I've been playing the guitar since I was 9 and I'm now 20. During that time I actually put the guitar down for about a year and a half to two years and learnt basic drums. But I soon realised that it was guitar that I wanted to play. For about 3 years straight I mainly played and learnt the styles of playing that Metallica put into their music. Kirk Hammett, Lead Guitarist of Metallica is the one who initially influenced me to pick up the guitar. All in all I learnt note for note around 40 Metallica songs by ear. Now I am mainly influenced by instrumental and lead guitarists like Joe Satriani, Steve Vai and still Kirk Hammett. They play a huge part in my playing. I also listen to loads of others. Eric Johnson, Tommy Emmanuel, John Petrucci, Paul Gilbert...the list could go for ages!

Over the past 2 years I have looked into and began writing my own instrumental pieces. Some of these are able to be heard on my "myspace" page at:
