions League last 16 tie against Celtic.

    Antonio Conte, Juventus head coach:
"We have great respect for Celtic. Celtic are returning to the top level, the Champions League, like us. This season we are an "outsider" because we haven't taken part and challenged in the Champions League for a long time. So we're like Celtic as outsiders, and like Celtic we want to go as far as possible in the competition."

    Gianluigi Buffon, Juventus goalkeeper:
"I played Celtic Park two or three times with Parma and with Juventus. I watched from the bench when Juventus played here in the Champions League as it was the last game of the group. However, it's a typically British atmosphere that we know well and are expecting. But, up until today a supporter in the stands has never scored a goal for their team, so hopefully that won't happen against us."

    Antonio Conte, Juventus head coach:
"The Champions League is a dream for us. A dream that we must take game by game because of how tough the knockout stages are. The objective of this dream is to reach the final. We know it'll be difficult against a team like Celtic. We don't have particular expectations, but we also haven't put limits on ourselves."

Barcelona v AC Milan - Champions League Last 16 Draw - Puyol delighted

Barcelona defender Carles Puyol offers his thoughts after the Spanish side were drawn against Serie A outfit AC Milan in the last 16 of the UEFA Champions League on Thursday.

    Carles Puyol, Barcelona captain:
"I am very happy. I said before the draw that I would like to play against Milan and we get to play against them. I'm not happy because it is not an easy match but because I like the team and I like playing at their stadium. It is an impressive stadium. It will be a very good match."

    Carles Puyol, Barcelona captain:
"Real Madrid and Manchester United are two of the best teams in Europe. The same goes for Porto vs. Malaga and Paris Saint-Germain vs. Valencia. All three are complicated knockout ties. But I think the Spanish teams are the favourites (to progress)."

    Carles Puyol, Barcelona captain:
"We don't play by ourselves but we know what we have to do. But Tito (Vilanova) is very important for us. He is our leader. But right now he has another priority and that is logical. We have to fight harder for him. We already have our path laid out and we need to stick to it."

Arsenal v Bayern Munich - Champions League Last 16 Draw - Rummenigge excited

Bayern Munich chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge believes that his team are 'slight favourites' in their tie against Arsenal in the last 16 of the UEFA Champions League.

    Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, Bayern Munich chairman:
"I certainly think that we enter this stage as slight favourites, but we should by no means make the mistake of under-estimating our opponents. When you look at the Premier League table, you see that at least in the first part of the season, Arsenal did not perform very well, but nevertheless this game won't be a foregone conclusion. Basically and honestly, I must say that I am looking forward to both games. The one in London as well as the game back home (in Munich). And then there is also the fact that we now face Borussia Dortmund next opponent in the DFB (Pokal) Cup (German National Cup). This allows us to come to the conclusion that from January 2nd onwards, when the team starts the preparations for the second leg, we must work concentrate hard from the first day in order to achieve our aims. It is absolutely clear, these three games are without a doubt not a foregone conclusion. And we must prove, that we are rightly listed on ranked isecond in the UEFA rankings. We are currently behind FC Barcelona which is perfect for us and it makes us proud, but at the same time, this is also a commitment for us to meet the expectations in the future. I am personally looking forward to meeting my old friend Arsene Wenger and also the general director of Arsenal who I also know very well - at first in London and then later here in Munich. I hope that we will get into the next round then."

Celtic 2-1 Spartak Moscow - Lennon 'proud' as Celtic progress in Champions League.

Reaction after Celtic defeated Spartak Moscow 2-1 on Wednesday to book the Scottish side's place in the Champions League's knockout stage for the first time since 2008.

Neil Lennon, Celtic manager (on tonight's result):

"I'm very proud of the players, they've performed a miracle. No one gave us a prayer coming into this group and we've qualified and deservedly so. I thought we didn't play a great first half, anywhere near as we can. I thought the second half we had great control of the game and deserved to win the game."

Neil Lennon, Celtic manager (on how he felt towards the end of the game):

"Horrible, absolutely horrible. When the five minutes goes up I'm up,. I'm down, I'm turning around, I'm trying to stay calm. You're stomach is churning. You know it's better to be out there playing, they had control of it. (Giorgos) Samaras and Charlie (Mulgrew) and Garry (Hooper) ran down the clock very,. Very well. Again that's something they've learned to do as they went along."

Neil Lennon, Celtic manager (on what's next for the club):

"Now I want them to concentrate on domestic duties and start finding that real consistency in the league. They've shown what they can do at European level. I think a lot of them have put their focus into this campaign and now they can put that to one side for a few months and really start tearing up domestic matters."

Barcelona v Benfica - Champions League preview:

Benfica trained and spoke to the media on Tuesday night ahead of their Champions League Group G meeting with Barcelona.

With Barcelona having already sealed top spot in Group G, Benfica will be battling with Celtic for second and a place in the round of 32 on Wednesday night.
Barcelona v Benfica - Champions League preview:

Benfica and Celtic head into their respective clashes with Barcelona and Spartak Moscow level on points and on goal difference, so the team with the better result will go through.

History is against Benfica - the Portuguese giants have never won at Camp Nou, but defender Ezequiel Garay believes Benfica have the capability to change that.

    Ezequiel Garay, Benfica defender:
"I think that we should worry about our team. We've come here to do what we have to do, which is to win. Any other result than that is not enough. And we only depend on ourselves. We know we have a team able to achieve that. And we know that tomorrow will be a very difficult game, but we also know we have big chances of achieving what we all want to achieve."

The 1961 and 1962 winners of the European Cup are also weakened by injuries for the trip across the border.

Argentine midfield trio Pablo Aimar, Enzo Perez and Eduardo Salvio are all unavailable, while Carlos Martins is also out with a hamstring problem.

Jorge Jesus's side won their last two Champions League games, defeating Spartak Moscow and Celtic in Lisbon, but they have yet to win away in the competition this season.

Chelsea v Nordsjaelland - Champions League preview - Rafael Benitez: 'The team has to perform'

    by sntv 414 views

Chelsea v Nordsjaelland - Champions League preview:

Chelsea prepared on Tuesday for a must win Champions League Group E match against Nordsjaelland, as the European champions look to keep their hopes of reaching the round of 16 alive.

