I think this is a great look - its dramatic and yet still wearable. The crease - as per the picture - is strong without a blended brow highlight. Its a form of a cut crease i guess. I like it anyway. And Lisa has such amazing eyes that making them up is a dream.

Lisa reminds me so much of Megan Fox! I When i first saw her i was like "oh she looks like Megan Fox!" ... i have more tutorials with Lisa coming soon :)
Its also worth noting that the lights here are so bright that they "bleach" out the skin. It is often times necessary to use "more" foundation than is necessary for tutorials. Lisa actually requires very little in real life.

Kim Kardashian Yellow Skin!
When the pictures of kim kardashian with her face covered in yellow primer were released twitter went wild - not to mention the newspapers! Apparently this was the secret to kims flawless glowing skin!
Playing up your undertones is not a new thing but its something - if you notice she has very strong yellow under tones anyway plus the dress she was wearing was yellow which is no coincidence either.
You can also change your undertones to play around with different looks. If this is something you'd be interested in doing you can try these few tricks.
Instead of using MAC NC30 (example) use MAC NW30 or Mix both NC30 and NW 30 to get a more neutral colour. Look for a bronzer that is either cool or warm based.
Changing the undertone of your skin with makeup can really enhance your look and the clothes you're wearing
Make Up For Ever HD Primer has colour correcting options - and while they are all very sheer they can be built up for more intensity - but remember the more you build it up the more product you will go through!

This is probably my favourite way to apply eyeshadow. Its a classic way that suits all eye shapes. Known as the classic eye or contoured eye and made famous by Way Bandy and Kevyn Aucoin it involves layering different shades of browns. The first colour goes from lash line to brow bone. It is about 2 shades deeper than your skin tone. The next shade goes on the lid and (if you wish) slightly into the crease of the eye. The third shades is your liner shade - this is normally black. This is a daily wearable shade that can be both subtle and yet dramatic at the same time. The fact that we do not highlight the brow bone gives this a very sexy, sultry look to the eye.

Kim Kardashians concealer as been the talk of makeup artists and makeup lovers for a long time now. Without a doubt its a beauty look. The one thing that you will notice if you've ever looked into drag makeup is that the concealer "trick" is the same as the drag queens! I have a lovely friend called "lee" who works as a drag queen - and his makeup is the best i've ever seen. Its amazing. A work of art and his concealer is the same!
I hope you learn something from this routine and also, excuse the facial hair and fact that i had not "eye makeup" on.
It looks a little hard and unblended on me - but with eyeshadow and the works it would have pulled together nicely :)

Contouring and Highlighting using the Magic Line Method.

Remember that you don't have to highlighting and contour at the same time. You can do just one. Personally i prefer to highlighting as i think it looks the most beautiful.

In every makeup artists arsenal there has to be one eyeshadow look that works on all eye shapes regardless.
This, to me, is the classic eye. The reason i think its classic is that it follow the principles of highlighting and contouring. While you cannot see it here - you will fully in a full face tutorial coming - but the outer edge of this eyeshadow look actually connects to the upper cheek highlight.
This technique works because all we are using here are principles of light and dark. It doesn't matter if you want to use green, or blue or pink, the principles remain the same. Lightest. Midtone. Contour. Eyeliner.
Once you know the basics you can do anything.
Some notes:
If you have:
Deep set eyes - consider OVER applying the brow and lid highlight. This will bring the eyes out even more.
Hooded eyes - careful with the eyeliner. A push liner brush might be a better option as this will maximise your lid space.
Wide Set eyes - easy on the inner eye highlight.
Close set eyes - same principles apply as to the deep set eyes.
I do hope you enjoyed this and learnt something a little bit more in-depth than most other eye shadow tutorials.

This look was inspired because i saw a lady at the laura mercier counter who was wearing the same look - it was day time - and i loved it. There is nothing wrong with rocking out a smokey eye during the day. Who says it has to be VERY natural. What is night time extreme to one might be day time to another.
I've rimmed the eye two ways so you can see the difference in using a light colour and a deep colour. Neither (on me) opened or shrank the eye - but everyones eye is different.
I think its really important with a smoky eye not to go to extreme with brows. I think the more natural the better otherwise it can look very contrived.

This is not a classic smoky eye because with a classic smoky eye the shape is normally "round", darkest at the lash line and fading up into nothingness. Whereas in this version we have created depth from the outside corner in. I think this version is slightly more "vampy".
I wanted to use the Tom Ford Titanium Smoke Palette for this look - as i wanted to show you what the colours and the pigment look like.
Tom Ford eyeshadow palettes retails at £62 which sound expensive but when you think that a palette of 4 eyeshadows from bobbi brown are £72 for the same amount of size, its not that scary! In fact bobbi brown, MAC and laura mercier are all more expensive gram for gram than Tom Ford.
If you have hooded eyes its very important to go "into the hood" because you need to see the colour. On all eye shapes its important to HIT THE CREASE and above otherwise you will run the risk of making your eyes look very small bad "piggy".
If you have deepest eyes the colour must come onto the brow-bone otherwise you will look like you have two black holes in your head!
This look works the best on close set, normal and Asian eyes because with asian eyes you have a huge amount of space to work with. So go for it.
Don't' be scared about bring the colour up under the brow. You will blend so it won't look as scary. Sometimes eyeshadow looks worse before it gets better.

