Hello Jeremy, I have a problem and thought you'd probably have the best answer!

I need to make a system that locates where someone is on a stage (so a spotlight can track them). I thought I would be able to get a device to place on the performer and sensors a stage left and stage rear to detect x and y co-ordinates, although either I haven't been looking for the right thing or they're rare.. Do you know what this type of device and sensor type or thing would be or even any other method of locating someone on a stage?

Thank you for your time! -Jack