Never has a team lifted the Champions League trophy then failed to advance from the group stage the following season. However, Chelsea must win their final game in Group E - at home to Nordsjaelland and then hope Shakhtar Donetsk beat Juventus if they are to reach the last 16.

Former Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez hasn't had the easiest of starts to his reign at Chelsea following the sacking of Roberto di Matteo. The 'Blues' were held to goalless home draws in his first two games in charge and then they squandered a 1-0 lead away to West Ham before eventually losing 3-1.

It had been hoped that Benitez would bring the best out of Fernando Torres. So Rafa could Nordsjaelland be the perfect opposition for Torres to reclaim his scoring touch?

Rafael Benitez, Chelsea manager (on whether Nordsjaelland will be the perfect opponents for Fernando Torres to rediscover his scoring form against):
"No, again, we say it's the team. The team has to perform, the team has to win, the team has to score goals. It's not just one player. But.... I say to our players before, 'Be careful. It's a team that has nothing to lose."

Benitez has received a hostile reception from some Chelsea fans. Well aware of the boos from the crowd, midfielder Juan Mata said he remains focused on doing his job.

Juan Mata, Chelsea midfielder (on whether he heard Chelsea fans jeering Rafael Benitez during matches at Stamford Bridge):
"The supporters are free to do whatever they want, but.... my job here and our job is to play well and to win."

Some say Chelsea need a miracle to progress, they may well be inspired by the one in Munich last May.

Chelsea v Nordsjaelland - Champions League preview:

Danish outfit FC Nordsjaelland look ahead to Wednesday's Champions League Group E match against holders Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in London on Tuesday.

    Kaspar Hjulmand, Nordsjaelland coach:
"Oh, I don't know. We'll try our best. If you look at the last match (Nordsjaelland 2-5 Shakhtar Donetsk), for 80 minutes we played maybe some of the best football we have been playing and of course it's a different place here at Stamford (Bridge), but we'll do our best to perform and who knows? I think we're able to compete and well do our best to get a result."

    Kaspar Hjulmand, Nordsjaelland coach:
"It is weird... I think it is weird. We just have to focus on what's going on on the pitch, that's the important thing of course, a draw will be in our advantage... so the psychology is of course to see if we have a result as far as possible, because that could be an advantage at some point, but we can't do anything about that, we can only focus on what's important for us, and that's what we're going to do on the pitch, no matter what happens outside. No matter what we hear, or see, this is all about us performing and we have to be very concentrated and play maybe our best match ever to get a result and that's where we have our focus."

    Kaspar Hjulmand, Nordsjaelland coach:
"So... I don't know... I think of course with the talent, the quality that Chelsea have, it's just a matter of time. It's only a matter of time, they've got a very good manager (Rafa Benitez) and a talented team, so... they have a little dip right now, but they'll come back and they'll show who they are in the near future. Maybe not tomorrow, hopefully not tomorrow, but after that, its just a matter of time."

Braga v Galatasaray - Champions League preview:

Braga reflect on their exit from the Champions League as they prepare for their final Group H game against Galatasaray.

Bottom of Group H - and with no chance of entering the Europa League - what can you do? Well, Braga will be looking to disrupt Galatasaray's European plans as they play in the Champion's League on Wednesday.

Braga recorded their only win of their Champions League campaign against their upcoming Turkish opponents in Istanbul.

Coach Jose Peseiro was left to rue missed opportunities at the pre-match press conference.

    Jose Peseiro, Braga coach:
"We are feeling hurt and upset with ourselves because we didn't manage to accomplish something that we think we deserved but we have to forget about that. Maybe after we beat Galatasaray and that is what we want to do, we can then meditate a bit more about this but at the present time we are motivated and enthusiastic. This is a Champions (League) match and we have to show what we are, a team with it's own identity and with very good players"

They had 35 shots on goal against Cluj in their opening Group H match - but still fell to a 2-0 defeat. The Portuguese outfit also led Manchester United 2-0 at Old Trafford - before succumbing to a 3-2 defeat.

It was a similar story when the English side travelled to Braga on matchday four - the home side led until the 80th minute when a late burst from Man United sealed a 3-1 triumph.

Barcelona v Benfica - Champions League preview:

Barcelona prepare to face Benfica in their Group G Champions League game - with Messi set to play.

    Barcelona defender Adriano Correia:
"The goal tomorrow is to win the game. Even though we know we are already qualified. We need to win the game. We all hope that Leo (Messi) scores tomorrow so he can level Mueller's record. Because it has remained unbroken for the last forty years I think. We will be all by his side and will do everything we can to make it possible."

    Barcelona coach Tito Vilanova:
"We have held a very intense training session. As if we were playing a very important game tomorrow. There is no difference. Tomorrow is a very important game. Because this is Barcelona and even when we play a friendly game people are watching us and we need to display our best level. Tomorrow we play Champions League and besides Benfica there are also other teams with their qualification at stake. So we will try to play the game as best as we can."

    Barcelona coach Tito Vilanova:
"As we talked previously the most important thing about this team is not just what they've won with Barcelona but also what many of them have won with the Spanish national team. And that will to win remains. The same will I used to see in them during my first days with them. Five years later I still see the same longing in their faces."

Celtic trained on Tuesday ahead of their crucial Champions League Group G encounter with Spartak Moscow.

For Celtic, there is still the opportunity of landing a place in the last 16 of the Champions League for the first time since 2008.

The Scottish side currently sit third in Group G behind Benfica - level on points but behind them on the head-to-head-record.

Now Neil Lennon's side must hope they come out with a better result against Spartak Moscow on Wednesday than Benfica can manage in their final group game at Barcelona.

Barcelona, who beat Benfica 2-0 in the first leg, top the group with 12 points, dropping points only when they lost to 2-1 to Celtic.

Celtic beat Spartak 3-2 in their first encounter in the Russian capital - the Moscow side have since replaced Unai Emery for Valeri Karpin as coach and have been eliminated from the competition.

Midfielder Victor Wanyama is unavailable for Celtic through suspension after picking up a yellow card in their most recent Champions League outing - a 2-1 defeat at Benfica.

