Assalamu 'alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh,
May the peace, blessings and mercy of of Allah, the Almighty, be with you all!
The popular MAS youth video series, "In The Shade of Ramadan" is BACK!. "In the Shade of Ramadan" is an annual online series that is produced by MAS Youth during the time of the month of Ramadan every year. It is a series of educational and motivational reflections on the month of Ramadan featuring different MAS Youth speakers. It is composed of 30 episodes every season (an episode per day). The main purpose of this series is to uplift the level of spirituality of all of us in an attempt to fulfill what Allah (SWT), the Most High, assigned us in this life, and to ask for forgiveness in the hereafter.
We have now been blessed to complete our 3rd season of ISR. (Checkout the previous two seasons at
http://masyouth.net/default.aspx?siteId=162§ionId...). Below are a few suggestions on how to connect with the ISR series (as well as the current "LightHouse" Initiative by the MAS Tarbiyah Department):
1. Watch the new episode each morning - Can't start your day without a Peppermint White Chocolate Mocha or a Caramel Macchiato because you're fasting? No problem, because now with ISR you can start off your day at Cafe Taqwa with a Triple Shot of Eman. Use these small, simple, and short daily reminders as a way to remind you of the blessed spirit of the month of Ramadan.
2. Seek to implement each daily reminder - Already know about that topic you just watched? Good, the ISR videos are just reminders of important lessons we should keep in mind during Ramadan. The challenge now is to implement that daily lesson into every aspect of our lives. Only by implementing it will we truly taste the sweetness of Ramadan.
3. Talk about it - Studies show that teaching actually helps you learn. So talk to your friends and family about the topic you just watched in the video and remind them of what you learned. Then help motivate and push one another to implement what you hear.
4. Tweet it! - Yea you heard us right, tweet the new episodes. Post it up on your Facebook or other social network accounts. Social media is an amazing tool if used properly. Use it for good and to share the blessings of Ramadan with all your friends and family, Muslim or non-Muslim. For those who are trying to taking a break from Facebook or Twitter during this Ramadan, may Allah reward you and help you. You can skip this step :)
Lastly, we'd like to thank Allah, the Most Merciful, for allowing us to have another season of ISR and giving us this opportunity to witness another Ramadan and to be His worshippers, as there is no honor greater than this. May Allah reward all those involved in this project, please keep them in your prayers.
Please feel free to respond to this email and share comments or thoughts about this project on this email list or to personally email the MAS Youth executive team at my-exec@yahoogroups.com.
JazakumAllahu khairan
May Allah reward us all and make us servants of the Most Merciful.
