Hi Mike, Your ball striking skills are amazing. I've been very curious about one shot and that's the low-spinner some pros execute from various pitching distances. The ball flies low, hops 2-3 times and checks. I know conditions of the greens pros play have something to do with this but I haven't seen a single convincing video on this shot. When you pitch, how do you spin the ball, yet keep it low? For this to work, club has to be moving fast. Ball back in the stance doesn't work because it runs out. So I position ball more forward, reduce bounce of SW so it doesn't dig by setting the shaft more neutral at address and accelerate with a more descending blow to the back of the ball so it climbs up the face. Any comments you may have would be appreciated.

@searchbucket You either are content with mediocrity, or have no idea what you are talking about. Any elite athlete golfer or dancer is very aware of the small parts that are responsible for top performance when the are practicing and refining. When they play some choose more than others..

Great golf videos, clear and concise.

Is your first move on the downswing your right foot moving clockwise or the left knee moving towards the target?

Listening to you could ruin many golfers swings ...... You over-analyse all the time.
If YOU strike the ball well it's because you seem to do nothing else but hit golf balls every day?
Given a few fundamentals and natural talent you will end up with good technique just by hitting balls .... NOT by endless mind-blocking analysis of every miniscule bodily movement ....... Mo Norman proved that.
A dancer doesn't think about silly little things like "foot torque" ... just about rhythyn, shape and form.
All this over-analysis just confuses the student.
Anyway, what seperates a great player is natural talent, the decisions he makes on the course, how he executes under pressure, and how he putts ... not how pretty his swing technique is.

mike, i've made numerous posts on your videos. am i on the right track now? i've been playing golf since july, studying 5 lessons and moe norman throughout the process. i have really enjoyed your insight, as it offers a great perspective from someone who knows "the move" as well. the more i learn about what hogan was trying to teach, the more i realize that, yes, there is no reason anybody in decent physical shape can not learn how to shoot under 80 in 6 months time, all the while playing fine shots a true golfer would typically play.

any opinion regarding pressing down on the left hand in backswing to keep club in front of you?
billy38010 (9 months ago)
Mike, I just had to comment, I think you're ideas are extremely invaluable, I can't wait to try them out. Obviously you have a great swing! I have a set of BH Speed slots and Director irons, and change intermittently between those and all Graphite clubs. "All roads lead back to Hogan," indeed.

Thanks, and good luck in you're endeavors, you've given Golfers new hope.