Shakhtar Donetsk are preparing for their final Champions League Group E game at home to Juventus on Wednesday - with the Ukrainian side already having booked their place in the last sixteen of the tournament and needing to avoid defeat against Juventus to secure top spot in Champions League Group E.

But if the Italians prevail in Donetsk on Wednesday, Juventus will be the seeded side in the draw for the last 16. It is an unexpected scenario for Shakhtar head coach Mirca Lucescu.

Mircea Lucescu, Shakhtar FC head coach:

Manchester United v CFR Cluj - Champions League preview:

Manchester United trained on Tuesday, on the eve of their final Champions League Group H game against Romanian outfit CFR Cluj.

Compared to a number of their English rivals, Manchester United are already sure of their spot in the last 16 of the Champions League.

United will finish top of Group H regardless of the score-line against Cluj.

So, Sir Alex Ferguson is likely to experiment with his starting line-up at Old Trafford on Wednesday.

Nemanja Vidic is back in training after undergoing knee surgery in September.

However, Ferguson has ruled out a return to first team action against the Romanian champions.

The Man United boss may be wary risking any further injuries - Cluj have committed more fouls than any other team in the Champions League this season.

The Romanians will certainly be determined to cause an upset in Manchester.

Cluj need to better Galatasary's result in Braga if they are to progress to the knock-out stages, otherwise they will be playing in the Europa League.

However, United are clear favourites as they have only lost one of their last 37 Champions League matches at home.

But with a crucial Manchester derby in the Premier League on Sunday, the likes of Robin Van Persie are likely to be rested.

The opportunity to make history is there for Cluj, who are unbeaten away from home in their four Champions League matches so far.

PSG v Porto - Champions League preview - Ancelotti: PSG 'working hard to meet expectations'.

PSG coach Carlo Ancelotti under pressure ahead of Porto match.

    Carlo Ancelotti, PSG coach:
"Sometimes criticism is deserved, everyone at PSG is sorry because we haven't started the season well. In the French championship we lost three games, we are five points behind Lyon. We feel sorry, but everyone at PSG thinks things will change."

    Carlo Ancelotti, PSG coach:
"This match is a great opportunity after being defeated to play against a big club like Porto, a club with experience. This might be an opportunity for us to forget our defeat against Nice and to get our confidence back. The match is important for that, not for other things.''

    Maxwell, PSG defender:
"Criticism is always there in football. We are trying to focus on getting better. Of course, we are aware that we are not meeting the expectations, we recognise that and are working hard to meet those expectations."

Paris Saint-Germain v Porto preview - Ancelotti under pressure at PSG

Paris Saint-Germain welcome Porto in the Champions League on Tuesday. Both teams are already through to the next round but PSG must beat the Portuguese side to finish top of group A, but Porto will be feeling confident after beating PSG 1-0 in the reverse fixture.

For coach Carlo Ancelotti there maybe more at stake than first place in the group. The Italian could be fighting for his job amid reports that the club's rich Qatari owners have lost patience following a terrible run of domestic form.

Saturday's 2-1 defeat at Nice was the club's third in the past five league games and came only days after they were knocked out of the League Cup.

The usual big names have been suggested as potential replacements - Pep Guardiola, Jose Mourinho, Arsene Wenger - you know the score.

The French club will again look to Swedish forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic who has been in great form in the Champions League, setting up five of the club's last six goals in the competition.

Valencia 1-1 Bayern Munich - Mauricio Pellegrino: Valencia played 'maximum intensity'

A 10-man Valencia team drew 1-1 at home against last season's finalist Bayern Munich on Tuesday, a result that sent both the German and Spanish side through to the knockout stages of the Champions League.

Jupp Heynckes, coach of FC Bayern Munich:
"Obviously we have to analyse this game as we would any other game. Valencia is one of the best three teams in Spain. The intensity they've displayed with ten players is as high as it gets. It was excellent. So it's difficult to play against a team that has played so well when defending."

    Mauricio Pellegrino, Valencia coach:
"Today we played a game of maximum intensity against a team of the highest level. I think that above all the team played today in a very intelligent way and were on top of the situations we created. Despite having ten players, we never lost our structure and we seized all the opportunities that we created. These are games that serve as a framework for future matches. I hope we can continue to play at this level."

Franck Ribery, FC Bayern Munich forward:
"It is very important for Bayern Munich to be top of our group. We have many more games ahead of us. Of course we always want to win, but sometimes it's difficult, like today in Valencia. But in the end we got one point and that is a good thing."

Italy's Juventus took a major step toward qualifying for the Champions League knockout stages on Tuesday with a 3-0 win over Chelsea, which could become the first reigning titleholder to fail to progress past the group stage.

    Roberto Di Matteo, Chelsea manager:
"Big disappointment. Obviously difficult evening for us, for the team, for the club. So, you know, there was a lot for reflection."

    Roberto Di Matteo, Chelsea manager:
"Well, mathematically is still possible, until there's hope you try. Who says that Juventus is not going lose against Shakhtar? We just have to make sure that we do our job on our end and win the last group game. And, you know, with ten points normally, usually it's enough, sometimes is not, but a lot of times it is."

    Angelo Alessio, Juventus assistant manager:
"A big thank you to our supporters, they gave us a big advantage. Stephan Lichtsteiner played a great match, as well as the rest of the team. We are very happy with this win, and very happy with the game we played. The match went just as we had hoped."

CFR Cluj 3-1 Braga - Jose Peseiro: Braga 'made a lot of mistakes'

CFR Cluj still have a chance of qualifying for the last 16 of the Champions League after the Romanian side defeated Portugal's Braga 3-1 in Group H on Tuesday.

    Jose Peseiro, Braga coach:
"We made a lot of mistakes. The responsibility lies with me. We conceded goals too many in different situations, three goals. We lacked concentration, and we were too emotional. We left too many empty spaces for our opposition and even though they played without a real striker, they managed to score very easily. We lost but I don't believe we showed our true ability. I believe we are better than CFR and I take responsibility for the result. It's entirely my fault. We must now concentrate and move forward."