NOTE: Whenever you do any form of smoky eye - always remember the rest of your makeup should be in balance. If they eye is very STRONG in colour - then adding a natural shade of blush and lipstick is always a safe bet. Going either one shade lighter or darker than your own lip shade is great. -

This video is about blending only. Its not so much about the finished product - but how we got there.
Truth is purple is my favourite colour. I love it. I hate pissing around with more than 3 colours on the eye i really do. With good blending techniques two colours (and a liner) are plenty. Blending can turn a bright purple (example) into any shade of violet when paired with a lighter colour (bisque).
The MAC 217 brush is ideal and along with MAC 226 brush one my favourites. I prefer the MAC 217 brush for blending because the shape of it will fit most eyes. Using brush guards will prolong the life and shape of your brush and bristles.
Sigma do a version of the MAC 217 brush but its not one of my favourite brushes. I find the shape doesn't run evenly - meaning one brush may look different from another and i find the quality scratchy. However i know that many people love this brush - so its worth checking it out - as you never know.

As you'll see going along, i am using only the lightest touch. For a less dramatic look only apply the colour on the eyelid (dark colour) and blend. This will bring it up onto the crease and will give a less dramatic look.
I cannot stress enough the importance of using a light touch. I mean really light touch. I know you see me man-handling Mandy (lol) but that is mainly for silliness. If you work with a makeup artist normally one of the things you'll first notice is how "soft" they are on the eyes when applying eyeshadow.
Bare in mind that any form of makeup artistry requires practice. Practice practice practice and in time you will get it.
Some are lucky and have it down pat right way - that was and never has been me! lol
I truly believe you can do so much with only a couple of colours. I have 100s but i only tend to use the same ones over and over again. What a waste!
My favourite brand of cosmetics (for eyeshadows) are Makeup Atelier Paris - because they offer amazing pigmentation and the price is great. There has been a recent price increase but the eyeshadow palettes remain the same i believe. Makeup Atelier do eyeshadow palettes, single eyeshadows and artistic eyeshadows. I recommend the palettes or singles most of all.

I realise this is a very simple look - but i love the song so much and i think she looks so beautiful in the video. I also think its great that Avril Lavigne doesn't appear to have messed with her looks either - which is wonderful.
This style suits all eye shapes. Not a classic smokey eye as we are keeping all the intensity on the lower eyelid. With a smokey eye the intensity is kept on the lower lash line and then blended up until nothing.
If you have hooded eyes then make sure you remain looking down the entire time as to not transfer any product onto the upper lid. Once the gel eyeliner has set it will be budge proof - depending on what liner you used of course.
You can of course omit the black kohl pencil - but i feel it gives it a more "glossy" look.
Adding black glitter to this would have looked amazing also.
Not all looks are right for all eye types and ages, but why not give it a go - regardless of age or gender.
Pair this with a nude blush (something pinky beige or light/medium skin tones - orange beige for deeper skin tones) and a nude lip (mac spice) with a little gloss all over.

If you look at the average bridal eyeshadow tutorial they are mostly the same. One light shade all over the eye and lined eyes. In all honesty there is no such thing as a standard bridal eyeshadow or makeup for that matter. It really is what the bride wants.
For this tutorial I wanted to create a romantic, slightly sleepy look. I happen to love this look and it's one I do often on brides as the focus is on the eyes without any real extemes.
Plus it adds a layer of pink. Pink is a very requested eyeshadow colour from brides but at the same time hard to pull off as it can often times make the eyes look sore.
Pink and brown look beautiful together so I wanted to combine these two elements.
Notice the entire looks is matte other than the use of a small amount of diamond powder on the inner eye.
Why?
Because matte skin and matte eyeshadows photograph better than shimmer and this is certainly a time when you want your photos to look amazing!
NOTE: This was filmed in HD and UP CLOSE! From a distance these lashes look even more amazing and "real" compared with other fake eyelashes. I prefer "mink" (they are cruelty free) for weddings as these look more natural.

Always match your foundation to your chest. You want your face and body to be the same colour. The neck is often times lighter than the chest so it makes sense to match your foundation colour to your body.
Also, we don't want to become "those" women who's faces are one colour and bodies another!
If you don't want to bring the foundation down onto your neck - use a bronzer and your current foundation and warm up the outsides of the face and neck to bring everything into balance.
When you look at stars on the red-carpet there faces match there body ... its important to match :)

I got a little glimpse behind the scenes of the Rihanna diamonds video (gotta love google!) and thought I would come up with a eyeshadow tutorial look for it. Its very similar to what she is wearing. I also think this look is totally wearable everyday as its not too strong and yet contains just the right amount of "sparkle" without being overbearing and because no shadow was used underneath the eye its much more of day time look.
