Thanks for all your contributions. Here's a question you can answer with one word: You mentioned in comments that you adjusted the pot for your Neo Geo CDZ (and that it fried the lens, but let's ignore that). All I would like to know is, since you have a multimeter and probably checked, which way reduces the resistance and increases power to the laser? Clockwise or anti-clockwise?

Todd Harhager 3 months agoHey I have a Sega Saturn MK-8000 disc spins but will not read a thing. Replaced the laser and the same thing, the disc just sits there and spin for about two mins and then stops. This one got me ready to pitch it over the hill in the creek.

Daniel Zúñiga 11 months agohi man :) I have a question that took me awake all night long hahaha I consider me as a newbie on retro gaming, yesterday I bought a NES with 6 games, a zapper and a controller, it was very dirty inside so I cleaned up and do the region free mod that you have. But it can't still read games, the red light is not flashing anymore, but when I power on the NES the screen comes white or gray; I think it should be that the 72 pin connector is not doing contact with the games because the use it had, but in fact I don't know. Can you help me? Thanks :)

Pocketim 1 year agoHello! I saw you have made a Lynx repair video, and I wanted to ask you if you knew of a fix for a Lynx with a broken D-pad? Basically, when I push on the left side of the D-pad, it always thinks I'm pushing up as well, making it impossible to go left in say, a top-down game like Chips Challenge or Crystal Mines 2, as instead I'll go north-west diagonally. Same thing happens when I push up on the D-pad, it thinks I'm pushing left as well.

Henrik Bøggild 1 year agoVERY nice and usefull channal. Would be very happy if you would make a diagram or something on how to interface your L2M2 to the Logitech PCB and Daytona wheel, cause I'm really not sure what the french tutorial at gamoover.net is saying about the interfacing part (google translate). Btw. have you noticed that google translate is just translating kohm to ohm's in this tutorial. Minor mistake that people HAS TO TAKE INTO CONSIDERATION when building the board! But again thanks for the cool video's and keep up the good work. :)

RetroRepair 1 year agoHaha it's pretty much impossible long term, though depending on the fault, you can temporarily fix it by using the old towel method. Usually lasts me about a month or so -_^ That said, my friend used the penny trick and it lasted about 2 years. Pot luck I think mate.

Marc Geraghty 1 year agoHey I was wondering could you help me. I have a Doctor v64 that i took out of the press after many years I seem to remember how it all works but is there any tool like RTool to convert Roms from NSTC-USA to Pal or should that even matter?.. I have downloaded 3 different types of Goldeneye Roms there all USA versions all carry different data like Rom size etc.. But it seems to be missing a bit on the side of tv screen and the volume stops after I load a level? Also Mario Kart graphics isn't perfect as original game and sound is poor?... Any Ideas? Help would be greatly appreciated. :)

Gil Morrison 2 years agoHey there. First I just want to say thanks for helping me fix my Saturn. Its been on a down slope for years now and now its working great. You actually inspired me to start making my own youtube repair videos. Anyways, I picked up a saturn the other day that "was broken". I was told it wasn't reading discs and I figured that it was another simple adjustment like my original saturn. How wrong they were. It reads discs fine but what it displays is entirely different! It seems like any data passed from the bios or disc shows up garbled....almost like whne old NES games would start failing. If I post a video could you take a look?

LordXaero 2 years agoOh, mine works, so no need to take it apart. Haha. However, the drive sometimes doesn't open, so I have to give the gear alittle push for it to finally open up. Guess that's what I get for having it sit on display for awhile rather than using it.