    Paulo Sergio, CFR coach:
"To be honest, I expected it to be an close match following our last game we played against Galatasaray. Anyway it wasn't easy for us. Today we managed to play well and to control possession. We obviously had to work very hard. We had to make sure we didn't make the same mistakes as we did against Galatasaray, and now we're in a very good position."

Coach Leonardo Jardim reiterates the must-win nature of Olympiacos' Champions League match against Schalke on Wednesday.

Greek league leaders Olympiacos must avoid defeat when they take on Schalke in a Champions League Group B match on Wednesday, if they are to keep their hopes of reaching the knock out stages of the tournament alive.

Leonardo Jardim's men currently lie third in the group on six points - two points behind Schalke a single point behind Arsenal.

They lost 2-1 to Schalke in their opening group game back in September, but since then have recorded two confidence boosting victories over Montpellier.

    Leonardo Jardim, Olympiacos coach:
"We have to win because we want to get into the next round so we have to try to stop their strong defence and use every chance we get to score"

Olympiacos will be looking to hoping a win against Schalke will go along way to achieving their last 16 dream.

Dynamo Kiev v Paris Saint-Germain preview - Ancelotti: PSG won't play 'empty' match

Dynamo Kiev and Paris Saint-Germain trained and spoke to the press on Tuesday (November 20th) - the eve of their meeting in the Champions League.

Third in the French Ligue, second in Champions League Group A, Paris Saint-Germain need just one point at Dynamo Kiev to seal their place in the last 16 of Europe's elite competition.

Carlo Ancelotti's side have lost two home games in a row in Ligue-1, and although Kiev's Olympic Stadium will provide a daunting atmosphere, the Italian insists his side will play on the front foot.

    Carlo Ancelotti, PSG manager:
"Of course we understand that for us it is enough to play for a draw and go to the round of 16, but we come here not to play an "empty" match, we are here to win. And I, as the main coach, will do my best to lead the team to a positive result."

The home side meanwhile are currently third in the Group A standings, five points behind PSG, so only a win will keep alive their hopes of advancing.

Kiev held leaders Porto to goalless draw in the last round, and manager Oleh Blokhin says they'll need a similar performance against the French giants.

    Oleh Blokhin, Dynamo Kiev manager:
"Our task is to win, but the first task for the team is to go on the field and compete as we did in the match with Porto. Of course there were some mistakes. But at least they had desire to play."

Porto, who have already sealed their place in the next round, host Dinamo Zagreb in Wednesday night's other game in Group A.

Arsenal v Montpellier preview - Girard: 'It is a privilege to play in the Champions League'

    by sntv 186 views

Despite having little to play for, Montpellier coach Rene Girard insists his squad would give their all in their Champions League clash at Arsenal on Wednesday (21st November).

With just one point from four Champions League games, French champions Montpellier are out but have a slim chance of reaching third position and qualification for the Europa League.

Even that seems a long shot, given third placed Olympiakos are five points ahead with just two games to play.

Up next for Rene Girard's side is a trip to face former striker Olivier Giroud and his new team Arsenal on Wednesday, and the Montpellier boss insists his side won't roll over for the Gunners.

    Rene Girard, Montpellier coach:
"It is a privilege (for the squad) to play in the Champions League. All of the lads dreamt of this and fought all of last season to qualify for the Champions League, so it is a game that you have to respect. We are playing at the top level and it is an absolute privilege. So it is obviously a very important game as I have said many times in the past. We are currently just trying to find a bit more consistency, both defensively and going forward."

If Montpellier don't pull off a miracle to qualify for the Europa League, it might not be such a bad thing.

The champions are 14th in Ligue-1 and are desperate for a return to form domestically.

Ajax v Borussia Dortmund - Champions League preview

Group D leaders Borussia Dortmund continue their preparations to play Ajax in the Champions League on Wednesday. For Borussia Dortmund, the equation is simple - if they take a point from their match against Ajax, they will book their place in the last 16 of the Champions League.

The German side, currently lying fourth in the Bundesliga, have eight points from their four Group D games so far.

Despite that all four teams in the group - which also includes Real Madrid and Manchester City - still have a mathematical chance of progressing.

    Jurgen Klopp, manager Borussia Dortmund:
"It's not so sure but there is a possibility qualify to tomorrow. That's our expectation. Having eight points is good, Ajax has four points and can do more. For sure we will see a good match where we will try to get a good result against Ajax. All teams in this group are having still good chance, but we will see".

Ajax slipped to a narrow 1-0 defeat in their first encounter with Dortmund in Germany but the Amsterdam club have never lost to a German club side on home soil, winning 12 of their previous 13 matches.

Real Madrid can take a big step towards qualification for the last 16 of the Champions League with victory at Manchester City on Wednesday, while a win or a draw for the Spanish champions would also eliminate their English counterparts from the competition.

Coach Jose Mourinho admitted on Tuesday the group could have turned out differently if City had hung on to win at the Bernabeu.

    Jose Mourinho, Real Madrid coach:
"That game was crucial probably, almost for sure, if City won that match the history would be a different history, but we had a fantastic reaction in that match, we won the match, and that three points are crucial for us to be in this moment, I'm not saying a completely safe position, but in a position where we depend only on ourselves, and we are in good conditions to qualify

As it is, Manchester City are bottom of the group, with just two points, and only a mathematical chance of qualification.

Schalke continue their preparations to face Olympiacos on Wednesday (21st November). A win would put German side through to the knock out stages of the UEFA Champions League.

Schalke are currently second in the Bundesliga and will be looking to bounce back from a disappointing 2-0 loss to Bayer Leverkusen.

Huub Stevens' side faced heavy criticism for their performance following that defeat, but the manager says all that matters at the end of the day are results.

Huub Stevens, coach (on the criticism following the loss to Bayer Leverkusen):
"It's quite normal that you are being criticised if you play bad and lose, I don't have a problem with that. In a moment like that it doesn't count if you played a good season so far but it's just a snapshot in time and we accept that. What's important for me is the end result, where we stand after 34 games in the Bundesliga and where we go in the champions league is what interests me."

Meanwhile Greek side Olympiacos are third in the group with six points from their games so far and need to avoid defeat if they are to keep their hopes of reaching the next stage alive.

An out of form Chelsea side prepare to take on Serie A giants Juventus in their UEFA Champions League Group E fixture in Turin on Tuesday night.

    Roberto Di Matteo, Chelsea manager:
"At the moment we are thinking positively, we played a good game at home against Juventus, it is going to be a difficult one tomorrow for sure, but as I said they are under pressure to win the match as well, so it will make it an interesting game."

    Gary Cahill, Chelsea defender:
"In the short space of time that I've been here losing games is not acceptable, likewise when you do lose people are disappointed and people are hurt and upset. So it is definitely a positive thing. Sometimes things need to be said and afterwards it's great to have that reaction. I'd be worried if people were going in and just having a shower and getting on the bus. That's for sure. What happens in the changing room stays there but it's definitely a positive reaction when lads are that hurt and upset after we have lost a game of football."

    Roberto Di Matteo, Chelsea manager:
"Ashley (Cole) is available. I think we need to have attention and focus in certain situations defensively, we have enough players to deal with that but I think the focus will be very important to that."

Sporting Braga trained and spoke to the media in Romania on Monday (November 19th) ahead of their Champions League Group H match with CFR Cluj.

With only three points to show for their four matches in Group H to date, Braga know that a win will be vital to their hopes of reaching the last 16 when they face CFR Cluj on Tuesday night.

Jose Peseiro's side trained at Cluj's Stadium on Monday night, enveloped by thick fog. Peseiro is hoping that his players could eliminate the mistakes that have led to them losing three of their four games in this season's group stage:

"From the previous matches we've learnt to maintain the same serious approach of the game that we usually know, to prepare very well the attack, to keep the ball in our possession as long as we can and from there on to try to eliminate the mistakes we made in the previous matches."

The two sides met in the first round of this season's group stages matches, with Cluj taking all three points on that occasion. Braga will be looking to prevent a double for Cluj on Tuesday night.

Sir Alex Ferguson and his Manchester United team manage to avoid the Galatasaray fans when they landed in Istanbul, Turkey, on Monday.

Sir Alex Ferguson, Manchester United manager:
"We didn't get the meeting by the fans today. We dodged that. But in '93 when we came here it was incredible. It was quite frightening. But it was something new so - we have been here a few times since and so we have got used to the Turkish fanaticism and enthusiasm which is fantastic. It's no issue for us."

    Darren Fletcher, Manchester United:
"I think it is a lot more hostile. They are really passionate to their own team. I have not experienced playing against Galatasaray before but I have been to Bursaspor and Besiktas. It is a really unique atmosphere.and one which, as players, we are going to have to deal with but it is a challenge as well. It is an arena and a team that I have never played in before. So for me as a player, it is one that I am looking forward to and if anything it is about trying to enjoy the atmosphere and take in the occasion and hopefully that brings out the best in your performances."

Juventus midfielder and assistant manager, Angelo Alessio, focus on the Italian side's Champions League Group E clash with Chelsea on Tuesday.

    Claudio Marchisio, Juventus midfielder:
"We won't be tired, because this kind of match gives you much strength. Everyone wants to play these kind of matches. The important thing is that the team will play as we did in the last matches, with the same performances against Pescara or Lazio. We had two different results, but the team had the right motivation and played very well. We didn't win the last match, but if we keep the same mentality we can do it again against Chelsea and it will be a great game. We also hope to have great support, because they were crucial last year in our championship win and we hope to have their support in such an important match in the Champions League "

    Angelo Alessio, Juventus assistant manager:
"They got a last minute win against Shakhtar . We know the strength of Chelsea and we respect it. It is a must win game. There's no fear because we can create lots of chances to score. We scored six goals against Pescara and four in Champions League against the Danish team. So I am absolutely confident in the quality and motivation of our players."

Galatasary head coach Fatih Terim believes that his side have every chance of beating Manchester United in the Champions League in Istanbul on Tuesday.

    Fatih Terim, Galatasaray coach:
"Galatasaray are the most successful team in Turkish history, the best team from Turkey in Europe and the most renowned Turkish team in the world. Just like I mentioned in the previous press conference, it would be news if Galatasaray can't make it to the second round, not the other way around. So it really is important for us to be there."

    Fatih Terim, Galatasaray coach:
"We are going to play against one of the best clubs in the world. We are going to play against one of the most respected managers in the world, Alex Ferguson, and his team. If we look at history, teams like Manchester United are not beaten that easily. If you can win against them, you can call it a victory. And if you beat them at the right time, then it is a success."

Valencia v Bayern Munich preview - Ribery should be fit for Valencia trip

    by sntv 359 views

Bayern Munich head coach Jupp Heynckes hopes Franck Ribery will be fit to face Valencia in an important Champions League Group F match on Tuesday.

    Javi Martinez, Bayern Munich midfielder:
"Valencia are a very complicated rival. Every year they sell star players. This year they've sold Jordi Alba and before that they've sold Mata, Silva, Villa among many others. They are always at the top and competing in that league of their own that excludes Barcelona and Real Madrid. So they always finish third or fourth in Spain. That deserves lot of credit because it isn't easy at all."

    Toni Kroos, Bayern Munich midfielder:
"Our intention is not to lose in Valencia in any case. During the first leg we have shown that we can pick up at least a point against Valencia. After we lost against BATE Borisov we knew that the group was going to get complicated. But our goal is to gain a point and if we can gain three that's even better."

    Jupp Heynckes, Bayern Munich manager:
"Ribery could conduct part of the training on Sunday and we hope that he will be able to follow the whole training session on Monday. If that is the case and he can finish the training session then it is very likely that he will play."

Barcelona coach Tito Vilanova and midfielder Cesc Fabregas spoke to the media in Russia on Monday ahead of their Champions League Group G game against Spartak Moscow.

    Cesc Fabregas, Barcelona:
"I think that the climate will not be a big problem, because we all play in both the heat and cold, we have all played on artificial and natural turf. This year our team, for example, played in Belarus in the cold. As for the artificial turf, you would see during a training how the ball bounces and how to run on the field. But I think that this should not worry us much, during a match we should be focused on the game."

