Kidsfuture is a project based in Barahona, which is a province in the southwestern part of the Dominican Republic near the Haitian border.
Barahona is one of the most important cities on the island as it is a center of sugar production and industry. It is also one of the Dominican Republic's poorest regions, with high HIV, child mortality, teen pregnancy and illiteracy rates.
Kids Future supports the local children's home daily operations and provides basic needs such as food, clothing and access to health care to some of the most vulnerable groups in the area, which are the street children.
International organizations and the local government often overlook the border areas between Haiti and the Dominican Republic. This impoverished region is home to many children that are surviving under impossible conditions. We work to give kids a chance towards a future they otherwise would not have by supporting a local children's home and providing services through street outreach programs. We are a grassroots initiative: 100% of all donations help improve the lives of those in need.
