HISTORY OF THE POLLOCK AND POLLOCK GOSSIP SHOW

It has appeared in many formats: TV in the 1980's; movie theatres from 2004 till the present; the internet from 2007 till the present; DVD 2009 release

TV
THE POLLOCK AND POLLOCK GOSSIP SHOW, originally ran for about 200 episodes on TV, which I directed and appeared in from 1985-1989. This show, with us appearing live, was featured on the PHIL DONAHUE, JENNY JONES, and JOAN RIVERS TV Talk shows in the 1990's.

MOVIE THEATRES
The POLLOCK AND POLLOCK GOSSIP SHOW has continued on in movie documentary form from 2004 until the present in art film theatres and universities all over North America, and Europe, presented by DANIEL BARROW under the name "WINNIPEG BABYSITTER".

--- In the fall of 2008 Winnipeg Babysitter, featuring our show, played in TORONTO and began its showings in EUROPE.

...it played in NEW YORK CITY at the LIGHT INDUSTRY THEATRE on February 17, 2009.

...and in MONTREAL Friday March 13, 2009 at CONCORDIA UNIVERSITY.

...on September 10th, 2009, Daniel Barrow was in PORTLAND, OREGON, as a featured performer at the Portland Institute of Contemporary Art's TBA FESTIVAL where he presented Winnipeg Babysitter.

... Winnipeg Babysitter played in CHICAGO, ILLINOIS Saturday, October 17, 2009, at the Nightingale Theatre
1084 N. Milwaukee Chicago, IL 60642.

...and It played in MILWAUKEE, WISCONSIN Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at the UWM Union Theatre, 2nd Floor, Student Union, 2200 E Kenwood Blvd.

...also, it played in AUSTIN, TEXAS at the FuseBox Festival April 26, 2010

...and Saturday, September 3, 2010 in Philadelphia at International House - 7:00 PM.

...and from June 23, 2011, until September 25, Winnipeg Babysitter is playing in Paris, France at La Maison Rouge, a contemporary gallery located in the Bastille district...and it also will be playing at the Musee International des Arts Modestes (MIAM), a gallery in the southern French city of Sete from November 5, 2011 until May 20, 2012, both as part of an exhibition called My Winnipeg

############################# POLLOCK AND POLLOCK MUSIC BIO


1960's.

We began as singer songwriters. In the late 1960's my sister Natalie and I went to New York City and met singer Dionne Warwick. She produced recordings of our songs with us singing them. We were then signed up to Capitol Records by Artie Kornfeld. At the same time he was producing the famous Woodstock festival.


1970's.

We had 3 recordings on Billboard Magazines in 1974-75 on their national U.S. Charts. "You Foxy Thing I Love You" made it to no. 23. "Dance Music" went to no. 28. "Smile On Me" was no. 35.


1980's till the present -- TV'S "Pollock and Pollock Gossip Show" (see above)


OUR MUSIC ON THE DVD
Barrow edited the documentary into DVD form including special features not in the documentary, including a recording of ours from 1972 called "Six Times" which garnered quite a lot of radio play at the time it came out (top ten at CFRW Winnipeg). It can be heard in the "Fabulous!" playlist on this site. Also included is an early 1980's recording of us performing our song "What'll I do, after you're gone".