Tito Vilanova, Head Coach - Barcelona:
"Last season was a good one. This year also promises to be a good campaign. Many players have had to rest in the Champions League. For possible injuries, we have brought two additional players to Moscow. But in general, things are going well."

Valencia face Bayern Munich in crucial Champions League match

    by sntv 109 views

Subscribe for the latest news from SNTV: http://bit.ly/X6816L

Both Valencia and Bayern Munich could progress to the Champions League knock-out stages on Tuesday.

Valencia trail Group F leaders Bayern on goal difference. The Germans only need to draw, whilst Valencia need to win to make it through to the last 16 with a game to spare.

Valencia are imperious at home, winning their last seven matches at the Mestalla, including their group games against Lille and BATE Borisov.

But Bayern will provide a tough test. The Bavarians thrashed Lille 6-1 in their last European outing and they possess some of Europe's most dangerous players.

Valencia have their own stars. Roberto Soldado has scored 15 goals in his last 14 Champions League starts. The 27-year-old failed to score when the two sides met in September as Bayern ran out 2-1 winners.

However Bayern have never won at the Mestalla, drawing twice and losing one of their three visits to Valencia.

Manchester United train ahead of Braga game

Manchester United prepared at their Carrington training ground before flying to northern Portugal for their Champions League match against Braga.

Victory would keep up their one hundred percent record in Group H and, more importantly, guarantee Sir Alex Ferguson's men a place in next year's knockout stages.

The match against Braga is the second of a double header, after United came from two goals down at Old Trafford to beat the Portuguese side two weeks ago.

Striker Javier Hernandez scored twice in that match, and could be recalled to the starting line up after sitting on the sub's bench for Saturday's 2-1 English Premier League win over Arsenal.

Defender Jonny Evans also scored against Braga, and he is expected to continue at centre-half, as United continue to struggle with injuries in that position.

Chris Smalling is back in training, but Ferguson says he is unlikely to be ready in time, while Nemanja Vidic and Phil Jones are still out.

Fellow central defender Rio Ferdinand celebrates his 34th birthday on the day of the match, and this could be his last game of this season's group stages.

Ferguson has said he will rest the veteran defender from their two remaining group games, away at Galatasaray and at home against Cluj, if United guarantee qualification for the last sixteen.

Midfielder Shinji Kagawa is the other major injury absentee.

Braga are currently third in Group H, just a point behind second placed Cluj, so a win for them would greatly increase their chances of qualifying for the knockout stages.

CFR Cluj v Galatasaray Champions League preview

    by sntv 2,378 views

Subscribe for the latest news from SNTV: http://bit.ly/X6816L

Second in Group H behind Manchester United, CFR Cluj are harbouring real expectations that they can reach the knockout stages of the Champions League for the first time.

The Romanian side are now managed by Portuguese coach Paulo Sergio following their last outing, a 1-1 draw in Istanbul against Galatasaray.

Cluj have already beaten Braga away before a narrow 2-1 home defeat to Manchester United.

The newly installed coach recognises their opponents have their strengths - but also believes there are weaknesses his side can exploit.

"They (Galatasaray) are a strong team they have a lot of abilities, technical abilities. A team very fast, very vertical in their movements in their attack but they have their problems too. If they don't have problems probably they will lead the Turkish league - and they are not. So other teams are scoring against Gala too so we have our chances. "

Cluj warmed up for Wednesday's game with a 5-0 win in the Romanian league, whilst Galatasaray arrive in Romania on the back of a domestic 3-1 win that sees them maintain their position at the top of the Turkish Super Lig.

Sergio has only one injury concern heading into the tie - with Brazilian midfielder Rafael Bastos expected to miss the encounter through injury.

Borussia Dortmund v Real Madrid (2-1) - Mourinho and Klopp reactions to Dortmund win

    by sntv 5,030 views

Borussia Dortmund beat Real Madrid 2-1 at home to move top of their UEFA Champions League Group D.

    Jose Mourinho, Real Madrid manager:
"It's a very hard group and in this moment with this result there is still a gap between us and the other two. So when you go seven and six (points) and there is a gap for three and one (points). In this moment, we and Borussia, we are in a better situation to go (to the knockout stage), but why can't (Manchester) City make ten points, nine plus one, they can make ten points. So I think us and Borussia we have to think about do eleven (points)."

    Jurgen Klopp, Borussia Dortmund manager:
"Real are still favourites, it's a very intense, difficult group and no one has gone through yet. Ajax beat Manchester City, everybody thought they'd come fourth, that will give them a lot of confidence for their game in Manchester, when we have to play at Real. Real are favourites, which is not bad, but still we wanted to beat them."

Tito Vilanova and Neil Lennon's reactions after Jordi Alba scored in the 94th minute to give Spanish side Barcelona a 2-1 win over their Scottish opponents Celtic in UEFA Champions League Group G.

    Neil Lennon, Celtic manager:
"Everyone says it must be fantastic going to the Nou Camp, but not when you are at ground level and you're having to work against a team as good as that. They (the players) were brave and I couldn't ask any more of them really, just thirty seconds more, just to see it through. But they can take a lot from the game and I hope they do, but you just never can tell."

    Tito Vilanova, Barcelona manager:
"In the end if you don't persist until the end trying to score you don't win the game. Playing up in their area the way we did has risks because they are very strong and powerful in their area. They could have scored a second goal, we know it, but if you don't persist until the last moment, you don't get to win games like this one."

    Oleh Gusev, Dynamo Kiev midfielder:
"My opinion of Porto is that they are young players, very fast players - as they showed in their last Champions League matches. It is going to be a very tough match."

    Oleksiy Mykhaylychenko::
"Porto is a young team with very fast players, very well trained who have their particular way of playing. As for what I've seen in previous Porto matches, they try to make their opponents play their game, not giving them opportunities to counter-attack."

Arsenal v Schalke preview - Jermaine Jones: Schalke do not fear Arsenal

    by sntv 1,772 views

Schalke midfielder, Jermaine Jones, declared that the Huub Stevens' side don't fear Arsenal ahead of their Champions League Group B clash at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday.

    Jermaine Jones, FC Schalke:
"It's, I think so, it is the hardest game in this group but yeah, we have respect for Arsenal but we are not scared of them. We come today to - and tomorrow too - to show that we can steal points and what I am saying is that we have respect for the whole team of Arsenal - but we are not scared."

    Huub Stevens:
"As I have said Santi Cazorla is a great midfielder, a great quality player. If you look at all the players at Arsenal you cannot only concentrate on stopping one player, you have to play as a whole team against their whole team. It is not just (Lukas) Poldolski, it is not just Cazorla, there are so many great players here. We also have players with good qualities and we want to, and hope to, use those qualities."

Borussia Dortmund v Real Madrid preview - Mourinho: Real Madrid to target Dortmund 'weaknesses'

    by sntv 766 views

Real Madrid need to shake off their abysmal away form in Germany when they face Borussia Dortmund in Group D of the Champions League on Wednesday.

    Jose Mourinho, Real Madrid coach:
"We analyse our opponents globally - that is the most important thing for us. The dynamic, the style of play, the strong points. I don't say weak points because they are a very good team. But some little weaknesses, and that is the way we approach the match. We are not so worried about individual players. But we know they are full of very good players and we have to respect them and that is what we are going to do."

"We are well prepared for the match and of course we are motivated, that is normal. In the Champions league you meet teams that are on the same level with similar qualities. So sure, the players are motivated and I am optimistic."

Malaga v AC Milan preview - Ambrosini: 'It's a difficult moment'

    by sntv 577 views

AC Milan arrived in Malaga on Tuesday hoping to put their poor domestic form to one side as they prepared for their Champions League encounter in Spain.

Enduring their worst domestic start for 71 years, AC Milan come up against Champions League newcomers Malaga in Group C on Wednesday.

Malaga have never lost at home in Europe and are aiming to make it three wins out of three.

After losing five of their eight Italian League matches, Massimiliano Allegri's position as coach is coming under considerable scrutiny. Massimo Ambrosini believes the team need to regain their confidence:

"It's a difficult moment but we have to understand we can improve, we have to improve as a team, as individual players and we need to get that confidence in ourselves, in our colleagues and in our coach".

Milan are second in the group with one win and one draw so far.

They'll have to do without first choice keeper Christian Abbiati, full back Ignazio Abate and midfielder Nigel de Jong for the game in Spain.

Borussia Dortmund v Real Madrid preview - Klopp: 'Real Madrid will be a massive challenge"

    by sntv 1,821 views

Borussia Dortmund will be looking to overhaul Real Madrid at the top of Group D of Champions League qualifying when the two teams meet in Germany on Wednesday.

    Jurgen Klopp, Borussia Dortmund coach:
"Real Madrid will be a massive challenge for us. We have watched them play many games. I thought that the Ajax game was an absolute highlight. Everything was there - tactical discipline - it was fast, checking, pressing - it was football of the highest quality. It was really impressive."

    Sven Bender, Borussia Dortmund midfielder:
"It is special to play against Real Madrid in the Champions League. We had a friendly against them two years ago here at home and that was special but now it is about points so that will be a real highlight. We are looking forward to it. It is great to have them here in the stadium - not just on the Playstation."

    Jurgen Klopp:
"Tomorrow, we have to work with the ball with discipline, as we did in Manchester. We will have to watch some of their key players very closely. If you play Madrid and don't attack Xabi Alonso straight away, you have a problem. If you let Ronaldo start, you have a problem. If you don't watch (Angel) di Maria you have a problem. Benzema ... he's great quality. We approach the game with the same spirit that we had after Man City when we saw how strong we can be if we play as well as we can. That is how we are going to try to play our game against Man City."

Ajax v Manchester City preview - Mancini to start Dzeko against Ajax

    by sntv 432 views

Manchester City manager will hand Edin Dzeko a place in the starting line-up for the Champions League Group D match against Ajax after the striker netted a brace when he came on as a substitute against West Brom in the Premier League.

    Roberto Mancini, Manager, Manchester City:
"This group is very difficult. We started within this group very well, but we have four games and we know that tomorrow will be difficult game. One can think that will be an easy game but Ajax play fantastic football even if they have a young team but they play very well. Every game in the champions league is difficult even if you play at home and in that way it's more difficult. It's clear that we can lose other chance but you know we have 12 points and we have to do our best."

    Vincent Kompany, Captain, Manchester City:
"We are very disciplined them and we have always shown and we have great capacity to react. Tomorrow is a different game again , tomorrow will be a different set up and it is important to win."

    Roberto Mancini:
"It's always difficult when you have four strikers like Mario, Edin, Carlos and Sergio and I should chose only two to play and to watch the bench is always difficult. Dzeko was fantastic on Saturday against West Bromwich. Every time when he plays from the start he plays well and tomorrow will be the same."

Dinamo Zagreb host Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League on Wednesday. The Croatian side have won their last two matches and are seven points clear at the top of the Croatian league.

However, they have lost both their games in the Champions League without scoring.

    Ante Cacic, Dinamo Zagreb coach:
"We are now preparing for a Champions League game where the opponent is from one of the best leagues. Furthermore, the Parisians will play an international game against a Croatian team for the first time. This means a lot not only for Dinamo but for the whole of Croatian football. Moreover, we are playing in a group where every individual result has its own significance. The series so far has already proved that we have to prepare better and better and only full concentration during the 90 minutes can lead us to reach our goal. We know that the favourites are not us but I think we have been pretty good in our last two games. I do trust that we will be even better."

    Josip Simunic, Dinamo Zagreb defender:
"We, the players, know well that the favourites ahead of the match are the team team from Paris. However, if we do our best, it's absolutely not certain that the team considered to be the favourite will win the game".

Arsenal v Schalke preview - Wenger targets double over Schalke

    by sntv 357 views

Arsenal prepare for the visit of German side Schalke in their UEFA Champions League Group B fixture at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday.

    Arsene Wenger, Arsenal Manager:
"We got over it (the defeat at Norwich) and we focus on our next game and that is the only way to deal with it - to put the disappointment behind us and of course to focus on Schalke tomorrow."

    Aaron Ramsey, Arsenal player:
"I don't know, we all look forward to these occasions, you know. We are playing against the best teams around Europe and everyone is up for them and you know, put our style and put our stamp on this competition and hopefully we can do the same tomorrow."

    Arsene Wenger:
"Yes we have a good opportunity we play at home against Schalke and of course we know, since we won in Montpellier that our qualifying will depend on how well we do at home. We have beaten Olympiacos and Montpellier and now it is down to us to beat Schalke at home and, if possible, away of course."

"They are a smaller team with very few superstars, perhaps. But they are very well organised and have very good players in every position."

"What we have is the will, the determination and above all, what I always ask my colleagues, is to be humble and to recognise that there is a strong opponent that has the same goal as we do."

    Vitor Pereira, Porto coach:
"What I hope for tomorrow is that our team gives a response... and mainly that we guarantee the three points because the three points tomorrow puts us in a very good position to qualify for the second stage."

"They (Dynamo Kiev) are a team that still has the chance to qualify for the second stage... they have three points so, we are expecting (to face) a dangerous squad."

Malaga v AC Milan preview - Joaquin and Pellegrini talk ahead of Champions League match

    by sntv 902 views

Malaga prepare to face a struggling AC Milan side in the Champions League on Wednesday.

So far, Malaga are enjoying their Champions League adventure - sitting pretty on top of Group C with six points from their opening four games. Their nearest challengers are their next visitors, AC Milan, who currently have four points.

The Italian giants are in the midst of their worst start domestically for 71 years - but both player Joaquin and his coach Manuel Pellegrini were keen to stress that Milan were still a force to be reckoned with.

    Joaquin. Malaga CF player:
"Although they aren't in their best moment, we have to know that they are Milan and they have a momentum in the Champions League and well...it is true that we are doing well at home and we can beat any team, we have proved it but always with the maximum respect, knowing that it is a team with a very big experience and with very good players"

"I think it is the most important match of this club. We know that we have to play with the same commitment and attitude that we used in the last matches we won."

    Manuel Pellegrini, Malaga CF coach:
"I shouldn't give an opinion about Milan...they aren't doing well in Italian league but the have four point from six, so is a rival to keep in mind"

"I think in all the match mental part is vital. Concentration, intensity are properties that all teams should have to be competitive. After that technical and individual part are keys to unbalance the match."

Manchester United v Braga preview - Ferguson: Braga 'better away from home'

    by sntv 685 views

Manchester United host Braga at Old Trafford in Group H on Tuesday and are hoping to take a step closer to the knockout stages of the Champions League, when they play Braga at Old Trafford on Tuesday.

United have two wins out of two in Group H so far, but Sir Alex Ferguson believes Braga are a bigger threat away from home:

"Braga, to my mind, are better away from home, they've shown that in their last game beating Galatasaray. It's not easy going to Turkey as we know, it's always a difficult place to go to, and they managed a two-nil victory. So counter-attack once again rears it's head. I always feel that, in the modern European game, counter-attack is always the issue at home."

United's 4-2 win against Stoke on Saturday was overshadowed by Rio Ferdinand's decision not to wear an anti-racism T-shirt.

It followed comments from Ferguson encouraging all English Premier League players to wear the tops:

"It's very simple. I've spoken to Rio (Ferdinand) and I think there's been a communication problem. I think he felt I should have spoken to him on the Friday, and I obviously didn't anticipate I had any problem in the dressing room as far as wearing the T-shirt was concerned, and my advice to him is that I always felt that a union is stronger than an individual."

Winger Ashley Young will make his comeback from injury against Braga. Ferdinand and French full-back Patrice Evra will be rested.

Lille v Bayern Munich - Lille continue search for first Champions League point

    by sntv 161 views

French side Lille trained on Monday in preparation for the following day's Champions League Group F meeting with Bayern Munich. Lille are still looking for their first point in the competition, this season.

The French side were 3-0 down by half-time in their first game against BATE Borisov - they went on to lose 3-1, and were then beaten 2-0 away to Valencia.

Matters won't get any easier on Tuesday night when they host last season's beaten finalists and four-time European champions Bayern Munich.

The German giants were also beaten by BATE, but they have made a record-breaking start to the Bundesliga season, winning their first eight games in succession.

Lille may be without defender Marko Basa. He broke his nose while scoring the equaliser in last Friday's 1-1 draw with Bordeaux, in the French Ligue-1.

Coach Rudi Garcia is already missing defender Idrissa Gueye and midfielder Rio Mavuba through injury.

Lille v Bayern Munich preview - Ribery 'happy to be back in Lille'

    by sntv 567 views

Former Lille youth player Franck Ribery spoke to the media on Monday - the eve of his current side Bayern Munich's Champions League Group F meeting with the French club:

"As I have said before, we need to get a good result tomorrow against Lille. Now, we know that Lille also wants to play well and win. This is our third Champions League match. Even if we had six points, we would have come to Lille with the same drive to win. But now, we've only got three points in two games, so if we don't get a good result tomorrow, it won't be good for us."

"I am very happy to be back in Lille and its atmosphere. Now if you want to talk about my behaviour off the pitch, I only had one problem at the training centre, I had a little fight with someone, he fell and hurt his elbow. His elbow was broken and I got fired, but even before that they wanted to let me go because they thought I was too small."

Shakhtar Donetsk v Chelsea preview - Shakhtar excited to host Chelsea

    by sntv 1,282 views

Shakhtar Donetsk coach Mircea Lucescu says his players are excited to face Champions League holders Chelsea on Tuesday and has urged his squad to rise to the occasion:

"It is the first ever time in my position at Shakhtar FC that we'll play with a European champion as Chelsea FC. This is a big ambition and motivation for my players. And for our fans, we are proud to host them at our stadium."

"This is fun for our club. I think if we didn't play in Champions League, but played in friendly game it would costs us between 1-1,5$ (USD) million. So, Shakhtar FC will win in all aspects. If we'll get a positive result, it will be great."

"I want my team to show up with good tactics, skills and to adopt the same approach for Chelsea as in the game with Juventus. This game will be on the highest level for sure."
